Witherspoon made a few dollars tonight and can go back to selling cars. This fight provided no answers as to Usyk's abilities as a heavyweight. He beat up a fat car salesman who never accomplished anything as a boxer. I want to see Usyk fight someone who has ambition before I can say he has a chance as a heavyweight.
I'm not sure. Does anyone know the release date for the Tyson movie?
:lol1: Props to Mike for using the word "deplorable" to describe King.
Is this from the new Tyson movie? If so, I want to see it.
From what I gather, Cotto hardly speaks English therefore he should hire someone that speaks Spanish. I think during training and especially during a fight a boxer needs to be able to communicate with their trainer directly and not through a translator.
McCline has not looked muscular since his steroid source got busted a few years ago. He use to look like Mr. Universe.
Yeah, to be fair McCline isn't looking to be in great shape either. Usually he is muscular but now he seems a bit out of shape.
Arreola will probably win but I'm not sure how far he can go if he lets himself go like that. These are professional athletes we are talking about after all.
I sure there are many Pavlik fans in Youngstown, OH that are very dissappointed in him. With Hopkins being a 4-1 underdog in this fight, 43 years old, many thought he was sure to lose and even taste the canvas for the first time in his career. I can only imagine the large number of people that lost money betting on Pavlik to beat Hopkins.
Based on Pavlik's style of boxing what coach do you think would be a good match? I personally don't think Pavlik needs to get someone that is going to change his style of boxing but just work on a few things.
Peter needs a real trainer someone who can motivate him to achieve his best. His current trainer is a joke. I think he should hook up with Freddie Roach or Ronnie Shields.
Dawson doesn't sound punch drunk to me. Some people mistakenly think if a fighter speaks with a drawl it means he is punch drunk. Some people naturally speak that way especially Southerners. The kid is from South Carolina. Dawson answered the interviewer's questions coherently which is a sign he is far from being punch drunk.
It depends on your definition of non-expensive. Don't expect to find any private gyms with boxing instruction that charge less than $150/month unless it is the PAL (Police Athletic League). Gleasons is expensive in my opinion, you pay for using the facilities and pay whatever the coach wants to charge you. The other private gyms follow the same format when it comes to pricing. If you are a teenager then look into the PAL (Police Athetic League). You might be able to get away with training there if you are a few years older. There's one in the Bronx that offers boxing and I think also in Harlem.
If you are willing to pay $150 - $250 each month for lessons than check out Gleasons Gym (Brooklyn, NY), Church Street Boxing (lower Manhattan), and Kingsway Boxing Gym (midtown Manhattan). I'm not sure what's availaible in Queens at this time.
You know Hatton better than his trainer? Beard admits Hatton went against the game plan. Hatton thought he was going to be able to walk through Pacquai with power alone and went back to his old way of fighting.
Beard is ridiculous. Even if Ricky had stuck to his game plan he would still have been knocked out. Makes no difference.
Bullshit!!! No such thing happened. Margarito never wanted an immediate rematch. Nice way of sending someone on a wild goose chase to suggest looking far back in the achives. How far back should I look, maybe go as far back as 1970?
yes there was. Margarito wanted the immediate rematch! They sent the letter to the wbo and boxingscene. if you go far back enough you will find it in the archives. It just the dumb margarito haters that had nothing to say so they come up with this margarito is scared and ducking williams when the truth comes out its williams who was ducking and declined the immediate rematch. His big mouth attention whore can shut up now and wait in line.
I'm happy to see that Cintron has a new trainer and I like Ronnie Shields. Do you think we will see a new and improved Cintron with Shields in his corner?

You can see the round by round at
http://boxing.fanhouse.com/2009/12/05/paul-williams-vs-sergio-martinez-live-undercard-updates/
can you boys do a bit of round by round for me?
In the interview Arreola says "But at the same time, on Saturday night, you'll see a different Chris, and I'm going to make sure that I use my angles and my legs a lot more."
How does he expect to use his legs more if he is coming into the fight at his heaviest weight?
Are you a woman or gay? If you are a man, why would you be interested in knowing about someone's personal life?
hopefully jin can log in on boxingscene and tell us about it :lol1:
Rubio should get his Mexican citizenship revoked for his lack of performance. The government of Mexico should send him to live in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Rubio is a disgrace to all mexicans backing up the whole damn fight and then he finally wins a round and so he follows up by backing up the whole round again... WTF!!
