Cotto should hire Joe Goossen

From what I gather, Cotto hardly speaks English therefore he should hire someone that speaks Spanish. I think during training and especially during a fight a boxer needs to be able to communicate with their trainer directly and not through a translator. Actually Cotto's english is pretty good, he just has a thick accent.

Joe doesn't leave Cali. He had Chico training in Van Nuys and had Malik Scott move to Cali dark horse IMO is Orlando Cuellar.

Goosen would be excellent. He always gives the right advice and doesnt sugarcoat things. He'll let you know if you're losing. Very underrated trainer.

True, communication is important between a trainer and a boxer. As for who should Cotto hired next? I think Jorge Rubio would be a good choice, he's based out of Miami. Seeing how Cotto wants to train in Florida...Rubio wouldn't be a bad choice.

Joe could be too passive. Cotto has a dominating personality, he needs someone that commands respect from him. I think Nacho is the right trainer styles wise, but I don't know if he's too passive either. i think you're confusing old with passive; trust that nacho is anything but passive with the career hes had.

I don't think Richardson will work out because of Shane (and the impact of that on a possible rematch). Floyd Sr. might work, but that mofo is hard as hell to understand for a native English speaker, so I doubt the instructions will get to Cotto, LOL. Freddy Roach is the next best trainer out there, but, again, he's based in Cali. As for Nacho. I don't know. Would Nacho want to train a Puerto Rican? He'll probably end up with some shitty trainer from PR. nacho's an OG. women care about the nationality of a fighter, women like chicana 69, mayan_gay and xxxcaret. an OG like nacho will get straight into cotto's ass and see if he performs as well as his pupils like jmm and lopez in training.

I think Cotto needs a trainer that will not only push him the right way (as Joe is famous for doing), but also can teach him a thing or two. Evangelista should've been gone a while ago. Joe did a great job with the Ruelas and Chico, and I'm sure he'll do well with Cotto. The only problem is that he's based out of Cali. Who do you guys think he should hire as a trainer? Hopefully not Buddy McGirt and I think Richardson would be a stretch. He should go after Mayweather SR. Can you imagine what Cotto would look like with that type of defense? :afro:
