Dawson doesn't sound punch drunk to me. Some people mistakenly think if a fighter speaks with a drawl it means he is punch drunk. Some people naturally speak that way especially Southerners. The kid is from South Carolina. Dawson answered the interviewer's questions coherently which is a sign he is far from being punch drunk.

When Hopkins became #1, there was no-one with as pressing a claim as Dawson has now. If you can't see how a somone who has beaten Adamek, Johnson and Tarver (two of those by outstanding performances) at LHW is better than a career SMW who fought once at LHW and looked utter dog shit, then you're just confirming my suspicions - that you're basically nothing more than a Wlad Owns type character, and with as much credibility. Joe's had 1 fight at LHW, struggled massively against someone who basically fights at catchweights nowadays, and is therefore the top dog at LHW ahead of someone who has beaten Adamek, Johnson and Tarver at this weight class? Hopkins first fight at LHW he beat Tarver when he was the #1. He became the #1 everyone was happy. Calzaghe's first fight at LHW he beat Hopkins the #1. He became #1. Some are complaining. Dawson has done a lot and beaten some top guys I accept, but you can beat top 10 guys as long as you want, if someone else out there has beaten the #1, then they are the #1. Basic consistent logic. I shan't re-iterate, like it or lump it.

the top LHW period! No one else can claim that title period. No sr. circuits or catch weights. give the man his due and ignore the clowns that falsely wear the crown.

I agree Dawsons done more at LHW, but come on. Hopkins came out of retirement to LHW and beat the #1 guy, to become LHW #1, few complained. Joes done the same without the retirement. He beat the #1 guy and is rightfully the champ. You don't do things by how many times they've fought there, there there, thats it. Like it or lump it. I don't think he'd get the winner of Roy/Joe to be honest. There both towards the end of their career, I believe Joe will retire and the only fight he wouldn't would possibly be Pavlik cos of all the requests and hype for it, plus shit talking. Dawson doesn't bring the motivation to fight beyond what he's planned. If Roy wins he might face him but I think Hopkins would fancy a go lol, would have to see though.

I agree on what he said about Calzaghe, i think hes the best light heavyweight without any bias. Joe has only beaten Hopkins at light heavyweight, while Dawson has beaten 4 top 10 light heavyweights and 2 champions. He should definitely get the winner of Calzaghe/Jones to solidify that.
