I changed my pick of Vitali stoppage round 7 to round 8 late last night on BoxRec, and got a perfect pick!

It looked like Peter was going to wilt at the end of the 8th, and I thought Vitali was going to finish him for sure in the 9th. Oh well.

Good call. I figured it for 2nd to 4th, but I hadnt' counted on Peter's upper body movement (dramatically improved). I figured he'd be catching about 80% of those hooks and rights, instead of about 35%. Whether anybody noticed it or not, Peter did work hard to get ready for this fight, it just wasn't enough.
Not particularly impressive by Vitali.
Are you ****ing kidding me? He's been out for 4 years (which is why so many were predicting a KO win by Peter), and basically humiliated a guy with only 1 loss coming into the fight with the WBC belt, and you're "Not particularly impress"?
What should he do to impress you, exactly...fight two guys at once, using only his left?
The thing with Vitali is, it looks easy to hit him with his hands low and with him bending down a bit with his chin out, but I think he does it on purpose so that he can counterpunch his opponents when they lunge in for that chin, which is exactly what happened when Peter tried. Klitschko is very good at being able to get his hands up to block body shots and straighten up or back away when shots go to his head.
peter quits after round 8. open scoring was in affect i think....vitalis style has so many holes peter was just too short and slow to do anything
Yeah, it wasn't the punches Vitali was landing

i agree.....
You've got to be joking...
He was inactive for four years, and he's age 37.
I don't give discounts for age and activity levels. You either impress me or you don't.
Klitschko was very impressive considering everything, his timing was good but not the same as it once was, his handspeed looked a bit slowed as well but he didn't need it the way Peter looked in there, 253 pounds was way too heavy for him, they wanted him to move his head quickly, he was way too muscle bound to do that effectively, and he looked so slow. Anyways, good win for Klitschko, historic moment for heavyweight boxing.
