Well Pac will really look sluggish punching a chin elevated 5 inches higher than usual. He has to stretch too to reach and project power. That's why he looked sluggish. He understood that he had to receive some some punches too because he was fighting a fellow pressure fighter.
Okaaaaay...
I hate pacquiao --- Galit ako kay Pacquiao dahil wala akong balato
Pac is 1 dimensional --- Si Pac ay isang cartoons
Pac is just lucky --- Si Pac ay Suwerte
Pac has no skills --- SI pac ay di marunong ng jackstone
Pac will lose in the next bout --- Si pac ay luluwag sa susunod na laban
Anak ng tipaklong na thread na to. I know the threadstarter's just playin' with us. hahahahaha :ugh:
Damn I am in shock. Castillo shouldn't have played into Hatton's brand of trench warfare. Jose should have put some distance between both of them. Ranged bombs plus a "going in fighter" = some rounds won for castillo. :nonono:
Horrible decision! Morales won that fight! I had it 7 rounds against 5 for Morales plus a knockdown do boast about. Argh. A hometown decision for Diaz. :pat:
Damn. Morales is doing good but I hope he can sustain his agression and defense. He might tire in the later rounds. Kudos to Morales in scoring a knockdown! I haven't seen one in a looooong time.
I see Toney winning by decision too. Tarver will get countered all night. Toney might intentionally lure Tarver to come to him. Not a bad tack. He will let the lighter fighter come to him thus conserving his energy and rely on his formidable defense to weather Tarver's attack. Remember how Tarver seemed to lose some gas after unleashing bombs at Jones? Once Tarver punches himself out tired, Toney will start to pick him apart.
OMG....

PICK ONE. jk
Hahahaha... Okay. But maybe I can politely ask you not to hijack this thread with some reference to others with the same topic. I wasnt aware of the other existing ones. No sarcasm in my tone. K? :D
I like Floyd and I want to believe that Floyd will fight anybody but why he chooses to steer away from a fight with Margarito is beyond me. It's sooo Floyd to say a blasting comment or two (or more... remember the things he said about Gatti?) about fighters that can possibly have a fight with him. Strangely, PBF's been a bit quiet at Margarito. Neway, I guess Floyd's management is also aware that Margarito's style presents a lot of problems with Floyd. IT DOES. And styles do make fights. Though PBF has fought better and more poipular opponents, It doesnt mean PBF will win every round against Margarito.
3 types of fighters:
1) boxer
2) slugger
3) swarmer
The slick boxer will beat the slugger more often than the other way around. But the classic solution to the slick pugilist ones are the swarmer types. Rocky was a swarmer. He beat a slick Jersey Joe Walcott. Castillo is a late round swarmer and he beat a slick Casamayor and got close at beating Floyd. Hatton is a swarmer...
I believe PBF's management is the one maneuvering Floyd out of a possible collision course with Margarito.
hi fistfest,
anyway one thing is for sure...it's already in the record books and a win is a win...bobby's hear and courage did it for him and i'm happy for him. :D
follow this link to my impressions about this fight.

thanks.
:D Janno my bro! How bout cha? I am all good here in the land of San Miguel Beer Oktoberfest and Sisig. Well, I gotta concede it to you in your last statement. Indeed, a win is a win. I'm sure Roach will train him well to be ahead comfortably next time to avoid complications in his next fight. True, it could go either way. It just so happened that there are some people like me who goes to the more accurate fighter just incase both are high output boxers. BUT a win is a win. I'm just lobbying for Famoso to still get some decent fights after this one. The guy's a really nice man I heard. :D
He might be involved in the shadiest dealings of any promoter in the history of the sport. Five thousand times worse than Don King.
Knives, please!!! Let me politely ask you not to hijack this thread. Make a separate thread about Arum, my boy. I am not one of the newbie members that you love to pick on. I've been on and off with this site for a looooong time now. Please take note of the word POLITELY. Aight? :)
Arum is a marked man in Las Vegas.....plain and simple. Nevada State Hitman Commision is out to get him.
HuH? ... Anyway.... Bobby and Carlos needed this fight for their carrers. It's just soooo bad that it comes at a time when judges come up with questionable scoring. The least they could've done is a draw. I wish Famoso gets a rematch.
Arums involments or wrong doings can be link to this thread topic on wheather or not Hernandez was robbed.
Yeah I know but Knives has been postin' stuff about Arum in other threads too. There's a pattern here my friend. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad at the guy :D
This is cracking me up guys. It's all good but some sleazy promoters just deserve to be given a dose of Manila and Tijuana Ice. :D
Famoso should be given another chance I hope he doesnt go into obscurity after this one.
I agree that Bhops should've won the fight, Padilla. But I think Taylor isnt screwed just yet. He's got a nice attitude towards his chosen sport. After winning a disputable close fight, A LOT of fighters would end up making statements like "I told you I can do it coz I'm better than anybody else" thing. But Taylor said something which really impressed me. He told the media that he learned a lesson. WOW... look at that. I think a fighter who acknowledges his mistakes and learns from them is a humble and dangerous guy who shouldn't be taken lightly any given day. His maturity in such a young career is commendable. Taylor showed marked improvements after his fights. I think he wont be a walk in the park for Bhops in a rematch. I guess he won't be making the same mistakes. He's actually learning from Hopkins. :)
I gotta say that Barrera - Morales is the best trilogy. Reason? Because of the tactics.
A heated slugfest between sluggers is always amazing to watch and the most dramatic BUT... a heated exchange, a trench war or a long range shooting war between two fighters who employ strategy/tactics like Barrera and Morales while throwing leather at each other is more spectacular to watch. It's also pure art when you watch tactical boxers engage in a war. The ease at which they switch styles --- defensive mode and offensive mode in the middle of a fight is exciting to watch. It's so easy to forget about defense when you are a participant in a slugfest. It's a give and take thing BUT it's more exciting to watch a smart give and take exchange. :D
hi fistfest, sorry to comment, but i think you should read janno's "indepth" review of the fight. he was right (imo), the fight could've gone a draw or bobby winning by 1 point. but that was after reviewing the fight a few times.
the only thing questionable was not famoso losing the game but why is it the scoring of one judge was very far the other two judges.
There's no debating the clearer picture of a fight if it is viewed multiple times. It is the most correct way of reviewing a shooting war. Janno is one poster I warmly respect in this site and I consider a buddy. He's right with that and it showed when you quoted me that I agree with what he posted.
However, I would like to strees to you that the focus of this thread wasn't primarily to post an "in depth" look at the fight but to air the side of the boxing observers who has a tendency to favor the boxer who is "seemingly" more accurate in a heated exchange THE FIRST TIME THEY SEE IT. Both were busy fighters in the bout but there are people who slightly favors the one who tags more and has the more telling punches and makes the other fighter look out of balance at times (like me) THEN, there are people like Janno who keenly looks at the angles and he is also right in his views.
Think of it this way...
Me and Janno are technically both correct. It could've gone either way but this thread was for people who saw the fight the first and only time. And most of them would probably have Famoso winning. But I bet you'd be surprised at what I'd say if I made a thread that read: "FAMOSO and PACQUIAO: A 3RD LOOK"
People, Famoso deserves to have a rematch. Can anybody here provide the background of the two judges who gave questionable scores? Duane Ford and this other guy...
That might be the truth but I wont say. My computer could be bugged by them. They are watching you know.
My last post in this thread. I'm sorry for hijacking fistfest.
Yeah it's okay...
Good thing I'm one of those posters who understands yer head and record. neway... ciao... may the KGB and Mossad be with you. :D
Randy's a talented guy. It's a shame that he got his scalp handed to him. I hate seeing something special like that go to waste. The guy was a gifted amateur back in his days donning the Phil colours and won his share of medals too. ARGH... I don't want him to be mismanaged or trained the wrong way. I hope someone takes action and puts him under Freddie Roach's tutelage. Trained better, he can be a force to reckon with in the lightweight division or at super feather. The guy has legitimate KO power on both hands and has the physical dimensions to be competetive with big opponents. I think he was oriented to be a KO artist. He shouldnt be taught to think of himself as an in-your-face banger. :boxing:
your right man but look at it this way, If the thread was called Mexicans had a bad night it would be understandable but its called they got owned which just seems a little fucked up.how would you like it if there was a thread like this about good Pinoy fighters.Would you rather read bad night or got owned?
Hey hey hey??? Chill. A lot of us Filipino fans really respect our fellow brown mexicans (same skin tone) and I really felt bad seeing Erik lose. I would not even rub it in coz I've been a fan o' a lot of Mexi fighters. I recall years ago boasting JC superstar is a god to my friends (he was 92-0-0 at that time) and I still love the fights. By the way, just reminding you to take a look at the post that follows immidiately after this thread started. My bro said something like: "What are you trying to get to here?" -- well that kinda sounds like we're even defending our mexican bros to me. Heck, I would. :)
:DI'm a fan of Cotto and Pac. I can't believe this thread is already on its 9th page. I don't know if I'm going to laugh or entertain the possibility. All I can say is Pac is wise enough to know his limits. Roach and Pac declined a possible fight with Casamayor (and that's just at lightweight huh) saying that to even explore it was outrageous. Pac's doesnt have the physical dimensions to fight Cotto. Skill and all, Pac can't compete with Cotto on a catch weight. But if Cotto were to go down to Pac's weight, Cotto would get kayoed due to shortened stamina and a dehydrated body. :)
Can Morales or Barrera beat Cotto???
 :D HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... awww shit... Now I could see another 12 pages each for Barrera and Morales about how they could have a chance at knocking out Cotto. Good karma for ya, Parodius. Wanna start with Morales? (just kidding) :D
damn - I can't believe it, 12 pages of stupidity... I'm assuming it was a Pac-man nuthugger who started this thread. Get over it your fighter is not that great !!!
You know I understand you for hating nuthuggers but your last comment just rubbed the wrong way against his fans. Do you even know the difference between a nuthugger and a fan? Are you implying that all the stuff posted in these 12 pages is stupidity? Read everything.
Couldn't agree more mate, these two are in a class of their own at 168 and im certain Kessler will be champ again someday.
I tip my hat for both. Lots of class. Few fighters these days can make a good transition from being combative pugilists to gentlemen in a snap. Yes. Kessler will be a champ soon.
I believe Pac's fight tonight was a show of maturity on his part. It takes mature guts to not to use the same style that worked in every fight. Who knows... this same respect for Marco's game plan tonight ruined the Barrera camp's strategy because they were expecting a free swinging Pac on this fight.
