I just read an interview on boxingtalk with Jermain saying he is coming to the fight relaxed and not being as active as before. Well, the only way to beat Hopkins is to pressure him. The 1st fight was as close as he is going to get to beating Bernard. Playing Bernard's game and fighting a tactical fight will do Jermain no good. Either way, its a lose lose situation for Jermain because he can fight laid back or be a pressure fighter and is still goign to lose.
Taylor wins again. I keep hearing this crap how Hopkins will jump on Taylor. He does not come out and jump on fighters, not since Echols anyway. Taylor is going to be more relaxed and his punches will be more accurate because of it. He will make technical corrections and beat Hopkins again. Peace out.
Who are all of you kidding yourself? Taylor is the youngblood, who won first time around. THink of the confidence he will have second time around? Hopkins is gonna lose either by late TKO or UD.
you break my heart man, thats just sad. You have another thing coming if you think hopkins is going to be ko'd, or taylor is going to hop all over him and win. Hopkins is a far better tactical fighter than anyone out there right now, experience and skills wise. Sure he is old but he can still lay a beating down if needed.
:haha: ......anyway..i think Hopkins will break Taylor down and KO him around the 9th. Taylor is gonna be to confident (even is all of this is a plan to make hopkins think taylor is green). Taylor will be the less aggressive and i dont care what he or anyone said...everyone saw his face after the fight..he didnt think he had won and he knows inside that Hopkina was starting to f**k him up in those late rounds.
it wasn't so much what he said, but taylor seemed overconfident. even an old Hops is not someone u take lightly
He probably really thinks he dominated the first fight.
Again, if he fights Hopkins' fight, he cannot win.
Boxers always don't mean the things that they say on TV. I don't think his trainers would be that stupid to not think up a decent gameplan to beat Hopkins.

If he really slows down, then he's right where B-Hop wants him to be, and playing B-Hop's game will not get you a win. He's been doing it for too long to lose his own game.
If Jermaine does not come out aggressive, not 100 punches around, but at least as agressive as he was in the last fight, then he's going to lose, plain and simple.
hopkins has no power
I don't think Taylor would agree with that seeing as Hopkins had him reeling alot in the last four rounds.
The only way Taylor knocks Hopkins out is if Hopkins has just slipped too much. Taylor couldn't even land a good significant shot the whole fight. He threw mostly amateur flurries to the body in most exchanges which hardly landed. His big shots didn't come close to landed almost everytime because Hopkins seen them coming a mile away and slipped them.
I thought Taylor pretty much fought at Hopkins pace in the first fight and he is thinking of slowing down some more. That will definitely give Hopkins much more chances to hurt Taylor with that righthand.
this is the impression i get from the latest interview taylor gave to espn. if taylor thinks he can load up and throw one big shot at a time and knock Hops out ( which is basically what he's thinking these days ), this time taylor gets knocked out. the only way to really beat Hopkins is to SWARM HIM, old Hops is too good for anything less
yup, he thinks he can wait and load up for a big shot....and its not gonnna happen.

I'm not sure what the best approach would be for Taylor. Unless he's improved his stamina, he can't take a chance punching himself out like he did in the last fight. If you throw a lot at Hopkins, you're going to waste a lot of energy. Taylor tired in the last rounds could get knocked out. That said, the only reason Taylor won the fight was because he was busier. He took the fight to Hopkins and stole rounds on points. So, if he sits back, Hopkins could steal some early rounds for him. Taylor also might get hit more if he throws less, because Hopkins will be more aggressive. I really can't decide who I think is going to win this one. Hopkins is going to be more aggresive, I think, and that will give Taylor more chances to actually hurt him. But in a technical fight, Hopkins has the advantage .... I'm 50/50 on this one.
I agree that Bhops should've won the fight, Padilla. But I think Taylor isnt screwed just yet. He's got a nice attitude towards his chosen sport. After winning a disputable close fight, A LOT of fighters would end up making statements like "I told you I can do it coz I'm better than anybody else" thing. But Taylor said something which really impressed me. He told the media that he learned a lesson. WOW... look at that. I think a fighter who acknowledges his mistakes and learns from them is a humble and dangerous guy who shouldn't be taken lightly any given day. His maturity in such a young career is commendable. Taylor showed marked improvements after his fights. I think he wont be a walk in the park for Bhops in a rematch. I guess he won't be making the same mistakes. He's actually learning from Hopkins. :)
I beleive Hopkins won the first fight. It was close but Hopkins did enough to keep his title. Jermain Taylor is just gonna have to wait until Hopkins retires before he takes the throne.
If Hopkins is so smart, why didn't he win the first fight?
Taylor wins again. He is the one with more confidence and learned more from the first fight. Hopkins learned he can't sleepwalk the first 8 or 9 rounds, but I think he is just too old to pressure Taylor effectively for 6 or more rounds to get the decision. Taylor was headbutted, cut and tired and still Hopkins couldn't KO him. It won't be happening in the rematch either.
i think hopkins will to win this fight is going to be more ardent than ever before, he's old but he's maintained a healthy body his whole career and he isn't as worn and torn as one might think him to be. my confidence is with hopkins, i don't know about hopkins 'destroying' taylor- but i strongly believe he will beat taylor- then retire- then taylor ends up with at least one of the titles soon thereafter.
