Gatti-Ward
Barrera-Morales
Ali-Frazier
To me, I think Gatti-Ward is the best because it was all about heart in those fights. I cant believe they didnt have any brain damages, well except Mick's peripheral vision. Unfuckingbeleivable.
Ali and Frazier of course! It was a battle not only of the best heavyweights around, but a fight between the most famous athletes of their era, probably even of all time!
Barrera and Morales was a classic, but they fought at lower weight classes and though both are P4P greats, they dont command the fame or prestige of Ali or Frazier. For boxing purists it may be the best, but for ordinary boxing fans, it doesnt have the drama of heavyweights.
Gatti-Ward may be the best bar room brawl i have seen.It was brutal because of all the blood that was spilled. And the fact that they fought not for titles nor for P4P status, makes it a little more special. It goes to show they did it not for money or for belts, but for pride.
But counting all, drama, brutality, prestige...hands down, it was Ali-Frazier! ;P
i aint seen all 3 ali vs frazer fights so i cant comment on that, but the greatest trilogy ive seen is barrera vs morales, there trilogy is so unique, 2 mexican legends who would be the no 1 fighter in mexico right now if the other fighter didnt exsist, the fact that they have REAL HATE for eachother, its not just hyped up for the media, the fact that world titles were at stake for each of their fights and the fact that this trilogy was fought at 3 different weight classes, something that i dont think has ever been done before. the first fight was one of the best fights ive ever seen and was a war, non stop fighting, brawling and to top it off the decision was contraversal at 122 lbs, there 2nd fight at 126lbs started off slow but picked up from the 6th round and was a good fight with boxing early on and then in the latter stages both fighters went all out and again the decision was contraversial and then their final third fight at 130lb was a great fight with boxing and brawling and it put closure on the 2 fighters as to who is the best fighter between the two as the decision was correct and no one really argued as to who won the fight and it ended with no controversy as barrera was the clear winner and put closure on there trilogy.
What????? I agree to a point about Gatti/Ward and Barrera/Morales. But if you are talking about the Thrilla In Manilla then you must have only seen the first 3 rounds and round 13 and 14. Because in between was a god damned war. Go back and watch, without the bias of "Ali being the greates" and you will see.
it's also the fight's anniversary just recently.
Barrera-Morales because each installment was competitive. Gatti owned Ward in the rematch, and Ali outboxed Frazier by a landslide in their rematch. Barrera-Morales fights were all debatable and violent.

i've never seen the ali-frazier trilogy though i read some on it. So i cant comment on it.
However between the other 2 its Morales vs Barrera.
Their fights were all heart, hate, passion, everything and brought a level of skill to which Ward and Gatti's trilogy simply dont match up.
If you haven't seen ALI-FRAZIER then you need to put that on your list of priorties to do....SOON! That is a classic!!!! I can't decide between the three I love the most. Barrera and Morales was hate bred. Gatti and Ward was like two warriors fighting because they are warriors. No other reason needed. Ali and Frazier was a bit of hate and pride mixed with the need to be respected. I almost say that was the best because even to take second was god damned impressive. It is too bad they ruined each other's career....or ending of their career. I wish Frazier was able to redeem himself from his losses to Forman. Her might have had a chance to win had the Thrilla In Manilla not been so damaging. Frazier's my boy.

ali-fraizer wasnt competitive each time?
what fight were you watching?
I'm gonna go with Barrera/Morales. The Gatti/Ward fights were entertaining, but after the first one it was pretty clear who the superior fighter was. When I saw the trilogy, I thought Gatti was gonna come out on top right until he got hit with the left hook to the body. In the second and third, however, it was just one sided in my eyes, especially the third.
Barrera vs. Morales for me. I'm much to young to have witnessed any of the Ali Frazier battles. The Ward and Gatti fights were great. But Barrera and Morales are top fighters. I admire Ward and Gatti's courage but Ward is a punching bag, and so is Gatti when he fights top-level opponets (Mayweather, and Delahoya)
MAB/EM fight 1 you expect MAB to win, but EM won.
fight 2, the other way around.
the 3rd fight concludes it all (IMO).
These three.
Ali-Frazier -because it was legendary
Bowe-Holyfield
Barrera-Morrales
I didn't put gatti-ward because the the last 2 fights were a bit boring honestly.
Well, I think Gatti-Ward I showed that Gatti can also box and he was good at it and he can definitely brawl too. I dont know, because I like to see blood in any fights so I like Gatti-Ward better because it was bloody.
the only problem i have with your last statement is that you said gatti showed he could box. The problem with that is Ward couldnt he wasnt a great boxer nor was gatti they had skills yes but against ward most people could show they were good at boxing.
I love the drama that Ali-Frazier had from first to last before during and after the fight, the barrera v morales first 2 were great lacked that 3rd fight drama that makes a truly great trilogy, and gatti v ward was all fight action really nothing outside the ring to raise the feel for the upcoming match. All 3 were great trilogies but Ali-Frazier had the works

I've always loved Gatti-Ward. Granted they aren't on the same talent level of Barrera-Morales, but what they did was amazing. They managed to do something very special. I don't think there are many of boxers who would be willing to go through that much punishement, for no titles, but simply for pride and because that's how they fight.
I can understand how some people see that as more brawling and not really appealing, but personally I loved every minute of those fights. I like how humble both guys were. There was no trash talk or ill will, it was just two guys refusing to quit and taking as good as they gave. Each fight had great moments and each fight left you feeling amazed at what these two guys did to each other.
Barrera/Morales blows Gatti/Ward out the water in my opinion. Gatti/Ward was great but Barrera/Morales was on another level. Two great fighters beat out two exciting fighters in my opinion.
I have never seen the complete Ali/Frazier trilogy so I can't comment.
Bowe/Holyfield are definitely at the top as well.
