I only buy ppv events for the matchups. Even though the undercards don't factor in for me, it doesn't hurt to have quality fights supporting your main event. I can't see any reason why somebody would buy a ppv just because it's in Dallas. Jerry Jones should just sell a stadium tour DVD for all those retards who actually give a crap. I say Mosley/Mayweather will easily blowout the Pacquiao/Clottey fight.
First we had the USADA and now WADA!? I could careless what these bastards have to say. They need to tell it to someone who has the power to change things. I don't know how bad the testing is but didn't the NSAC just have Pacquiao and Mayweather tested by a WADA designated facility?
The only thing Margarito has going for him is his ability to take a punch. I would compare him to Librado Andrade. They both have a solid chin but their boxing ability is mediocre at best. I'm not sure how long Margarito was using those hand wraps but he definetly wasn't experimenting with the idea against Mosley.
No chance it happens, Pacquiao moved up to avoid another fight with JMM he isn't going back down to fight him.
Pacquiao wins this hands down. After the fight, he'll get charged for first degree murder.
A long but decent read. It's clearly a Mayweather hype but disguised with the occasional props to Pacquiao. I find it kind of hard to take the writer seriously when he states that the judges always score for the more active fighter than the effective fighter. Is it really that hard to believe, when a guy is throwing over a 100 punches a round compared to the 20-30 being thrown by the other guy? The 100 punches are not love taps either, it called overwhelming your opponent with offense to keep him on his defense. If you look at connect percentage, Pacquiao can throw 100 and land 30 of those punches. That's a 30% connect percentage. Clottey can throw 10 and land 5, giving him a 50% connect percentage. So, Clottey should have won based on the higher percentage? Suurrrreee.......
Why would anyone feel like they were let down? If they do fight, it will be the same Pacquiao and the same Mayweather, we've always watched. Manny will be his normal active self and Mayweather will be his normal passive self. You have an exciting fighter in Pacquiao and you have a boring fighter in Mayweather. I would never expect Mayweather to get knocked out because he's defensive minded. There's nothing wrong with that but it generally leads to boring fights.
Although I'm only half-filipino, I can't understand why there is so much whining about Carolla's comments. There isn't any race on this planet that hasn't had racist remarks directed towards them. It's obvious that Carolla is butt hurt that the Pacquiao/Mayweather fight didn't happen. It's like listening to someone talk shit about a chick because she went home with someone else. I say keep the negative Filipino and Pacquiao comments coming. It won't change the fact that Pacquiao is still beating the crap out of everyone.
I'm not a big fan of Mayweather but you can't deny his skills. I can understand why people are doubting his power and it's because they don't understand his skills. He has a game plan for every fight he goes into. If the fight is close and it calls for him to be more aggressive, then he starts throwing more. However, he basically controls the fight and his opponent. Why would you need to knock somebody out or put yourself in a situation where you could be knocked out? He picks his opponents apart round by round and makes them look stupid. Some people, including me, would call that boring because I love to see boxers throw down. But I never questioned his power because if the situation calls for it, he'll show it.
Take a drug test to prove I'm not on drugs? Why don't Mayweather put out a porno to prove he ain't a homo? I wouldn't watch it but until he does, he definetly is suspect!!!
Because his sexuality doesn't jeopardize his opponents health.
That's true but has Pacquiao left anybody retarded after they've fought him? please no Pactard jokes :)
Cotto won't have a problem going 12 rounds because Foreman is too soft fisted. He only has that problem recently because he went up against some hard hitters. The only problem I see is having Steward think he can't go 12 rds. Aside from the heavyweights, that Steward trains, all his other fighters put out bad performances. Look at what he did with Jermaine Taylor.
I pretty sure the chance of this fight happening is the same as it was the first time around. Why would anybody think PBF will bend on his random testing stance? Why would PBF agree to a cutoff date? With his win over Shane, he basically put himself in the drivers seat. The Pacquiao camp should take a fight with the USADA testing (no cutoff date) before they attempt to set anything up with PBF. This will at least let them experience and know what it's like and how much of an effect it will have on Pac. If all goes well and it turns out it isn't such a big deal, sign PBF up. I hate to say it but this fight won't happen unless it goes Mayweather's way.
No shit, Dana!!! It's "mixed martial arts" and "boxing". If an MMA fighter wasn't allowed to kick or grapple, I'm sure they would KO'd by any top fighter.
I think Holyfield needs to call it a career. I don't care if he does get quality wins, he has taken too many hits to the head and it's already showing. The K-brothers would make this guy a vegetable.
Let's be real, Mayweather and Pac don't really need each other. As long as there is viable competition from 140-154. Either of them can generate over a million buys against somewhat decent competition. But if they were to fight each other it would be the equivalent of what they would make in two fights.
If Mayweather offered the 14 day cutoff, he shouldn't have a problem agreeing to it. But don't bet on a 50/50 split. Mayweather isn't a fool, he's playing this out. He'll agree to the cutoff and will use it as leverage to get a 65/35 split.
People should be coming to Beristain for more insight. His prediction and reasoning behind it, blew my mind. One fighter is "spectacular" and the other is "unspectacular". Pure genius!!!!
Canelo is 3-5 years too young to fight any big names in boxing. I've seen a couple of his fights and he's nothing to get excited about yet. Stop the hype.
Among the boxers who loves touching gloves Winky Wright was the most annoying for me. Everytime he clashes heads, hits low or whatever he tries to touch gloves, I remember Wright-Mosley II after another clash of heads Winky tried to touch gloves but Mosley didn't feel necessary and stayed in his stance, but Wright winked to him like saying "common man".
I forgot about Winky! For him to be hitting Mosley up for some glove love says alot.
It was underrated because Pac made it look too easy! If De la Hoya wasn't getting his face smashed for the whole fight, everyone would probably give Pac his due.
Mosley takes it overboard! I understand it's a gesture of good sportsmanship but the guy is doing it on every break. Also, it doesn't stop at touching gloves, he always goes in for the dry hump at the end of every fight.
Everyone gets all wet when Mayweather takes a shot but can you imagine what it would be like if he actually was to go down? The MGM Grand would be the host of worlds largest orgy!!
Anyone know the name of this movie??? Me and my son watched it but we only caught the part where the van flipped over and like 50 little people came running out of it. I think it's DieHard 5, but I am not sure.
I went to put popcorn in the microwave and when I got back, the movie was finished.
Damn!!! LMAO!! That van was packed!!
