Yes, it is. Shoulder injuries are much more devastating to a boxer than an orbital bone or jaw.
You will not find a boxer in history who won a fight after their shoulder was impaired during the fight. You will find multiple fighters who won fights with broken jaws and eyes.
It's the most devastating injury, besides tearing your knee or Achilles.
Not interested in anything Stevenson does at 130, if he wants to be a somewhat household name he needs to go to 135 and mix it up with the rest of the big name players. He is huge at 130 and nothing wrong with it since he has no problem making weight but recognition wise he won’t gain much fighting at that weight no matter what he accomplishes
This is the fight I definitely wanted to see but never materialized, shame really. Betervieb did beat him in the amateurs but I’ve come across some articles in the past where they claim Kovalev got the short end of the stick once. That fight would have been a blood bath, both hit like a dump truck and honestly whoever landed first would probably have been the winner
Looks like he didn’t lose his eyesight so that’s good. As bad as this looks it seems like it’s just superficial damage so in the long run it’s not as bad. Just takes time to heal really
Right... Ima move on to the latest tally by me and Tat see if there's anything else that ain't accounted for by those 6
Mmm Okay - so we now got in additon
Dr House -40
Baltimore -50 (likely the multiplier issue)
Mlac -40 - ditto
El- Malo -30
Tracking back to 74 - 76 (Loma, Zepeda, Kenshiro) we got:
Baltimore -20
mlac -40
So......
https://www.boxingscene.com/forums/b...-november-2022
But he had no x3 remaining so it was replaced with a x2 so that's the 40 points difference
and
Also with no remaining x3 replaced with x2 for 20 pts difference.
Okay so final thread from last week:
Just got to track down
Dr House -40
Baltimore -30
El-Malo -30
https://www.boxingscene.com/forums/b...-november-2022
DrHouse:
Dr H had no remaining x3 replaced with x2 = -40
Would have been 120 as scored by Tat but his Rakhimov pick was after the fight had already taken place - that's the 30 points difference there.
Baltimore:
Missed the McCaskill pick which didn't score anyway but also had no multipliers remaining... = -30.
Quit taking my points, the man always bringing us down
My bad guys didn’t mean to make it harder than it should’ve been. I didn’t notice I had posted after the fight had ended
I wouldn’t really say either guy is a hypejob but at this point in their career I’d pick Teo by close decision. Mikey just doesn’t seem to care about the sport, he actually never really did to be frank.
Mikey never did care for the sport that was obvious from the start of his career. He was just fortunate enough to be born into a family of boxers who dedicated time to teach him the sport and most importantly guide him through his career and make as much money as possible with the least amount of risk taken
At this point I don't even care who fights who first. Get the middleweight division rolling already or the ones who really want that payday need to jump up to 168 and get that started. They have enough time till May for someone to do something and win that Canelo payday, but I'm not going to be surprised when they all sit around again doing nothing and begging for that fight
His Welterweight resume is poor, I certainly agree with that, but Porter is a top 3/4 Welterweight no doubt and this fight will prove how good/great Bud is.
However, what I’m seeing is several guys already moving the goalposts. Suddenly Crawford has to stop Porter because Porter is “shot” and a “part time boxer” and a load of other nonsense.
I think anyone who’s a genuine fan of the sport will admit IF Crawford convincingly beats Porter he’s the #1 guy in the division and justifiably a top P4P fighter- that’s coming from an Errol Spence fan too.
Those people will always have something negative to say. The only reason this fight is intriguing to me is to really gauge how good Crawford is at the WW division instead of having to rely on the eye test. Him fighting the Khans, Brooks and Horns hasn't really helped his case but this fight should give us a clear picture on how good he is at WW
Used to be with my brothers and cousin playing poker, drinking beer and after the fights we would head out to the casino but they all got kids now. Fights like tonight I usually order some food and stay and watch with my lady, bigger events I usually have friends or family over but those are rare events now. Like many people have said that's part of growing up I guess
As sloppy as Shawn is he does manage to get almost all his rivals to engage and make it a harder fight for them. He needs to come out aggressive from the start and land something big to rattle Crawford's confidence and work the body from the start to make him uncomfortable in the pocket. Make Bud second guess himself and don't let him establish the distance and pace of the fight or else he'll get picked apart. I'm just hoping for a competitive fight and I'm riding with Porter the more experienced fighter at WW
They are not doing Benavidez any favors by matching him with this low level opposition. Besides having a full camp to try and keep his weight on check he gains nothing from it, no experience no nothing. I was really looking forward to see him develop over the years but it looks like his regressed a bit technically by fighting the same level competition. Haven't seen him do anything different that he was not doing three or four years ago
But I'm not surprised that team Benavidez is taking a page from the GGG playbook. Why not just sit around beating the Lemieuxs of this world and wait for that payday. Ironically that this too will be one of his top three opponents on his resume
Show me any fighter in boxing today with that kind of offensive output vs anyone.
Old a$$ Chocolatito who by the way is still actually fighting better quality opponents than Benavidez :dunno:
It’s medical procedure following a knock out , O’Sullivan was rushed out quickly as well did you not notice that?
Even if they would have allowed him to stay did you not see how out of it he was? He was asking his father what happened and wasn’t aware of what just transpired, he wouldn’t be able to answer any questions at all
El-Malo-
going against the grain here, Rollie catches Davis coming in with a right. At least that’s the dream I had (no homo) so I’m just going with that
Romero -KO- Mid
Damn. Had no intention of staying up for this one but just randomly woke up needing a piss 5 mins ago... 5.30 in the a.m.. :nonono:
Damn that’s dedication
Ive seen many fighters give interviews after getting their dick knocked in. If Tank lost and left the ring he would’ve been vilified. Ain’t no excuses. Tank didn’t disrespect him during his interview. He knew it was fight talk. Your corner has to tell you what happened if you don’t know but you give the interview. He was more embarrassed than anything. Ain’t no excuses, sorry.
Like another poster mentioned before, it’s NY rules that you get escorted out and get checked by medical professionals after a knock out. If it was Davis who got knocked out they would follow the same procedure and of course people would clown on him like they are doing with Romero. It would probably be worse for Davis since he was the favorite to win and if he got knocked out by someone like Romero it would’ve been similar to the Maidana/Broner situation. Memes for days
I still don’t see Alvarez fighting anyone relevant in May but I hope that’s not the case. Charlo seems like a better fight than that freak show with Makabau plus that way people can stop mentioning Charlo and we can get that Benavidez fight for the end of the year faster
No way Canelo fights a journeyman like Dirrel on Cinco de Mayo, especially if he’s only fighting twice in 2022.
You don’t think so? I mean he already has all the hype behind him right now and I feel like his team won’t want him to fight someone that might derail the fight with Benavidez. At this point for a tuneup fight I’m sure people aka casuals they’ll still end up buying that crap fight on Cinco for his comeback. Don’t get me wrong I rather Alvarez fights someone else but who else has some sort of value at 168?
