Terrance Crawford Sues Bob Arum For "Revolting Racial Bias" that Hurt his Career and Other Black Fighters In Top Rank. | BoxingScene Community
"The lawsuit filed in the Eighth Judicial District Court in Nevada on Wednesday states, “Crawford shines a spotlight on the systemic racism that runs through Top Rank, Top Rank’s complete inability to properly promote Black fighters, and Top Rank, Arum and Todd DuBoeuf’s disparate treatment of Black fighters, including Crawford.”"

Hope this opens peoples eyes to people who say that systemic racism isn't real and who take advantage of it to put Bud down and hype up other fighters.

Crawford may have some valid points in his lawsuit, but from reading quotes of it, it's going to be kicked out of court with prejudice. And I only say that because "Good luck proving any of those claims." He's going to have to prove his allegations, and bringing up things Arum said about other fighters isn't going to amount to anything for Crawford.
Also, I have seen this happen against other fighters too who do not try to sell themselves. Just recently, we saw Loma fight Lopez, which should have been a draw, but two judges definitely didn't think so, one scoring one round for Loma and the other scoring two rounds. That's nonsense. And I knew that was going to happen because like Crawford, Loma doesn't do social media or try to sell himself. He stays in the Ukraine and hardly does any media. Lopez, on the other hand, can't stay off of social media and is constantly doing interviews. So based on that, we knew who Top Rank favored. Top Rank wants to make money, and Lopez seemed much more marketable than Loma, so Arum put the fix in, paid the judges to favor Lopez no matter what happened.
That's boxing, and if you're not making money for your promotor or you don't market yourself, then you're going to get screwed. It doesn't care about race.
Bob Arum paid Crawford millions to not sell PPV's and lost money on him.
Sounds racist.
Silence is violence, equality is violence,& looting is reparations, welcome to America in bizarro world:dunno:
While I agree Arum didn’t do a great job promoting him this seems like a dumb waste of time.
Bud knew that Arum has issues working with other promoters and that the welterweight stable at Top Rank was sub par at best.
Sounds like Bud is looking for excuses now that he’s a free agent and the big offers he was expecting don’t seem to be materializing.
Agee 100%. I defend Crawford all the time on here but this lawsuit is absolutely ridiculous.

How has Bob been racist towards Crawford? :lol1:
Bob done a tremendous job with Crawford up until around 2018- I think everybody would agree with that.
And even in the years following, Crawford was still earning great money.
I dont see this lawsuit going anywhere tbh. You have to prove prejudice/racism and unfair treatment of black fighters and Bud. Then again, the nfl found emails from gruden and he was fired so there is a small possibility

I dunno man. There was definitely something going on at Top Rank that meant that Crawford's face didn't fit, but to me it seems more likely that there's some other reason, like maybe he's made some off-hand comment in a meeting that Arum took offense at and started giving him the cold shoulder as a result. I'm sure the burden of proof for suing someone for racial discrimination is already pretty high, and doubly so when you're taking on someone with good lawyers and connections like Top Rank. I'm sure there's a lot going on here that none of us are privy to that could be really illuminating, but what I think he's doing here is ill advised to put it lightly, and I say that as someone who's a fan of Crawford and was pretty disgusted when Arum started openly ****-talking him not that long ago when he was still under contract.
I think crawford and arum was just a bad pair. For one Crawford hateed and never wanted to do any press, he always did the bare minimum and pair that with Bob Arum who is a lazy promoter it was only going to end this way imo.
