how is what floyd did pushing pacman around?
its called a demand, pac had a outlandish demand himself genius
What's outlandish? 10 mil/ lb overweight? Floyd came in overweight to a fight. Pac has proof. Also, bigger payday, bigger penalties. What? You want 300k per lb? Lol.
FLoyd takes another L.
If pacquiao isn't in his league, then fight him already. it'll be an easy fight right? what's the hold up? i don't get it. easy money, easy fight for at least $40 mil.
imagine that. a guy who calls himself Money rejected $40+mil.
Ok thats cool. I respect mma fighters but man I really just have no interest at all in that sport.
to each his own. i dont think it was OP's intention to sway people.
The jab is also really underutilized in mma. The reason body punching isnt used that much in mma though is that it takes more work to set up body puching in mma than in boxing. In mma jabs and crosses can be very easily countered with a knee to the face so the risk outweighs the reward. They can also kick to the body while staying at a relatively safe range for the same effect. because of this a hook or 2 to the body just gets tacked onto the beginning or end of combos to mix it up.
beat me to it.
Also the stances are different because in MMA you have to watch for the takedown. So they're alot more squared up than a boxer would be.
Frankie Edgar has some decent skills, I think.
MMA is more of like a jack of all trades. Boxing is one aspect of that. jsut like wrestling is or BJJ.
here are some interesting vids

Depends what you're looking for.
Cappys (Capital Hill) Most famous boxing gym in seattle. most classes are just fitness now. actual boxing lessons are at night but they do have an ameteur team. Queen Underwood's from here and she's trying to make it to the olympics. Expensive as hell. ranging from 126-150
Seattle Boxing Studio (Capital Hill): Opened up within the last few years. New Head Trainer is an amateur boxer. fitness and lessons. nice little underground gym. expensive though. ranging from 125-150. I think they're trying to compete with Cappys
Azteca Boxing Club (Renton): has amateur champs, a few pro's, a real boxing gym. no "boxing style" fitness classes here. I go here once in awhile. Walter Wright from the Contender trains here with his own trainer every so often. $70 month unlimited.
Bumblee Boxing (Seattle, the 'hood part, lol): No nonsense, straight boxing lessons. talk back to the trainer 200 pushups. forget equipment, 300 pushups etc etc. $50 i think. Trainer at Seattle boxing Studio is from this gym. Head trainer "bumble bee" trained under Eddie Futch.
Credit Boxing: a much smaller gym and trains out of a Judo studio. located in Renton
Ballard Barbell and Boxing Club: A new gym that has boxing and crossfit
There are a few others that are mixed with MMA etc. but the ones I mentioned are the ones that I know are just boxing (within Seattle)
I swear credit boxing guy looked liked it the boxing went down in the garage area. Azteca might be a good one to check out I think there only open from 5pm-9pm
Azteca is also open from 10a-1p or so. An assistant trainer opens up and trains people. Head trainer only comes in at night
If you live in the white boy North Seattle area, there's also the Uppercut Boxing Gym.
Here's the bio on the trainer of that gym:
http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Robert_Shannon
I think Robert Shannon is the trainer at MatChess MMA now in Ballard I think.
I don't think this is a triangle theory issue. It's a styles issue.
Floyd is a bigger, faster, stronger version of Marquez. Pacquiao was supposed to be such an "improved" fighter since Pac vs Marquez 2, but that clearly was proven wrong.
Imagine Floyd in there with Pac.
nope. floyd depends more on movement, deflecting and blocking shots. moreso than marquez who likes to counter right away with combos.
Yea, I heard they told Khan he won before they announced.... evidently Bruce Buffer was told Khan won too before they announced the card.
nah BRUCE Buffer told Machida he won last night.
who's tim bradley? his hometown would like to know too.
339 tickets sold lol
dude ran straight to uncle bob knowing TR-GBP aint doing business. lol
its like in a street fight with all the posturing....when someone holds them back the pu$$y starts mouthing off knowing someones there to stop it. bradley starts tweeting. lol clown
use angles and turn him. and use a stiff jab to stop him in his tracks. khan just covered up. didn't really try to move his head and counter. i like khan but he's a scared fighter.
He OWNED him with the Canelo-Kirkland fight. We hate Arum but all the promoters are the same, Oscar is no different and if GB ever goes to the top they will do the same as TR is doing now.
Why? Because boxing and its fans are cruel, you lose a fight and you are never looked at as the same fighter ever again, you lose and you're a bum. So all promoters are trying to protect all the money they invest in their boxers and trying to keep that BIG 0 in the L column of their fighter.
TRUTH. we could learn a thing or two frmo MMA. look at all of their popular and great fighters. multiple losses. Dana White knows how to run a business. He matches anyone against everyone. the only arum like move he did was with lesnar who became world champ after 3-4 fights lol.
They're casual fans for a reason, hopping onto bandwagons, annoying us real fans with their ignorance and biased opinions.
It's not an elitist mentality, but more so a "no-tolerance" mentality. I mean, how could someone have the patience to put up with a Pactard or even try and have a real conversation about boxing with them?
I don't care about the business side of things, let the fighters and their promoters deal with that. As a fan I'm interested in whos fighting who and so forth.
my question is how is that any different from, say, a fan of a local NFL team arguing with another when obviously their opinions are biased? you know what i mean?
in each sport, every fan has their favorite and their least favorite. it's accepted in those sports but not so much in boxing. where we have to appreciate the skill of a boxer solely. Whereas in the nfl, we can root against a team, simply because we don't like a player etc.
or
we're not supposed to like pass happy teams because they aren't balanced. those explosive plays are more for the casual fan. just like brawlers and offensive minded boxers are more fan friendly.
it just seems like theres a double standard when it comes to boxing compared to other sports.
Ward humble? i kinda dont buy it. he just seems so pretentious. afterll, who calls themselves SOG? Son of God? are you serious? you're Jesus now? here to save boxing?
he's got great skill but there's just something about him.....
Froch is cocky too but it either something you really hate or enjoy
only picture he has with a boxer.they say Manny was invited to the White House by Obama.....show me a picture of him and Obama together......dont worry ill wait.and no photoshopped ass pictures

But it comes at different angles :
Straight

Looping

From underneath
http://i796.photobucket.com/albums/yy248/boxvid/Pacquiao-Cotto.gif
So it's not what I call a real telegraphed punch.
the hell? the first is a straight, which OP is talking about. the second is a hook and the third was an uppercut.
the hell is a looping and underneath straight punch? lol
pac telegraphed the left hand all night against JMM. he saw the jabs and moved to pac's right.
boxers shouldnt get hit with telegraphed punches.
you can try buffalo wild wings up in lynnwood or maybe Jillians or even Rookies (new little sports bar in columbia city...they say they show boxing on their website).
Tyson Fury or Mike Tyson lol! Yeah you hit the nail, Mike basically invented the right hook to the body followed immediately by the right uppercut to complete the combo. Dude had the most vicious right hook I've ever seen from an orthodox fighter. Hagler is another one that comes to mind when he would switch to orthodox, but I guess he doesn't really count b/c 12 out of the 15 rds were anchored down by a southpaw stance.
wouldnt mike swith to southpaw to throw that right hook/uppercut? at least he squared up to throw it. i dotn think he was ever in that orthodox position when throwing them, right?
he does seem like he's putting on an act sometimes.
but he wouldn't be as successful or as popular if he didn't act like that
this. no money no popularity and humble or a jerk and rich
biased opinions are showing.
just because we all like boxing better (this is a boxing site afterall) doesn't mean it takes more conditioning than MMA.
Grappling requires ALOT of energy. BJJ and submissions require alot of energy as well.
being on your back and someone on top raining punches down on you can take a lot out of you.
i love how he keeps his left hand low when he throws that straight. perfect for the right hook from pacquiao. FLoyd knows this, which is why he's on vacation.
Pacquiao calls the shots. Sergio knows this thats why he said he wont go below 156. He just cant make it. That's why he said he wouldnt really bother with Pac.
Pac should stay at 47
