The difference was that Hagler/Hearns, Leonard/Hearns, Hagler/Leonard, Duran/Leonard all were in-house Top Rank fights. damn i just realized that so don king wasn't involved in those fights?

True, but I think the envirnment changes when we are talking about a fight of this magnitude. This fight is boxing history in the making. Like the war between the 4 kings in the 80s. It has to happen or it hurts the sport as a wholeThe difference was that Hagler/Hearns, Leonard/Hearns, Hagler/Leonard, Duran/Leonard all were in-house Top Rank fights.

they are both right. . . but notice how DLH didn't have a response to "make the canelo/kirkland" fight? look, ALL PROMOTORS are exactly the same .. . . they WILL make the best fights, but only when they feel the time is right to maximize profit off one fighter. . . i mean, come on, it's not like arum hasn't put on MANY, MANY excellent fights. . . but im not condoning his actions either. . . but all promotors keep in-house if they can, and "guide" their fighters and milk them as much as possible. Mayweather-Pacquiao is perhaps the most significant fight to be made this generation. Iole is way too quick to dismiss Arum's reluctance to sit down at the negotiation table (while bsing to the media), and really deflecting/down play its significance by comparing it to Alvarez-Kirkland.

What group of people own the media and does Bob belong to that group ? I can't give you the answer but all it takes is a little google search to find out. Oscar is my fave fighter ever, but as a promoter he is unprofessional as hell. Yes, and I see Iole's point but this exchange is pretty revealing. I mean, I called the bulll**** for what it was 2 yeas ago while everyone was still on the Pacwagon. But, like Oscar alluded to, Bob is a very powerful man who feeds a media that's largely scared to call him on his crap. Have you ever read or seen an interview with Bob where tough questions, or follow up questions were asked?

He OWNED him with the Canelo-Kirkland fight. We hate Arum but all the promoters are the same, Oscar is no different and if GB ever goes to the top they will do the same as TR is doing now. Why? Because boxing and its fans are cruel, you lose a fight and you are never looked at as the same fighter ever again, you lose and you're a bum. So all promoters are trying to protect all the money they invest in their boxers and trying to keep that BIG 0 in the L column of their fighter. TRUTH. we could learn a thing or two frmo MMA. look at all of their popular and great fighters. multiple losses. Dana White knows how to run a business. He matches anyone against everyone. the only arum like move he did was with lesnar who became world champ after 3-4 fights lol.
