[Video]Staredown: Andre Ward vs. Carl Froch

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Both Froch and Ward have some balls,I think this fight might be better then I thought at first...

Oh, he's always been a boxer? So what's the whole "He's changed his style into boxing and counterpunching" all about then? That Showtime and everyone else like to spout. He's not really a boxer, not a good one. Yeah, sure, he's not an all out swinging brawler who throws 100 punches a round. And yeah, he holds his hands low, and counters sometimes. But he's not really a boxer, nor a counterpuncher. He rarely slips shots and fires straight back with counters. His ability barely allows him to be a good boxer, his hands, feet and reflexes are immensely slow. So you're saying he changed his style after Taylor then changed it back when? Abraham? Glen Johnson? Or is that because he had two bad performances in a row after Taylor? He fought the same against Dirrell and Kessler as he always fights more like. That's always how he's fought. Dirrell and Kessler are just better than him, really. Froch holds all the advantages? Oh really? What about speed? Skills? Timing? footwork? Reflexes? Those are advantages that Ward holds, not Froch. Froch did not fight the same way against Kessler as he did against Dirrell..He was far more aggressive against Dirrell because he had to be(with Dirrell running and all)and tried to box more with Kessler(and was outwork based on the judges scores)and catch him with flush shots..But he has been going back to what he really is lately because he is not fighting taller guys with fast hands(imo)..Taylor and Dirrell both were taller fighters and both used their jabs to keep distance,Froch had to be overly aggressive to be in the fight..Why would he do the same thing with Ward who is short??Both are good fighters,I don't know if ya think I'm selling Ward short or what..But Ward is a good fighter who grew on me threw out the SS,but I said since this thing started Froch will win and I'm sticking to that..And tbh it's not that hard to believe,Froch is a good fighter,a smart fighter..Don't sell him so short bro.. And as far as talking about advantages,it was more talking about Taylor and Dirrell's advantages over Froch and Ward has neither(well except speed)but he does not hit harder then either and he is not as tall..

I get that feeling. I get the feeling Froch is delusional. And because he outboxed Abraham and Glen Johnson feels he is some kind of master boxer. Showtime, who genuinely know literally nothing about Carl Froch and what he is like as a fighter have jumped on that and now the majority of fans outside the UK also feel that Froch is some great skilled master boxer. Which of course has helped his ego. I think he thinks he can outbox Ward. :lol1: The guy couldn't outbox Jermain Taylor. Dirrell won that fight I thought. In the stream in which I watched that fight, the chat was surprisingly very well mannered and the Brits and Americans were cordial throughout the fight. ANYWAY, I don't think any of us gave it to Froch. I think I gave it to Dirrell by either three or four rounds (and I had three or four even since there was such little action). Froch simply did not land on Dirrell for the first five or six rounds, and Dirrell... well, Dirrell landed about once or twice each round. I am not in any way suggesting anybody goes back to watch that fight. It was awful and you won't get that time of your life back. :lurk:

i think his previously underrated skills have now become over rated lol. I dont mind him going on about that though. Its his "concussive" power in both hands i dont get. He hasnt come close to stopping anyone since Taylor. (Although tbf 3 outta the 4 guys he faced are iron jawed) I think he's funny, especially his press releases (dunno how much input he has in them though. Tyson Fury's are good too and they had the same promoter). Im hoping he drags Ward into a war and pulls of the upset, but i think im gonna be disappointed in both aspects. I reckon it'll be a dull fight and Ward will win. Shame, I'd love to see how cocky Froch gets if he won. Probably as much as you'd cringe!! I've never thought he was all that skilled really. The only time I've really seen him dominate a Top ranked fighter with his skills is Arthur Abraham and that's mainly down to the fact he averages 3.5 punches a round. Yeah, his power is definitely overrated. His KO% since the super six is an overwhelming 0%. I can't see it. I think Ward will be the one dictating how the fight goes. If Ward wants it to be an inside fight he will, if he doesn't, it wont'. Oh man, If Froch pulls this off he'll be unbearable. :lol1:

I am probably one of the biggest Froch fans on this site, but I just can't see him getting a good, honest, no-gift decision type of victory over Ward (excluding him KOing Ward of course). I just think Ward brings too much to the table, but I really hope I am wrong though, I love Froch's personality. I still laugh to myself when I think of his comment that "I hurt myself shaving more than Dirrell ever did". LOL. I am really hoping for the good of boxing that he can pull it out, as I would be much more hyped about a Froch vs. Bute fight than a Ward vs. Bute fight next.

I thought Ward came across better in that but i'll be cheering on the cobra (even though im pretty sure he'll lose) Half the time i dont think Froch realises wtf he's saying. He just rambles on saying the first thing that comes into his head. did u see the fight camp 360 when he's talking to hearn and he cant even remember what he said in the press conference even though he told the press to quote him on it lol? The "obvious" winner here seems to be Ward as he is the better rounded athlete and boxer, but I have learnt my lesson so many times thinking Froch won't make it, and then he does it again, that there is no way anyone can write Carl Froch off and be almost dead certain that Ward wins this. This is going to be a bloody good fight. Ward knows he won't be able to rough Froch up because he will get the same back. Ward is fighting a real dog here and one that won't quit, has a tough chin and can fight to the end. If Ward does win then he gets massive credit & likewise if Froch wins he gets massive credit.

Ward MUST go inside in order to win he can't let Froch stay on the outside and throw 60+ punches a round. No way Ward will get a decision like that. So activity alone will win rounds for Froch? Ward can box from the outside as well. Believe that. He's a boxer and he's always been.
