pacquiao's straight left has to be up there, although he is accurate as sht and gives you looks, the left hand is no worries unless you see a jab first, his lead left is fairly weak and more of a scoring punch
david haye's counter left hookercut-right hand
he just time after time will jolt his upper body to his left just waiting for that commited jab
Even with 20oz gloves on Pacquiao would hit you with that all day, and the first you would know about it, would be the blood streaming from your nose.
People don't even see Pacquiao's left coming but you think it is telegraphed?
Do you know what telegraphed is?
dickride Pac harder bro. marquez saw it pretty good lol
The first one is telegraphed. He winds it up, even his face tells you he was tensing up to throw a bomb. Marquez didn't pull back enough, and since Manny get's a lot of momentum, he comes forward a good deal..that's why you saw Marquez sidestep more in the other fights and basically made his normal lefts obsolete.
The second one was a beautiful hit that Ricky walked into, not so much that it was sneaky or non-telegraphed. Ricky went in, head up, chin up, Pac just throw the left and it landed like it should have.
The third is a good example of what I said earlier where it's not so much the angle, but it's weird that he's able to throw it from there with power. You'll notice he was moving right as he threw it and you can see the windup, but Cotto was in no position to avoid that one. That was great accuracy and timing by Pac, capitalizing on an obvious Cotto mistake.
Actually he feinted JMM before throwing the 1-2 that's why JMM moved his hands and created an opening for Pac to take advantage of. Did the same thing when he dropped Mosley.
Pac timed Ricky's movement and threw the left hand when Ricky stepped forward. Not telegraphed.
If that shot that dropped Cotto was accurate and well timed then by definition it's telegraphed.
Sorry but if a punch were so obvious it wouldn't land. That lead left of Pacquiao is NOT Telegraphed, thats why when he does throw that without doubling up the right jab, fighters cant stop it.
It was the only clean punch he was able to land when he did throw it on JMM, and he was landing it at will on Oscar.
I don't find that punch annoying at all, you have some real issues with Pacman?
Seriously telegraphed? lol
why not? he could always stutter step to set up his jab-left(like he does)
roy jones did it all the time too, he shows the left to toney.. and left hooks(albeit if i remember right he threw whilst going through a wierd down, up motion, not his usual leaping stuff)
there is also the waiting for your opponent to react, throw a jab cross, jab cross, he thinks a jab cross is coming, but instead you give him a jab, stop, cross and catch him reseting into his stance, pacquiao does it alot actually, he'll delay his left, leave it hanging behind for a little longer
you still know it's comin, you just done fuked up by moving in anticipation instead of at the last moment, now you're open
also i dont hate or have any issues with pacquiao :lol1:
maybe i have the idea of telegraph wrong, isn't it when you give off a signal that you are going to throw a certain punch?
EDIT: just re-read your entire post, seems you're pissed because you think i was talking about his lead left(a punch with different mechanics) to his left cross
well, im not(or was not in the OP), his lead left i wouldn't categorize as a cross(which is what i was implying to), atleast not the majority of time
But it comes at different angles :
Straight

the hell? the first is a straight, which OP is talking about. the second is a hook and the third was an uppercut.
the hell is a looping and underneath straight punch? lol
pac telegraphed the left hand all night against JMM. he saw the jabs and moved to pac's right.
boxers shouldnt get hit with telegraphed punches.
Lol, I forgot about Vic. I guess since Nonito put him down we don't hear from him as much as we used to. Vic is the epitome of telegraphed. He'll even stutter step into it. But that just adds to the point. Just because you see it coming doesn't mean you can avoid it if you can time it.
Yup. I can't believe people left Vic Darchinyan out, he was the most predictable. Kelly Pavlik is really predictable as well, same 1-2 punch never throws hooks or uppercuts.
Yup, the only way to avoid Pacmans straight left is to think he will throw it at anytime, and fight super cautious like Marquez and Mosley.
Pacman is the most unpredictable puncher in the game, he punches from all angles.
The only way to really avoid his onslaught is to always step back any time he moves forward and make the fight really boring and try to catch him coming in because pacman is so small he has to really stretch to hit you.
A predictable punch is Vic Darchinyan throwing that loaded up telegraphed hook with his chin first, Thats how Nonito was able to counter punch him all night because he kept telegraphing that punch.

Pac is a lot more accurate than given credit for, and because he can throw from pretty much any position with power (even if he's crossed his feet, has one foot in the air, etc) he makes things happen most people wouldn't be able to..especially against some of the guy's he's fought who aren't great athletes and put themselves out of position thanks to their style. That's a big compliment to Pac. Traditionally though, his regular lefts are usually pretty damn telegraphed. His lead left can be quick, and even if it's slightly telegraphed at times, his whole body moves so quick with it that even if he misses, he'll roll under and get away with it.
But look at a lead right that seemed to come from nothing here from Ali at :25 seconds. That to me isn't telegraphed.
i love how de la hoya tried to jab pac and pac kept catching him with a lead left then stepped to the side and hit him with a right hook it was a thing of beauty to watch
Pacquiao doubled the left and sometimes trebled it, before Oscar knew what was going on.

Yeah this guy is weird. He doesn't know what a telegraphed punch is. Even some of the biggest Flo-mos wouldn't say that about Pacmans left hand unless they were a troll.

Seriously telegraphed? lol
he set all those shots up with his right hand to generate knockdown power for his left
But how can it be telegraphed if it can come from 3 different angles?
Jcc Jr right hand.
Pac's left is telegrphed most of the time. His lead left is quick, but compare it to Floyd's lead right which comes out of nowhere and you'll notice signs of Pac grtting ready to throw it. He sometimes starts moving to the right as if to prepare to roll that way. Pac has fought guys with not the greatest defense and he lands it because he's just plain faster. Seeing it is one thing, dodging it is another when you physically are slower or never had the best reflexes to begin with. Pac's best asset with his left is being able to throw it with power when his footing is off or he is off balance. It's not so much the angle, but I think its just the fact he can ge the punch out at all thats surprising. We've seen him falling sideways and land knockdown punches, etc. His leg strength must be insane. This is one of the reasons his cramps dont surprise me. Pac's strength comes from his legs and sometimes he gives sign of his left through his feet.
