6. Roy Jones Jr. - Jones Jr. earns a lower rating because of his reluctance to fight. Whether he is afraid or picky, he has still managed to gain a reputation as a strong pound-for-pound boxer.
all you need to know about that shitty p4p rankings
you SAID pound for pound rankings, and those were the offical rankings in 2001. Sorry pal but you pretty much pwned yourself there. i also think oscar was ranked in the top 5 as well when hopkins beat him.
Wlad by obvious ko. povetkin hasn't beaten anyone, and chambers gave the fight away because he was unsure of himself. wlad is on another level, and is this era's greatest heavyweight.
From last i've seen from both fighters and i know it's not related Pavlik KOs Dawson easily. Still i would love to see this fight!
pavlik is a middleweight pal, he would be destroyed by dawson. the power difference would be bigger than expected. kessler would destroy kelly too.
I like Margarito and his style a lot, but its getting to the point where people is doing some overrating here. Margarito is better than Mayorga, however styles makes fights and Margarito was never a one punch banger like that. Mayorga was also able to scare Forrest and get into his head even in the press conferences. I like Forrest by decision. Margarito has not beaten an all around boxer like Forrest that will stick to his game, and his track record is not good against fighters that are as big or even bigger than he is.
but joe is the only legend in super middlweight. the rest are young fighter that is also untested. kessler has fought joe now so he has experience. he had to dust off some rust in his last bout but he should be back to his old form and looking unbeatable.
how to you see this fight going in a few years pal? people say they will retire but they never keep their promise becuase they will miss the money and the fans.
calzaghe is still showing me good things. he has a sort of a craft that a young joe didn't have. just using all his tools and angles at this stage. and early joe was a banger and i'm not sure if he would be too successful if he still had that style
he still has good years to come if keep fighting. not being biased against joe, i can't see anyone beating him. he beat kessler, a man whom i met and even watched train for his fight with anrade and i though he couldn't be beat.
well ever since calzaghe beat my local hero, i have kind of been against him. not to sound like a wuss but that hurted to see kess being broken down like that and anything he tried to do joe had a counter attack for it. i like joe by hard fought decision but something in me wants to see jones knock him spark out.
silencers lewis would definitely beat purity but not too sure about Brewster. he hasn't had anyone come straight at him like that and that intense pressure. lennox would win the rematch though.
Either way you wash it, you can't say shit about Lennox's losses because Wlad's were worse.
And i guess you didn't see what happened to McCall and Rahman in the rematches?
mccall was a heroin addict by that point.
6 years after Lewis beat him, Mercer was pretty much done by that point.
after he beat Witherspoon he went on a string of wins and wlad was the only one to beat him after that and he was the first to stop ray, and that's a great accomplishment. so he was still good.
Tim Witherspoon? He was pretty much done as well in 1996. Mercer was over the hill.
it was one of the best heavyweight fights ive seen, and it ended it a split decision, so witherspoon still had a lot left. mercer is shot since wlad did him that way?
must agree my fellow eastern euro brother. wlad would ko rachman, maskaev did and he just wasn't that good and wlad is better than him in every way. mcall was better than rachman and could slip something sneaky in there the way he did lewis, but wlad would prevail. he had better experience.
Wlad was only 21, had never gone past 6 rounds, only weighed 225 lbs....Wlad beat the shit outta Purrity for 10 rounds and completely ran out of gas and collapsed from exhaustion...Wlad never even went down from a punch.
That fight is totally irrelevant....it was 11 YEARS AGO
yea because the corner stopped the fight because wlad never been in that position before and would have been stopped i admit, but he was green and lewis had experience and was a champ when he lost to mccall.
purity was wlad first step up in competition pal, and wlad was green. he is better now and would beat both of them, because he has a more relaxed style that he is comfortable with meaning he wouldn't run into any dangerous counters like lewis.
Mercer, Holyfield, Morrison, Mavrovic etc. tried to go at Lewis and failed.
i mean from the opening bell and stay on him the way Brewster did wlad. i haven't seen no one come at lewis like that and stay on him even risking being stopped themself, because Brester was almost knocked out. they all boxed lennox and came in at points.
It ended in a clear UD for Mercer, Witherspoon was done, his best days was in the mid to late 80s and the fight was in the mid to late 90s, Mercer didn't fight Klitschko until 2002. Mercer wasn't the same after his layoff.
witherspoon's camp protested after the fight. after that mercer went on a string of wins and wlad was the only one to beat him after lewis did when he was still good. it doesn't take away the fact that wlad was the first to stop him which is impressive.
Williams. Too fast and his volume punches would offet anything Mayweather would even think about doing. It would resemble Wlad vs Ibragomov with Williams being Wlad.
Someone finally told me what an alt was and no, i am not an alt pal. why would anyone need a lot of accounts to say what is on their mind? This is serious pal, i really wanna know about some of your opinions of Wlad.
