i don't get people saying lewis is so greater than wlad, when he got knocked out by these caliber opponents. wlad on his worse day would beat rachman. be nice, i hate it flame wars and it will be done of that in this thread.
Wlad was only 21, had never gone past 6 rounds, only weighed 225 lbs....Wlad beat the shit outta Purrity for 10 rounds and completely ran out of gas and collapsed from exhaustion...he never even went down from a punch.
That fight is totally irrelevant....it was 11 YEARS AGO
Wlad had gone past 6 rounds, he defeated Everett Martin on a 8 round UD!
Lewis vs Purrity >>>>>>> Lewis by brutal KO.
Lewis vs Brewster >>>>>>>>>> Lewis by brutal KO.
It works both ways.
Lewis beat Rahman
Oliver "crackhead" McCall had a mental breakdown and started crying....Lewis didn't really avenge that loss
Yeah Mccall was in no fit state to be in a ring.
witherspoon's camp protested after the fight. after that mercer went on a string of wins and wlad was the only one to beat him after lewis did when he was still good. it doesn't take away the fact that wlad was the first to stop him which is impressive.
I'll give him that.
He fought no one of note prior to fighting Klitschko.
It ended in a clear UD for Mercer, Witherspoon was done, his best days was in the mid to late 80s and the fight was in the mid to late 90s, Mercer didn't fight Klitschko until 2002. Mercer wasn't the same after his layoff.

If it's so totally irrelevant than that should make the Rahman fight against Lewis irrelevant as Lewis brutally knocked him out in the rematch. No? It's gotta go both ways mate. At least Lewis made the rematch immediately and knocked him out after completely outclassing him. Rahman, unlike Puritty, was actually a decent heavyweight champ as well. What has Purity ever done?
it was one of the best heavyweight fights ive seen, and it ended it a split decision, so witherspoon still had a lot left. mercer is shot since wlad did him that way?

Tim Witherspoon? He was pretty much done as well in 1996. Mercer was over the hill.

Wlad beats these guys, But you never know they both could catch Wlad like they did with LL. Wlad is just so much better then these guys skill wise.
after he beat Witherspoon he went on a string of wins and wlad was the only one to beat him after that and he was the first to stop ray, and that's a great accomplishment. so he was still good.

6 years after Lewis beat him, Mercer was pretty much done by that point.

Lennox on his deathbed wouldn't have lost to Ross Purity.
Lennox Lewis>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wladimir Kiltschko.
The End.
Anybody can get caught with a lucky punch. Otherwise, there'd be no such thing as an "Upset KO win" in boxing. Both Wlad and Lewis had their share of this. The difference was that Lewis got immediate rematches and avenged his losses, whereas Wlad left two of them in limbo (for his brother to avenge, it appears), and only avenged the 3rd after a great deal of time had passed. Basically, his self-confidence has been shot to shit. I'd hoped he'd regain it by now.....maybe in the future. If he were more confident, and had that predatory instinct his brother has, he'd be absolutely, unquestionably, unstoppable by anyone else in the division.

on his worst day? I'm thinking Rahman KOs Wlad if we're talking the Wlad who lost to Purritty or even the Wlad that showed up against Davarryl Williamson...
Yeah wlad is very open to a counter when he throws his right hand but he has not faced someone that can exploit it, except for Sanders.
Only ONE leigt knockdown against Peter....Wlad dominated that fight and beat the shit outta Peter...If there was a 13th round Peter would've left the ring in a body bag.
Wlad let Thompson hit him...he knew Thompson couldn't hurt him
Your boy David "I can't even take a punch from a super middleweight" Haye would get KO'd by Thompson
yeah Wladowns thinks McCall would not counter Wlads right hand the way he did Lewis he is living on clowd nine ,McCall did'nt just throw some lucky punch or a wild shot over the top he set the punch up by rolling with Lewis right them coming back with the counter right hand/hook
yeah cookoo

That's because he only faces overweight bums.
do me a favour he was down 3 times against Peter he was open everytimes he threw a shot against Thompson if you mean he does not take chances and jabs all night like against Ibragimov or holds like he did against Thompson then fair enough :lol1:
Wlad has visited the canvas more times than Lewis and against inferior oponents what does that tell you
