Seems Floyd & Pac Stans have a hard time with hypotheticals.
I think to judge this, you have to ask yourself "If Bradley beat Manny, then in 6 months beat Floyd, then retired.... Where would you rank him?"
I'd say it'd be an increadible and amazing year for Tim, but I'd say he retired too early for us to really know if he was an ATG, we wouldn't even really have known if he was a better welterweight or light welterweight. So I think if Bradley were to win those fights, he'd have a huge headstart to ATGness but he'd have to continue to have a great career and hold the p4p 1 spot for awhile before achieving ATGness.
Its because in the 21st century you're "green" until you lose and then when you lose you're "exposed" and if you lose twice you're "A shell of himself" or "past your prime" which oddly enough is reference to when you were "green"...
Boxing is hard...
Has anyone coined ""Kelly "The Ghost of Himself" Pavlik?""
I saw a few of the vids, he looked like a B+ fighter. Then again, he never looked too special even when he was kicking ass and taking names... So its tough to say... I'm going with a firm "maybe" and a sprinkling of "probably not"
would be nice to have him back though.
i dont know man Hattons band=priceless
Manny fans should unite at the Floyd-Manny fight and start singing Sometimes when we Touch
Worth the price of admission right there...
I think when manny said he'd take less money to fight floyd, he meant a 49 to 51 split.
Didn't Manny do something like that with Hatton? If i remember correctly the fight was almost called off over that 1 percent.
I think people are being to hard on the dude, I mean he just was in the toughest fight of his life, been rocked for the last few rounds and to his core he wanted to win. You ask him a question when he freshly embarrassed, marbles are rolling in his brain and he says some stupid *****.
To say he disgraced himself is a lil too far, he said his peace.
I agree to a point. But unfortunately this will follow him for quite awhile, you'll probably see this clip before any of his future televised fights. (much like you do with Ortiz's "i don't diserve to get beaten up like this")
I think without being brain scrambled he may have resisted saying that, but its out there, he'll have to come to terms with it, and I think it hurt his marketability. He went from a warrior with tremendous heart to a sore loser and a bum in people's eyes, in all of about five minutes.
13 year old's don't use alot of crayons in middleschool... Maybe Colour Pencils, but not so much on the crayon front. This writer clearly doesn't know what he's talking about...
I'd probably replace the crayons for colored markers.
I remember 8th grade, after we colored in our boxing rankings p4p lists we'd get naptime then recess.
It was a great fight... I fealt bad that one of them had to lose... I starting losing the "feeling bad for..." feeling after Juanma started making accusations that the ref was somehow corrupt.
Great fight though, hopefully it will be remembered as such.
I hesitantly picked Bradley vs Pacquiou - Both Timmy and Manny have a high workrate, and I suppose there could be a KO there.
I think Mayweather vs Cotto has a ton of potential, but also runs the risk of a floyd shutout with Miguel chasing him with a dumbfounded look on his face.
Khan vs Peterson probably the most even fight but theres going to be so much talk about "hometown advantage" and "Scorecards" and the way they'll trade punches but not hurt each other.... This just seems more of a fight for a boxing fan than a non-boxing fan.
I think the Marquez at +230 or the 4:1 on a win by decision is a good bet mathmatically. The fight is 50/50, and Manny seems to be on the downswing of his career. Marquez looks stronger than he did in the last fight. So its very possible that Marquez could pull this off. The odds make it a good bet.
I personally would take the +230 just to be on the safer side of things.
I'm not picking this because I think Marquez is going to win, I'm taking it because its a 50/50 fight with +230 and marquez has alot in his favor right now.
I'm not sure who's going to win... I just like the bet
As boxing fans I think we are lucky we keep up with this. In the beginning I would have said no. But now after looking and reading and watching, I can't miss this for the world.
That's how the promotion works... Take a match you're only kind of interested in and make it "must see tv"... 24/7 is pretty good at that.
Honestly I'm going to sit this one out and watch the replay, unless a buddy picks up the PPV and I'll chip in with beer or something.
After Pac/Bradley I need a better undercard to pay to watch pac fight anyone other than Mayweather. And I think that fights about 3 years too late anyway.
I think Prime 140 hatton wins this... but its tough to say, I don't feel we've really seen enough of Danny Garcia to know how he compares to a prime Hatton.
It's one of the greatest... But close rivalries are usually that way...
Louis vs Schmeling
Bowe vs Holyfield
just a couple greats.... it'd be hard to say what rivalry should be concidered the greatest.
Immediate drug test is pointless because that stuff is cycled out
This...
Also any legitimate belief that PEDs were used should have been dealt with pre-fight.
I wouldn't put money on this one, but if I had to, I'd choose Demarco. But I think Molina can impose himself on Demarco and take this one. Good chance at a very close war, this is really good matchup.
Roach is having a terrible year, but in reality..... Manny beat Timmy and was robbed (i understand alot of people believe Manny robbed Marquez, but that doesn't mean that the fight between Bradley and PacMan was scored correctly).... Manny was robbed, Khan is chinny, we all knew that, and he got caught... Chavez Jr has been overrrated for a long time, he's just now getting good, but he's nowhere near Martinez level.
So really, Roaches two flawed projects (khan and chavez) lost... and Manny was robbed... Not a great year, and if he didn't stretch himself so thin he'd probably do better... but I don't see this as a sign that he's a **** coach or anything
next should be winner of martinez/chavez... Then Ward.... Then Mayweather... Then Paulie Mallinaggi..
(honestly, if he wins here against canelo, I still won't be convinced, Canelo has some openings and can be hit, don't forget little cotto got his attention a few times) Don't get me wrong, I love Joseito Lopez's story, and I hope he continues this real life Rocky Movie, but I don't think a canelo win means he'll be competive with mayweather... The fight would sell like mad, so maybe it should be made... but I don't think he's neccessarily ready.
Its basically fencing only boring. The scoring is wacked, the refs are all over the place. I hated during the Beijing games too, but I'd been watching alot more amatuer fights lately, some old, some new and figured 4 years would be enough for me to get excited about it again.... Nope... Watched the first rounds of a couple different weight classes, couldn't stay awake. Theres some good talent out there, and its the freakin' olympics lets take the gear off and scrap for a few rounds.
I don't even really mind the headgear, the scoring system is what ruins it for me.
Just can't win with boxing, leave it to judges to score, they'll screw it up. Put it on a point system, and all of a sudden its a whole new boring sport.
Does this mean that after Trout beats Canelo, Canelo is washed up?... or would it mean that he was protected and finally exposed?
How come Trout can't get any respect around here? The guy has always been good to me at the sportsbook.
what does a boxer have to do around here to be legit???????? Any and everything is shunned by the posters here
Be retired before most people on here were born. That seems the only way to get respect.
