But we all know thats not going to happen. I dont like Mayweather at all. But I still have to respect him as a great fighter.
If he does stand toe to toe with Oscar as he promised... he's ganna get knocked the fuck out and quick.
If he does the regular Mayweather and runs around trying to throw short weak combinations_ it wont be nearly as effective...remember that he's fighting OSCAR DE La HOYA, not Carlos Baldomier.
De La Hoya will move forward putting the pressure on Mayweather who probably wont be at his peak of speed being that this is like the 4th time he's moving up in weight.
I feel more than confident that Oscar will expose Floyd's guard and come out with a KO victory over Floyd.
Cotto Has Already Made It!
I don't really think he can. Well, i hate cotto for being plainly put, evil. But putting that aside and sticking to facts only, can he really make a statement in boxing? I think not, for two reasons(dispite the hate):
His chin.
His style.
He fights on the iside and his not too kin of using the jab (maybe his height has to do with it?) and his chin is really poor. Fighting like that is more than likely he will get hit, alot. All sluggers do. I don't see anyone who can do that sort of damage though, margarito has the style for it but he seems kind of small for cotto, i don't know. Anyway, whoever destroys him i hope they hit him in the nuts first and say "how's that feels huh?" TWICE
Cotto proved he has a decent chin. People forget, Corley hit him in the temple. A shot that would send 80% of fighter down. That has nothing to do with his chin. He was dry against Torres who did rock him in the chin. But to Cotto's defense, Torres was 28-0 w/26 KOs. I dont care if Torres' style is amateurish, with 98% KOs, you can fuckin hit, i dont care who you been facing. Zab is a great puncher and he did tag cotto and stun him, but Cotto recovered very fast now that he's at a more comfortable weight class. Cotto's style is definately a plus because its cryptonite for fighters who like to utilize the ring> trape them while they retreat and destroy them, He did it to Paulie, Quintana and Zab. He would do the same to mayweather. Cotto times his punches well against fatser opponents. Mayweather is not used to getting hit at all, Cotto is known to wreck faces. Since mayweather isnt used to getting hit he would swell easily the devestating and well timed punches thrown by Cotto. If Mayweather made it and he barely beat Zab, Cotto will def. make it> de destroyed 2 opponents Floyd just 'beat' (Corely and Zab)
plus Cotto does much better against Orthodox fighters than south paws. Floyd will not fight Cotto cuz he's scared. He said he wasnt impressed by Cotto-Judah. There's no way that fight couldnt impress you, it had everything a fight is supposed to have. Mayweather is just angry cuz he knows Cotto is ganna steal his shine, not to mention he knows he cant deal with Cotto's style

Hatton cuts and gets mouses on his eyes so easy even against fighters who arent big punchers like collazo_ cotto destroys faces. its safe to say cotto would beat hatton by TKO easy. Cotto is also bigger and stronger than hatton. if hatton trys to bully Cotto and hug him_ cotto will throw this whimp through the ropes. Cotto wins that fight easy if it ever happens

I agree that Oscar has the better resume and is the best ALL ROUND fighter from the list with Tito right behind him... however take into consideration, many of his big fights he took after tito had already faught, which let him see train for a better approach to a fight being that him and tito normally approach a fight in the same mannor (unless they're fightin eachother which brings me to my next point) -> but he did not beat Tito despite the controversy, no one can remember Oscar ever running in a fight, but he ran like a bitch against Tito. That makes it obvious he felt power that he didnt like and saw the great possibility of getting TKO'd... smart for him but not becoming of a fighter and Hall of Famer which he with out a doubt is. i agree with you_ but you see even though cotto isnt fast as Judah_ he picks his shots wisely and times his punches well. He also never backs up and comes forward all night. That is Floyd's cryptonite. Judah dominated 5 of the first 6 rounds against Mayweather because he kept moving forward and didnt give Floyd a chance to get his punches off first and move out. The judges were obviously biased. Also see the first Jose Luis Castillo bout with Floyd. Castillo was robbed. And if any one emulates Castillo's style it's COTTO! Everyone is upset at Castillo for his poor performance against Herman in his last fight_ which Herman arguably could have one. But people forget that Hatton was very displeasing in his last 2 fightes. And both were championship fights. Castillo just felt he didnt have to train because he thaught this guy was nobody, that is no excuse, however it is much more understandable. Hatton trained for his championship bouts and still looked like shit. I think Hatton just caught Tszyu at the right time, while he was injured and was over the hill of his prime. Marquez and Sharmba Mitchell are both 5'7", Mayweather looked bigger than Mitchell and he stayed right in front of Mitchell's face throughout the fight, he wasn't scared of Mitchell's power.
Floyd's not going to be scared of Marquez's power so I think Mayweather is going to stay right in front of him and I see Mayweather pressing the fight. Marquez however is a lot more skilled than Mitchell and he actually prefers when fighters are pressing the fight.
The big question is whether Marquez is fast enough to counter Mayweather?
