I don't really think he can. Well, i hate cotto for being plainly put, evil. But putting that aside and sticking to facts only, can he really make a statement in boxing? I think not, for two reasons(dispite the hate):
His chin.
His style.
He fights on the iside and his not too kin of using the jab (maybe his height has to do with it?) and his chin is really poor. Fighting like that is more than likely he will get hit, alot. All sluggers do. I don't see anyone who can do that sort of damage though, margarito has the style for it but he seems kind of small for cotto, i don't know. Anyway, whoever destroys him i hope they hit him in the nuts first and say "how's that feels huh?" TWICE
Touche.
And beautifully put. :beerchug:
Thanks man......I just tried the link myself and it's not working for me.
P.S. Alien_Tank can you check the video please? The link is no longer working.
ROFL, hell no. I'm not a sensationalist or think Zab cowardice. Neither do I think Cotto had low blows in his game plan the whole time.
What I am saying is that Judah's style for this fight lent itself to get hit low more so than it would've otherwise been. It is partially his fault. Just like Toney's bending at the waste style lent itself to be hit behind the head when he fought Peters.
Touche.
And beautifully put. :beerchug:
I understand, Left. This doesn't establish much for my taste though.
.....I take it you are on this movement that Judah was deliberately trying to get low blowed?........

Someone posted a video of a real hard Judah low blow in the 3rd round and Cotto just kept on fighting without saying anything. Stop making excuses about the low blows.
I saw that video.
It was on the beltline, was it not?
....Unless you're trying to suggest Cotto's testicles are better at taking punches than Judah's testicles..
Yes, that and a few other times when Judah is hopping back. In the video you can clearly see that Zab is on his toes several times when Cotto has come in.

It's of the second low blow right?

If you can't see the clip then you can't comment about whats on the clip. Its actually a VERY good video and if you watched it with an open mind I think you would have a change of heart.
Seriously just watch it.

By that statement Cotto is telling us something.
By apologizing to Zab for what he did as soon as he was planted in front of the microphone he's telling us something.
I can't see that clip - but I already know what it is.
What I saw was Zab fully covering his abdomen.
Cotto has about 45 minutes to change the trajectory on that punch, or not even throw it to begin with - but sure enough he nails Judah directly on the sweet spot.
I have changed the trajectory on a blow myself. A full speed blow.
On top of it all - I don't seen any goddamn "jumping." None.
The only man who made excuses and told lies that night was Miguel Cotto.

I see what you're saying, Free. I really do like Cotto and think highly of his character. If there's a moment in there we can't explain it's impossible to try.
Yeah, those shots were pretty sweet. :beerchug: I was howling when I saw them. Too bad the rest of his game has more holes than swiss cheese.
You said it first and you said it best, brotha.
Zab Judah is a one handed fighter. You completely called it. :hail:
Your analysis was the stuff that I feel was the most accurate now that it's over. :fing02:
thanks when I start workin for Shobox Ill reserve a slot for you as guest analyst!
I said nothing about Judah dramatizing the effects of the first "low blow" I have no reaon to assume it didnt hurt as much as he led me to believe it hurt. The point you make make about Judah's arm pushing Cotto down is perception so neither you nor I know the real affect of that but as you said not my point. Cotto did hit Corley on the belt which many refs call a legal shot and some dont and he went down from it, Torres was hit low maybe twice in their fight but the whole time Cotto was pursuing him like a mad dog, thst happens. There is no pattern other than Cotto comes after your body all night long and with bad intentions. The best way to deal with it is effective movement and a good hard jab or preparing to slug it out with him and landing in combinations enought to KO his ass before gets you. Its easy to say hard to do. Cotto is all class, his apology was intended as just that an apology for something that happens in boxing in almost every good match Ive seen. It was not an admission of yes I intended to hit Zab low to help my chances for victory. Taking my own advice,,,,,Could you believe that first wicked combo Judah landed on Cotto in round 1, the lighting quick and powerful left uppercut and the power left hook he landed both flush and clean and about the best shots Ive ever seen from Zab. I thought for a brief second there goes my points!

Well, to be fair I have tried to move along.. But my pals wouldn't let me. :lol1:
The argument that Judah "pushed his head down" is ridiculous.
You can see just by watching - that is NOT what happened. That is lame, lame, lame. Just because Judah's arm happened to be there means squat.
There's not enough force and pressure for that to be the case..
NO WAY!
But I realize that's not the crux of your argument anyway, Freedom.
The overall argument that Cotto is not dirty is extremely flimsy, brotha.
He low blowed Corley and Torres according to some here - but I don't want to get into that..
Either way, I believe that is a called a "pattern of history." :fing02:
Also, when you dismiss the first low blow and try to pin the "acting" thing on Judah - that is akin to blaming the Polish for starting war with Germany during WWII (which is what they claimed)..
If we're going to make accusations then we have to have motive - and Cotto is the man who had the motive when the first low blow occured. Why Judah would dive on the canvass and pretend to be hurt in the 1st round??.... Why Judah would dive on the canvass and pretend to be hurt while he has momentum in his favor is well... UNLIKELY to say the very least.
But honestly, I could care less.. Winning is winning as far as I'm concerned.
And Judah most definately did not win.
If Cotto cheated and he can't win at this level on equal terms; we will ALL find that out much sooner than later - so there's no reason to argue.

wow, i am amazed at how this has become a talking point to grade Miguel Cotto by. If you really want to get down to details there is enough video to support the fact that the first "low blow" was on the lower part of the belt. The second "low blow" was in the jewels 4 sure and also was low partly due to Judah throwing a right I believe which pushed Cottos head low. Now just for a minute lets pretend that there was no Judah punch that pushed down on Cotto's head, the punch probably would have been low anyway, but to assume, assume and infer that the Cotto camp's plan to victory included Low blow tactics doesnt exactly ooze confidence and ethics and should only be incinuated if a fighter has a track record of dirty tactics, Cotto does not and people on here adding support to this are way off base. Let it alone, it would be a footnote at best if Judah would have gotten the job done and Cotto had been on the wrong side of the beating. I am very disappointed with Asian Sensation and will now read (maybe) most of his articles with a shade of doubt for his impartiality to fighters he may like or dislike. Move along people.

I appreciate your testimony, Left. :beerchug:
But you know I'm not the only one that thinks it may have been intentional..
We know who Iceman Scully is, and several people here know who I am.
Ryan (Sensation) also believes there was foul play involved..
Soundtraveler is also someone who gets paid to work in this sport - as a pro.
The fact of the matter is - the few people of actual repute here on this forum think it may have been intentional.
Anyone who dismisses all of us - is a fucking moron of amazing proportions.
Did it ever occur to you that just maybe Camp Cotto knew Judah would look for situations to take a dive anytime Cotto came close to the belt?
I know it.!
The second shot was deliberate.!
They figured if Judah was going to trick his way to a miguel cotto point deduction they might as well make it a real one. One that counts and hurts.
Camp Cotto beat Camp Judah at their own punk azz game.
:owned:
Judah claims how hard he is on the streets. He runs around with a gang at the age of 30.
He got out street smarted and Judah must be saying to himself damn it. If I only would have taken a dive in the second round too, Cotto might have gotten disqualified and I would have saved myself from the beating I knew I was going to get from the robot.
:owned:
Don't hate the player, hate the game.

cotto aint gona be in no p4p history.
figured you be able to empathize with that picture of Roy as your avatar. Talk about a guy who tore thru a division to get shit on and still does of course so far Cotto hasnt tested positive for roids.
Cotto will be ko against margarito when they fight in november,,,,Cotto is way overrated and he isn't strong enough to hurt margarito....i see margarito koing cotto in 2 rds...although once margarito disposes of williams...i think cotto will be avoiding margarito like gayweather because margarito cannot be beat....
It may take until the late mid rounds to get Cotto out of there because of his sheer determination to win and mental strength even when he's hurt. I basically see Margarito hurting him several times during furious exchanges before laying him out with a high volume of punches at which point the ref steps in to save Cotto. People will see what happens when Margarito walks right through Cotto's punches and hurts him every time they exchange shots. Cotto is not the type to back down or run so I see it ending badly for him and in violent fashion.
Cotto Has Already Made It!
I don't really think he can. Well, i hate cotto for being plainly put, evil. But putting that aside and sticking to facts only, can he really make a statement in boxing? I think not, for two reasons(dispite the hate):

Cotto proved he has a decent chin. People forget, Corley hit him in the temple. A shot that would send 80% of fighter down. That has nothing to do with his chin. He was dry against Torres who did rock him in the chin. But to Cotto's defense, Torres was 28-0 w/26 KOs. I dont care if Torres' style is amateurish, with 98% KOs, you can fuckin hit, i dont care who you been facing. Zab is a great puncher and he did tag cotto and stun him, but Cotto recovered very fast now that he's at a more comfortable weight class. Cotto's style is definately a plus because its cryptonite for fighters who like to utilize the ring> trape them while they retreat and destroy them, He did it to Paulie, Quintana and Zab. He would do the same to mayweather. Cotto times his punches well against fatser opponents. Mayweather is not used to getting hit at all, Cotto is known to wreck faces. Since mayweather isnt used to getting hit he would swell easily the devestating and well timed punches thrown by Cotto. If Mayweather made it and he barely beat Zab, Cotto will def. make it> de destroyed 2 opponents Floyd just 'beat' (Corely and Zab)
plus Cotto does much better against Orthodox fighters than south paws. Floyd will not fight Cotto cuz he's scared. He said he wasnt impressed by Cotto-Judah. There's no way that fight couldnt impress you, it had everything a fight is supposed to have. Mayweather is just angry cuz he knows Cotto is ganna steal his shine, not to mention he knows he cant deal with Cotto's style
I still think that this video:
http://www.viddler.com/SMFV1/videos/27/
and Cotto's statement
The video proves exactly what Cotto was saying. Again not that Judah was intentionally get hit low but his style was making it so that he got hit low.
By that statement Cotto is telling us something.

The video proves exactly what Cotto was saying. Again not that Judah was intentionally get hit low but his style was making it so that he got hit low.
