You know the thing about him is I really dont think he has a glass chin like people say. I think he actually has a solid chin.
But when he lunges with punches and he throws them low too. Especially the right hand when he walks in....someone will be able to go right over it and make him pay 4 it.
i agree, a left hook counter would be the perfect shot for when he lunges in. Only a select few would be quick enough to execute this however.
Had Berto and Mosley had fought in Jan, I think it would of been a great fight, but ultimately Berto's chin may have gave him away. Most likely, Mosley would of won. That's the same reason why he could lose to Cintron. But if they fight in the fall or winter, more likely than not, I think Berto would win, though he certainly could lose. Mosley isn't getting any younger, and that's why I think he would want to fight guys like Cory Spinks, the IBF champ, and the WBA interm champ Senchenko to retire a champ, or at least face those guys before Berto.
at 154? Mosley has no business there. Id still pick him against Spinks tho. Spinks has even less pop than Malinaggi. I dont think Bertos chins that bad - hes been in with a few punchers
5'7 Berto vs 6'2 Williams? only one winner. 5'11 Collazo caused him all sorts of problems. Ditto Cintron, it would be the same. I think Berto could make 140, not easily, but he could, and if he did, he'd a be a major player imo
Berto's 5'8.5", and I'm not sure how good Williams would be if he reached 147 again. I think your underestimating Berto a bit, because he's already a major player at welterweight. Not everyone needs a 4/5+ height advantage to be elite in a division, and Berto would lose alot going down to 140. Besides May and Pac, I don't see anyone dominating Berto at 147 including Mosley.
well tyson used to say he was 5'11, but i see your point. He is a player at 147 but because of his physical disadvantages he would not beat these guys i mentioned. Funny, i would give him more of a shot against Mayweather than i would against P-Will
I think he would of beaten 5'9" Collazo in a rematch, and appearently Collazo does too. He lose to non drained Williams, but he'd might be weight drained at 147. Cintron would be a tough fight for Berto, but he handled 5'11" Miguel Rodriguez well, and KO'd via uppercut. Not saying those two are on the same skill level, but at 147 he could win. Honestly at 147 the only guys that would be a sure loss are May and Pac. I really don't think Mosley will want it, at least for his next immediate fight.
You make your point well. I definently think Collazo is bigger than 5'9 tho, he was taller than Mosley, who is 5'9. Cintrons a tough fight, i pick Berto in a decision there. I DO think Mosley would fight him nxt - Mosleys not getting any younger.
Please refrain from posting if you are either so stupid or one-eyed that you can actually convince yourself that Paula didn't quit last night. All he does is spout drivel prior to fight night, purely to drive ticket sales and ultimately his own wage packet. Come fight night it's the usual story - dress up in drag, block punches with face, then quit towards the end when the going gets tough. An absolute disgrace to the sport.
Fingers crossed the next beating he cops at the hands of the next British prospect removes his power of speech.
Your a sad sad man who is 50 years old? you act like your 13, trolling sites spewing absolute attention seeking shite downgrading a man who took a pro fighters best punches for 34 mins when you would be lucky to last 34 seconds.
Have you ever boxed?
The UK is probably the only place in the world where you can drive in a car for 10 mins and the accent is totally different from where you just drove from. And no its not ghetto - just Northern
How times change.
2 years ago, 90% of ppl hated him.
Now, 90% like him.
Me? meh, he's grown on me, i used to like it when he was on espn and teddy atlas would rip him for being 'college educated'. Still, he's improved
I would have given the decision to Marvin Hagler, not because i thought he won the fight but because he deserved it, for his services to the sport. Sugar Ray Leonard is an ATG but he made sure everything was in his favour when he fought the other elites, and he's recieved a few gift decisions. By not given Arron Pyror a fight, or given rematches to Hearns ( until he thought Hearns was shot) and Duran or Hagler, he loses my respect...but in actual fact he did steal the fight
SRL has set an example that The Roy Jones's and the Floyd Mayeweather's have followed, by picking and choosing opponents instead of fighting the best in thier prime. Marvin Hagler was the antithesis of that
his speed is unbelievable, the quickest boxer on earth, easily
at 5'7 he could go up to featherweight, and dominate imo. interesting he's working with robert garcia and victor conte. kids so good he's ever been tested in the ring...wtf is arum doing, this kid should be a star already
since ur all sitting on the fence:
1. Manny Pac
2. Sergio Martinez
3. JMM
4. Andre Ward
5. Nonito Donaire
6. Bernard Hopkins
7. Amir Khan
8. Juan Ma Lopez
9. W. klitschko
10. Carl Froch
11. Brandon Rios
Rios? Even if he beats Acosta and/or Soto he's nowhere the top10. He needs to beat JMM to become the top Lightweight in order to get a P4P rating. Or move up in weight and become the top 140-pounder. Placing Rios at 11 is contradicting your list as JMM and Khan are both placed above him.
if he was to beat Soto,a Katsidis and Victor Ortiz then i think he would be i with a good shout for the top ten
are you a f ucking a$$? after that abysmal over hyped british piece of $hit fight 3 weeks ago no brit should be bragging about boxing.
Zab Judah, Jermain Taylor, Daniel Jacobs, sklills, no heart
Jeff Lacy, he had heart, no skills
A-Farce emigrated to the united states so i think he picked up a few bad habbits
USA population - 305,689,000 - 7 World Champions
UK population - 60,000,000 - 4 World Champions
5x the population of the UK and only 3 more champs.
I'm just sayin'
I agree.
100% the yanks dont have a amauter system like they used to, they used to win everything at at the olympics and world championships, but guys like Carl Froch, Amir Khan, David Haye started winning them even big Audley Harrison, our worst, has one a Gold Medal, but he spent most of his carear in Big Bear, mastering the art of dont hit/back off
Meh, it doesn't matter because this guy has to be an alt. In all seriousness, boxing is losing interest in America but that has not changed that America still has more talent than any other nation. I find it crazy that someone would say that the UK has more talent in it than America.
your from detroit, your town is famous for producing boxers, maybe even the best boxers in the world. but your country isnt doing it anymore. theres no gyms. you see detroit, you think thats america. your wrong my friend.
I care. we need the americans to catch up with the rest of the world, for the good of boxing, cos thats where the money is, and the american public, quite rightly, are only really really interested (im tallking mainstream america) in american fighters
manny pac's will only happen once a lifetime
