Indeed. Bob Arum never tried to make this match up in the first place. He knows any guy Pacquiao fights will make money I also laughed when he said "I don't wanna co-promote" which means "I want to keep all the money to myself". Bob Arum is a scum bag. Always has, always will be. Arum was talking specifically about not wanting co-promote with GBP. He doesn't want to share the promotional costs with the company that tried to tarnish Manny career and reputation with baseless drug accusations and who Manny is suing. I don't blame him. If GBP want the Marquez fight they will have to put their money where their mouth is and pay for the entire promotion, to ensure Top Rank don't lose any money on the fight. Manny has said this himself in a recent interview.

Shane's my 5th or 6th choice for Pac, but from a business standpoint it probably makes sense to bump him up near the front of the line due his advanced age and rapidly closing window as a somewhat viable candidate for the ppv masses. Same could also be said for JMM, but it'd probably be a super hard sell once ssm hits the big 40 :( harder than it'd be after his 2 recent crappy performances. I'm guessing it's 95% done deal for Shane unless Pac rejects it.

It'll be Shane at 147. JMM has priced himself out asking for 50/50 purse splits before. Manny will not fight at 140. Berto is relatively unknown and nowhere near Shanes or JMM's status. Look for a Pac/Shane fight in late May. Sales will be to the tune of 1-1.2m buys and in Vegas under NSAC rules. Oh yeah. Manny wins via 7th rd TKO, Brother Naazim and his corner stops the fight

Apparently Shane is not the last option. And, with Arum saying no co-promotion he is the only option TBH. And, that is just crap. Its crap alright. From a promoter's perspective though, you got the cash cow and these fighters are lining up to him. TR alone does a fine job of promoting pac ... without the help of these promoters piggy backing.

This is playing perfectly for Bob Arum, because since he did that horrid deadline garbage with Mayweather which Mayweather had alot of things going on during that period(His trainer on trial etcetc) which was basically the first terms on a 50/50 split even though Mayweather just come off a win against Mosley providing 70mill+ in PPV revenue. They still wanted the 50/50 split. I don't know about you, but at this point if I was Mayweather I'd figure I'm the bigger draw and ask for a 60/40 split, but hey that's just me. Now the media hyped into this and made Mayweather the "ducker" so Pacquiao basically became more famous. Thus increasing his popularity and PPV buys. This is perfect for Arum because he has YOU fans in the palm of his hand. He knows he can make millions fighting anyone. In this case It's Shane Mosley a guy coming off 2 bad performances. People are saying they'll boycott now, but just wait until the HBO hype train rolls in people will actually think Mosley will have a legitimate chance. So then you'll order the fight because they'll make it seem Pacquiao will lose so they're making it seem as an "historic" event. I agree with you but like i said, we can't control which fighter should fight who next. I even don't like Pac-MAB rematch. But as a fan, you can criticize me all you want, but i will watch it even if the fight has not that much value cuz of Mosley showing age. I am not making excuses but maybe Pac deserved an easy fight. Yeah he dominated all of his opponents since moving up to lightweight. But at ww and jr. mw, he took some hits too. In an interview, Pac said his body still aches after 2-3 days after the fight. Margarito, while slow, is no pushover. Forgot what round, Margarito hurt him to the body and i though Pac was going down. Pac said he has 3 more years left and if it is true, so there is still plenty of time to face more credible opponents.
