the way he fights is the way boxing trainers tell you NOT to fight, but i guess if you got the power you can be wild and crazy!
really?
watch him again
if you still feel the same way
watch boxing for another ten years
then watch him again
in the AM days he was as slick as they came
he never became a seasoned professional
he fough too few rounds
edwin valero was a true world class boxing talent in every sense of the world
dude was destined to be great
he couldnt take the steps neccessary to take his talent to the next level
watch him spar (where he faced his best competition)
dude was the goods
Valero actually NEVER fought under an athletic commission.
Japan doesn't test. this has been proven time and time again by fighter testimonies.
innocent until proven guilty...
Honestly, I saw something special in the guy Valero. He wasn't just physically gifted with power and speed, but had the skills as well as natural viciousness in the ring that you seldom see in fighters. I couldn't imagine the guy ever having a face of discouragement or doubt in the ring.
But that viciousness ultimately threw away his life as well as his wife's.
Such a shame.
there's an article written after his death and it was very accurate. that vehicular accident forever change his life. if he was allowed to fight in the US, he might have been out of his alcohol and drug problem.. :nonono:
Nice to see people give him the recognition he truly deserves.
Troubled man. There won't be another like him for quite some time.
yea man he brought something different to the ring. would have loved him vs pac at 140 lol
Other than being Latino boxers with fairly grown hair, theres nothing that resembles Duran at all, Duran was a million miles ahead in every aspect of skill.
He was a lot more skilled than he was able to show against the guys he fought. Even in the De Marco fight he was using faint defensive movement I'd imagine the average casual fan couldn't notice.
Just like Duran used faint defensive movements, Edwin did too. Him and Bradley would have been epic
Valero is already an atg legendary warrior hero.
It doesn't surprise me if he punched harder, him and Margarito were only about 15 pounds apart.
RIP great champion.
I wonder if Roid rage was the reason he flipped out and killed his wife then himself? If so that would explain his strength/power...
Chris Benoit did something similar to his wife and himself
was edwin valero as big as chris benoit? so then by your logic any boxer that has a knockout on his resume is suspect to cheating......
No, I'm joking around. Valero was my favorite fighter when he died. I thought he was a great talent that was beginning to flourish.
yea man i wanted to see him fight the top 140 guys so bad just before he died. loved his fights
