My thoughts exactly, he should've stuck with Garcia, there were some major improvements there. James had him boxing like Devin Haney!!!! Like an awkward lumbering version of a defensive small weight black american fighter.
"They did this bs with Rigondeaux also and sat him on the shelf" lmfao no, what happened is Loma didn't even want that fight he said Rigo was too small, but the black fans made that fight happen. Rigo - Loma was touted as a 50/50 fight, with many making Rigo the fav, then after Loma made him quit the narrative was completely rewritten.
All the critique of Haney is valid. I wouldn't call his basic one two punch style pure boxing. He's a huge guy for the division and looks like a welterweight, while Loma barely gets credit for fighting 2 weight classes higher than he should. Loma is also clearly on the physical decline, and suffering from ring rust due the Ukraine situation.
If Haney wins it would be a good win, but nothing special. Yes it would be a better win than what Tank or Garcia have on their resume, but they're also hype jobs especially garcia who hasn't proven shit, so thats not saying much.
boxing is not about how much u weigh, its about finding a way no matter what u weigh
these days it very much is about out weighing the opponent on fight night and draining them
this is a product of there being far too many weight classes in boxing
theres an obvious hierarchy when it comes to the boxing industry at the top are the americans who are obviously the most protected, but the american boxing industry is heavily bias towards mexicans too, after that it's brits.
at the bottom are eastern euros. follow the money.
anyone who denies this reality in boxing is delusional.
yeah that seems to be it, the wbc will engineer him a mandatory position then call it fast, no waiting around for years like dillian. get ready for Wilder Fury 4
Wilder is in such a great position right now. People can't admit it to themselves because they dislike him so much and they're not mature enough to look at the facts. There's two big money HW fights with his name on them. He might not be worth **** after the first one, depending how it goes, but the guys putting together Fury and Joshua fights desperately want Wilder so they can make money off these fights. They're not stupid enough to let that opportunity go by. They're going to spend money to make money.
Wilders old enough to be stalled out, almost lost his last two fights and can't make anywhere near the money Joshua can fighting second rate opponents. Its not a great position at all.
Wilder fans think Wilder can use Joshua desire for legacy against himself, if Joshua gets on some Wilder **** himself, Wilder is ****ed. Joshua will probably make $60m this year without fighting either Wilder or Fury, that's a great position. he could easily just make more money than anyone else while waiting for someone else to take the belt off Wilder or for Wilder to decline. Wilders betting on himself yes, but he's also betting on Joshua taking the fight when Wilder wants it. Joshua could easily do to Wilder what Wilder has done thus far. That's a weak position to be in.
No. Wilder 'accepted' the $15m, so there's no leg to stand on there, and Wilder still hasn't earned the starting offer of $12.5m in his entire career. At the time it was x10 his largest pay day, Joshua was generating $30m a fight while wilder was generating $4m. It was the most generous offer a weak b side has ever been offered and we've continued down that trajectory of Wilder being offered the biggest overpays in boxing history, which the coward has rejected choosing to 'marinate' the fight proving that they always wanted to delay the Joshua fight all along anyway.
Some black american fighters act like everyone non black is supposed to support them or else its an injustice, i never seen a mexican or european fighter with significant black americans support. They're just as tribal as mexicans if not more.
OMG $120m? It gets worse and worse. The most revealing thing here is that he rejected double what he got to fight fury in the first fight to fight the rematch. it's official. Wilder is not in charge of his career. Haymon would not let Wilder fight on a non PBC network. So much for the boss talk, we see who the real slave is. It's apparent he ducked the rematch with Fury too. Wilder will not fight top guys unless Haymon has control of the event and given what happened in the Fury cherry pick gone wrong Joshua/Fury would be fools to allow this to happen.
No more talk about Hearn, Arum, Joshua, Fury. Team Wilder are the reason these fights aren't happening. Defend it all you want calling stalling out Joshua as a smart business descion if you want to pretend that he's worth more, but at least acknowledge HE IS stopping the fight from happening.
Call it what you want, just acknowledge that it is Wilder who is holding up the fight. As i've said before, you guys want to laud team Wilders business plan of rejecting offers and getting more money down the line, but then take issue with it being called a duck and pretend AJ's side aren't going out of their way to make this fight. It's a calculated one, but a Duck none the less.
My guess is something about starting his non existent haymon controlled promotional company and some nonsense about being his own boss. Possibly a longer term deal with pbc/fox which will give him an excuse to duck joshua again after breazele fight
Cool. Wilders got a sound business plan and is holding up the fight until he gets more money. My problem is you people want to defend this but still act like he isnt holding up the fight.
Yeah what makes you think they don’t want to earn the biggest payday of their career. He’s just not going to get desperate and sign every offer someone puts in his face like an idiot. Last year you guys laughed at him for turning down 12 million now he’s getting offers for 100m. It’s a good thing you boxingscene bloggers are not his manager lol you fools would jump at every single offer. AJ is not with DAZN so why does Wilder need to sign with DAZN? No one can answer that question. AJ isn’t dumb enough to sign his career away to some amateurs in the boxing business so why would Wilder?
So you're admitting that they've been stalling out the fight this whole time? Good to know.
He accepted 15 as long as the fight was next. Hearn refused to do the fight next, so Wilder walked away from the negotiation.
You really have no way of knowing what Wilder has earned in his career. The media reports are that he earned 14 million in his last fight and he just turned down a 3 fight/100 million offer. So chances are he's earned way more than 12.5 in his entire career. Maybe you'd be better off sticking to being a boxing fan instead of trying to be an accountant.I am a boxing fan thats precisely the reason why i can't stand clowns defending a cherry picking paper champ holding the division hostage and justifying it with bull**** numbers (LOL @ Wilder making 14m vs Fury. Delusional)
So whats the reason for ignoring Hearns attempts at making the fight at Wembley? because he said mean things about Alabama?
How do we blame Hearn for Wilder rejecting DAZNs offer which Hearn wasn't involved in? the excuses are never ending.
When you want to ignore offers, stand up networks at meetings and never attempt to negotiate you don't want the fight to be made. But don't take my word for it, they've already admitted to it. Just own it, stop trying to laud them for delaying the fight while you try to blame Hearn for the fight being delayed.
I'm tired of this Black american victim narrative in Boxing in general, these Americans get every single benefit in their favour from the money end, to refereeing to the judging to the rankings over others but they're always whining like their victims? if you were cuban or Eastern European Spence you probably wouldnt have got that decision and you wouldve got paid WAY less. Food for thought.
Poor. They didn't even give dude a deal lmao. Dude turned down $20m to fight for $3m tops. I thought they would at least try to save face by relaunching him on fox, being vague about the finances of that so that they could pretend that Wilders making ppv/dazn money over there, come up with some elaborate spin about Bombzquad being the new Mayweather promotions and being his own boss. Not even. Put his ass back on regular showtime. Espizona is just calling Wilder a sucker to his face and letting him deal with the backlash.
BTW for the PBC fans, did you feel Showtime were loyal to Wilder when they were ****ting on him during the Fury fight? I thought that was what you lot had a big problem with with HBO?
So you’re admitting that you aren’t proficient in reading comprehension. Good to know.
I know exactly what you're saying, you just won't say it outright because it's ridiculous. Wilder is making a smart choice by delaying this fight he's not delaying it tho Joshua and Hearnz are ducking.:tool:
If Wilder loses his ability and isn't a viewing attraction 'loyalty' goes out the window. In sports they always talk of 'loyalty' as one way traffic. If Showtime are themselves loyal wheres the deal for Wilder?
It's a load of bollocks and they are fast running out of excuses. Not even Wilder fans are buying this loyalty crap. The only viable excuse left is that Wilder is waiting to get a better offer, but that would include stop blaming Hearn and slandering Joshua, they can't do that. So theres no logic to their spins because theres no logic in Wilders excuses because it's simply an obvious fact now, they are ducking AJ.
They could even blame Wilders advisers and that would be somewhat acceptable but they're still trying to deflect it onto Hearn via some nonesensical complex multiverse theory.
exactly, look at this thread. they want to credit wilder for turning down fights because its the right business decision but still blame hearn/aj for the fight not happening yet. totally illogical. :banghead:
i use to blame wilders team not wilder but after the recent debacle and especially the interviews hes done recently it's obvious wilder either has a slave deal with haymon or he's been manipulated to take less money, either way he's a typical dumb boxer who's not in charge of his career so I have to blame him now more than any one.
A better question would be with Americas great boxing history and legacy why so shook of a non American trying to become undisputed that you would support the biggest duck in boxing history? This aint about USA, British boxing fans are the biggest fans of American boxing outside of America, fact. Its about one coward holding up the division.
When a fight does 1 million PPV buys, the fighters make a lot more than 24 million combined.
Depends on the deal.
"Despite Frank Warren's original claim that the revenue would be split 50-50, it was revealed that if the fight generated 1 million PPV buys, Wilder could make $14 million (£10.94 million) and Fury would earn around $10.25 million (£8 million). Both boxers would see this increase to their base purses after receiving their percentages from pay-per-view revenue."
Pretty clear.
And when a fight sells 325k @ $74.99 thats a little over $24m generated from ppv, no way is there $24m in the pot.
I don't know about all that rotten teeth ****. But I have noticed a lot of British fighters suffer from Tekashi 6ix9ine syndrome. A lot of these same fighters two, or three years ago dressed like Sunday school kids, and now wanna dress like West Coast (Los Angeles) gangsters, East Coast (New York) killers. They wanna act like they push that main line but really bump Drake & Cardi B.
Get famous now they wanna get tattoos, and claim blood...WHAT?
such as? it's really the opposite as I see it. Joshua vs Miller being a prime example.
Had that been Bernard Hopkins, Adrien Broner or Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Making similar comments or statements as those, then the press would have jumped on them very quickly because they hate African Americans.
 you cant be serious. The media went nuts on mcgregor calling Floyds WHITE guido bodyguard a juice head monkey, was Floyds multiple explicit racism triads against Pac ever brought up in msm? Never.
