lmfao, the arena was throwing shit at floyd and telling him "fuk you" after the fight... that place was packed with marquez fans, dont give me that bullshit, everyone knows marquez was the draw... mexicans are ALWAYS the fuken draw.
Where were they in Marquez previous fights? And what fight did Marquez get paid the most money?
Most were at work then as there was no holiday and it's only right marquez should get big money on that fight as he was made to come up to an un-natural weight and then get cheated.
So they all work at the same time at night. Yeah... OK
The only reason I have been against a rematch is that Quintana has done dick since getting erased by Williams beating Berto would be something so to me the rubber match is more appealing.
Williams needs to take the fight to Quintana if they fight again, he needs to be smart with his pressure but to me he should be able to make Quintana crack. If William's does not pressure smartly Quintana could outbox him again or if Williams is trying hard for the knock out.
100 percent true
Sounds good to me. What do you guys think? It would also get Paul back to 147 Pounds.
I wouldn't mind seeing Paul smash Quintana again. Just to stop hearimg about the first fight. And I still don't think Williams has to prove that he's a better fighter than Qunitana. He proved that beyond a doubt in the rematch.
I think it is you that doesn't realize how much he meant for Pacquiao and how he improved Pacquiao tremendously.
The tandem is easily one of the best.
He does what he does best and that is to prepare his fighter to fight the best. So far no one in recent memories has been able to match that up. Yes he is brash and bold....some even say arrogant but no one can doubt that he is good for Pacquiao.
I don't think you understood my point. If Roach has not completed a gameplan to beat Mayweather, what was he going to do on March 13th aginst Mayweather? He's basically admitting Pacquiao wasn't ready. And Pacquiao is nearing the end of his career. He's not some young fighter still learning his trade. Things that he can't do now are not going to be perfected in one training camp for Mayweather. It takes years and if they fight Pacquiao is going to be the same Pacquiao. Mayweather is not the type of opponent he can "try new things" with. Pacquaio has no other choice but to fight the way he knows best.

"I've almost got the fight plan finished for Floyd," Roach said, grinning widely. "I have and it's still the big fight that we want, that Manny wants. I know Manny can beat Floyd and maybe he is the only guy who can defeat Mayweather."

Roach sure knows how to make Pacquiao look bad. I don't even think he realizes it.
I don't think they are. Pacquiao sat ringside for Cotto-Clottey. And Roach has spoken about Josh, he just doesn't think much of him. Hey, maybe Joshua will surprise. Count me among those who thinks there is a greater chance of him quitting (hand injury, headbutt, sprained vulva) then there is of him getting a KO. But I DO want him to surprise and test Manny.
:lol1::lol1:
Roach is a good man. I dont enjoy some of his promotion lately, but that is beside the point. People confuse that with his actual persona, in reality hes just a real dude, i respect that.
I also like Roach. I just don't take his statements seriously because he's just like everybody else when it comes to promoting their fighter. I also don't like when people try make a genius out of him. But as a man I respect for him and find him funny at times..
I thought Clottey was handling Zab with ease. I also thought Zab looked like he has slowed down a lot. He's not the same guy who fought Floyd FOUR years ago (crazy, right?). Clottey is just very irksome. He has the right combination of size and skill to beat almost any welter in the world. But he lacks all the intangibles that separate the great from the good. And Pacquiao has been blessed with an abundance of them. Who knows, maybe Pacquiao starts beating him up so bad that he actually forces Clottey to fight and reach his potential.
This is why I see a possible stoppage for Pacquiao. And Clottey won't even have to be that hurt for it to happen. The skills are there but Clottey has shown no desire or ability to fight through adversity. If he does in this fight I'll be very surprised. I don't see him winning under just about any circumstances.
That was a mistake. He probably hadn't even thought it through.
Manny is too polite for his own good and the language barrier ****s everything up.
I'm glad he came to his senses.
Only someone as dumb or naive as you would believe that.
Why did he all of a sudden need reassurances? He NEVER had a problem with the rules before and neither did the fans. He's obviously threatened and thats understandable. But unless there is an official rule change, he's the one holding up the fight.
Was there an official rule change for Cotto to come in at 145? Mosley at 142? Or Mayweather to pay 10 million for each pound overweight? There seems to be a double standard when it comes to Pacquiao and "rules".
Why would the fighter of the decade let Floyd dictate demands?
Floyd was the one without other viable options (until the Haiti tragedy.)
Money talks. Not who won "fighter of the decade". Mayweather not only put up bigger PPV numbers but also brings more money to the table than any other Pacquiao opponent. And Pacquiao initially agreed with the testing. He pulled out at the end of negotiations for something he knew about all along.
what about prior clean tests? He has passed every test hes been required to take and I believe that is more proof than there is proof saying hes guilty. So again you my friend are wrong.
Does that apply to Shane Mosley too? Ooops.
"]Why did he all of a sudden need reassurances? He NEVER had a problem with the rules before and neither did the fans. He's obviously threatened and thats understandable. But unless there is an official rule change, he's the one holding up the fight.
Maybe because he thinks Pacquaio is cheating?
He is not that easy to hit. Most of the shots Clottey got in where because Manny forgot about defense after a 30 punch combination. His defense is much improved in actual exchanges.
Professionals don't "forget" about defense. Either it's there or it isn't.
Different yes, IDK about better.....if what you do works and prevents you from sustaining damage then it serves its purpose but defense doesn't win fights as we saw tonight.
It's better because Mayweather actually throws punches back and counters without getting hit in return.Clottey just covers up with nothing in return.
Manny only landed like 20% of his punches, what are your thoughts on that?
Can he land 20% and beat Mayweather who has a MUCH BETTER D than Josh?
Good point. And unlike Clottey, Mayweather will make Pacuiao pay when he misses.
Floyd maybe smarter than Clottey but he definately don't hit at hard and I don't expect Mayweather to cover up nearly as much. I mean Clottey almost never came out of his shell, and as far as Pacquiao only landing 20% I'm laughing b/c how can you hit someone who is scared and covering up the entire night. I was more surprised Pacquiao didn't lose steam later in the fight as I thought he would and Clottey would nail him but Clottey was punished and I wouldn't be surprised if his ribs weren't cracked
Clottey is not and has never been a big puncher. I don't know where that theory comes from. Mayweather's punches are much sharper than Clottey's.
Honestly, Pacquiao is hitting so damn hard these days how is Mayweather going to hurt him let alone even contend with him in the strength department. If Mayweather decides to "go all defensive" he's going to have even less success since he probably can't even swell Pacquiao up.
You have to throw something to beat Pacquiao. Will Mayweather do that? and do it without getting caught? I can't see Floyd taking even one of Pacquiaos punches.
This is so delusional that I don't even know where to start with it.
Not based on the fight tonight...not at all. Clottey landed the straight right hand whenever he threw it and he didn't get hit with a whole bunch of big flush shots because of his defense. Floyd loves the straight right hand, he is a counterpuncher and has a MUCH better defense than Clottey. I see it the other way around, Floyd will out box Manny.
Badly. And you can believe that Roach knows this.
It doesnt matter who it came from, Especially since Mayweather himself said he would take the same test.
The point is, if you didnt support Manny Pacquiao taking a random drug test, Do not turn around and ask other fighters to take a random drug test.
Basically what it comes down to is most people who don't support it are Pacquaio fans who want to excuse and support his refusal to take the test. The main reason for the opposition is that Mayweather is for it. There is no other explanation for people who think this type of testing would not help the sport. If it was not for innovative testing, sports like baseball, football and all Olympic sports would be stuck in the era where athletes were getting away with everything the used.
It's Floyd's and GBP's standard not Pac's or anyone else's standard
Pac or any fighter fighting floyd doesn't have to live up to Floyd's standard, only floyd has to live up to floyd'sstandard
Case and point. These are the people I'm talking about. Instead of looking at the big picture and what is at stake they want to oppose it because Mayweather is involved. If Mayweather found a cure a cure for cancer it would be no different. It shouldn't matter who supports it. What's right is right.
But you just said you agreed with floyd's standard???
Floyd standard is any fighter who fights him must be willing
to participate in Random Urine and Blood test.
what is the problem with him holding that standard to pacquiao?
as he is doing with Mosley?
Why didnt Pacquiao ask for an enormous, never seen before weight penalty with Clottey like he did with Mayweather?
Is Pacquiao a hypocrite?
You won't get an answer to that. Not an intelligent one anyway.

Very interesting.
reasons why dlh abandoned his jab
1) dlh gased
2) floyd was countering
Pretty much. All of the arm chair critics who have never boxed in their lives seem to think that they know something Delhoya didn't know. He stopped using his jab for a reason: It was no longer effective.
