FROM ALI TO PACQUIAO, MURAD MUHAMMAD IN HIS OWN WORDS PT. 15: BUILDING PACQUIAO UP, SHUT ARUM DOWN
By Percy Crawford | February 26, 2010
"How can Bob Arum and the powers that be stop a $200 million fight from happening because of a personal difference? Because that's all it was...This man stopped both of these guys from having that kind of influence on this sport. The problem with that is Mayweather is the guy to beat Pacquiao. See, I started all of this and I knew what I was doing by keeping Pacquiao away from African American fighters. You got Mayweather, an African American that don't give a damn that's a faster fighter than Pacquiao is. I think he would have beat the daylights out of Pacquiao, but I knew what I was doing by avoiding those types of fights for Pacquiao. I don't know if that boy is on steroids, but Pacquiao should have said, 'I will take the test if I can receive 80% of my money.' Because right now, they take 80% of what Pacquiao makes. He should have made that deal with Arum," stated promoter Murad Muhammad as he revealed more details about Manny Pacquiao, Bob Arum, their relationship and much more. Don't miss this behind-the-scenes look into the history of the sport as Murad himself tells his story in his own words. From Muhammad Ali to Manny Pacquiao, he has worked alongside some of the biggest names in boxing and you don't want to miss more of his extremely revealing tales. Check it out...

that's Devin the dude. He is a rapper from Texas. You just gotta be a fan of his and listen to his music to get why that pic is so funny. Devin is like that crazy a$$ uncle everyone has.
Like that crazy uncle that gets drunk at family reunions and starts talking shit? LOL. Ima look him up man:D
Hey look another thread with idiots making absurd and non-logical arguments... i'm shocked... Truth is when Pac was handled by Murad, there really wasn't any top black fighters in Pac's division. Or was Pac supposed to fight some scrub and pass on fighting one of the top mexican legends?
He's just speaking the truth, don't get so upset!
Murad is the man responsible for Pacquiao's fame. He secured him fights with a shop worn Barrera and Morales who beat the prime out of eachother - softened up for Pacquiao who has a size advantage against both of them - and even admits to protecting him against fighters who would beat him.
You, as a die-hard Pacquiao fan, should have nothing but the utmost respect for him. I applaud Murad, for speaking the truth about Pacquiao and simply stating what we true boxing fans have known for years!LOL you just showed the whole forum that you know nothing.
Damm I don't that's why I don't get it :lol1:.

Right. And Barrera got slaughtered by a one-handed fighter who just learned the definition of three-meals-a-day.
And you're right about Murad too. He spoke the truth he opted for settlement when pressed about his secret deals with HBO instead of being tried in court.
I remember making a thread saying How Oscar is just trying to set up Pac vs. Hatton.
I couldnt shake that feeling.
Yes, and I still can't imagine how a "rational" fan can even think of Oscar throwing his legacy out the window by laying down for a smaller man in front of millions of people, while absorbing all those punishment distorting his face.
Can you imagine Floyd laying down for Alexander to set him up for a fight with Bradley?
People want to believe what they think is on their side.
First the Mayweather retards accuse Pac of steroid use. They believed it.
Then Murad the perpetual liar had this to say about Pac. People again believed it.
Who knows, Flomos will declare Pac a homosexual when Floyd Sr. tells the world Pac slept with Barak Obama.

by the time floyd face pacq, pacq is already damaged goods/been to many wars/got KO/
That was 2006 when Barrera was struggling with and rematching Rocky Juarez. Pacquiao fought Barrera in late 07.
When Pacquiao fought Barrera, he had just lost to JMM, and Barrera was lowered to #4.
After Pacquiao signed to rematch Barrera, Guzman signed to fight Soto because it came with an HBO date and a promise from Arum that the winner would get Pacquiao. After Guzman beat Soto handily, Arum reneged on his promise.
It's a moot point for me either way, Guzman was the WBO titlist challenging his #1 challenger right after Pacquiao knocked Morales out in 06. Pacquiao chose to fight Jorge Solis for no title on an independent Top Rank PPV instead of fighting Guzman for a title. That tells me all I need to know.
Jro got that ass owned.
 the only reason they would keep Pacquiao from African American fighters is because he would be charged with hate crimes.
Pacquiao has shown that he can whoop him some black ass already so this shit is stupid and pointless.
Those rankings show Barrera at #2 and Guzman #3.
And, at the time that Pac had fought Barrera a rematch. Did Guzman had even fought Soto yet?

Guzman's open letter to Pacquiao after he knocked out Morales in 3 and before Pacquiao decided to fight an unranked Jorge Solis:
Open Letter From Joan Guzman: Dear Mr. Pacquiao: Magnificent. Stupendous. Flawless. That is how you performed Saturday night in Las Vegas against Erik Morales. I write first to congratulate you on a brilliant fight.
Second, I write you, Pacman, to remind you that I believe I am the world's best at 130 pounds. I am sure we can agree to disagree and that and that your fans will similarly disagree with mine on that same point.
As you know, I am the WBO champion and you are the #1 mandatory. I have a title defense upcoming in my homeland, the Dominican Republic on December 18 as a part of the biggest boxing show ever held there. Should I be successful in that bout, I have made it clear to my manager, Jose Nunez, and to my co-promoters that I want them to work to make Guzman vs. Pacman for March, 2007.
There can be no doubt now that you and I are the world's best two fighters at 130 pounds. The question that must be answered is who is the better man in that ring, me or you? It is a super fight and a fight fan's dream.
Let's settle this one in March. All the best to you and your legion of loyal fans.
Sincerely,
JOAN GUZMAN
UNDEFEATED WBO JR. LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION
This wasn't some unranked chump calling him out either. Btw when Pacquiao chose to fight Barrera, he was ranked below Guzman.
2006
1. Manny Pacquiao
2. Marco Antonio Barrera
3. Joan Guzman
4. Erik Morales
5. Jorge Rodrigo Barrios
6. Rocky Juarez
7. Edwin Valero
8. Vicente Mosquera
9. Yodsanan Sor Nanthachai
10. Alex Arthur

How did Barrera do against JMM in a fight before? Didn't some people feel he beat JMM. And, wasn't Barrera also ranked higher than Guzman at the time? If Pac ducked anybody at the time. It was JMM. Because, he should of fought JMM before fighting Barrera. And, Guzman edged out a decision against Soto that he did not look good in. And, is one reason why it was hard for Guzman to get another HBO date after that fight.

I am learning a lot here. I knew Pacquiao ducked African-American fighters, I didn't know the ducking delved this deep. Great thread.
:lol1: I feel the same way!!.....I had no idea Guzman bum rushed Pac's press conference!! :lol1:
Squirming at it's finest. They own you with factual evidence, evidence you requested I might add, and instead of admitting you were wrong, you squirm. Funny.
Did I say something that was innacurate?
