Oscar De La Hoya has one of the best resumes in the history of professional boxing, so he does not suck balls.
Congrats to Manny on a fantastic performance!:hail:
Good fighters and class acts outside of the ring. Good to see they still make them like that. Every one of them just gained a new fan.
You better believe it!;)
Tyson easily. Some say Tyson was the biggest name in sports in some of the years in him prime. OF ALL SPORTS.
There is no question that Leonard was respected within the boxing community at the time, but everyone knew who Tyson was.
Mayweather, Pacquiao, B-Hop and Paul Williams.
The first 3 might have a case, but the last gentleman has not even come close to making a statement to the original fab 4.
It is pretty obvious that Floyd is not to keen with the media. His Ronald Regan flare is just not there. It is just best to judge him within the ring.:boxing:
How about roy?
That’s because Roy is special!:)
I don’t believe Winky was ruined either, that was a very close fight between him, and Hopkins. Winky is one bad mother, and has been for a long time.
If you’re not a full-blown alcoholic quit analyzing the situation. Someday you’ll be 75 years old, and in a nursing home, so live it up while you can. I’m sure there are worse things you could be doing besides throwing back a few, and posting on a boxing forum.:boxing::beerchug:
RJ is my favorite active fighter. I'll miss him when he does hang 'em up.
In his prime, he threw flurries of just left hooks that were so fast, it looked like a cartoon character throwing shots! Only his was for real! And think of this...how many other great fighters got to where they are in the all time pecking order without hardly ever using their jab?
Great fighter.
That’s right no fundamentals at all, and the word “great” is probably not a high enough explanation of his athletic abilities. I could just imagine how large of a sand glass will be required to time how long it will be before anything like this in boxing is repeated.
That being said, I hope he retires before he gets hurt.
I love reading your posts:
#1 Top 20 ATG? You haven't seen many other boxers then, I'm guessing
#2 Fought the best at 140, 147, 154?
#3 Greatest 130lber of all time? Sanchez? Arguello? Nelson?
#4 Without out doubt the most skilled boxer of all time? Honestly have you seen a fight that doesn't feature Floyd?
Come on man! I love every boxer in your favorite fighters list, but you are not giving Floyd near the credit he deserves at the lower weights.
At 130 and 135, he achieved a lot. Not nearly enough to be considered the best in each weight class, but a lot.
Its when he turns into his Money persona and starts cherry picking his fights while proclaiming he beats anyone 154 and under that bothers me.
I'll give him credit as a HOF'er 100%, but as a top 50 ATG, I'm not entirely convinced.
I can certainly understand where you are coming from, and I believe we are both much closer in opinion than either one of us realize.
Top 25-40? Seriously? And how on earth is he only one step below the Fab 4 in accomplishment. SRL has wins over Benitez, Duran, Hearns and Hagler. Mayweather doesn't come close when considering accomplishments
The exact reason why I don't put him on the same level as the Fab 4. When he moved up in weight he did not even try to challenge the top level of competition. I am a full-blown Floyd Mayweather Jr. hater, but I am not stupid, or completely blind.
I will most likely not ever leave for good, but there will always be those times when life gets in the way. I can guarantee though that there are many forums out there that are much worse as far as the moderation on this site goes. At least here you don’t get banned for having an opinion.:boxing:
Watching a sport that 99% of the world’s population would never even think of attempting. Respect for the combination of intellect, stamina, brawn, and courage these warriors possess. It is also a pleasure comparing, and contrasting fighters from the past, present, and the upcoming future.:boxing:
I don't want PBF to lose due to ring rust, that would be bad.
It will not happen. The only fighter to beat money in the last 5, or 6 years at 154, or below is Winky.
When he started losing.
That's a great picture of Nard, and Winky! Look at Winky! He just doesn't care! I truly believe he would fight King Kong.:boxing:
Doubt it, he has too much pride. DLH is just g@y as a boxer period. Ya he had skills and still probably does. Yet, his pride and heart was weak IMO.
Oscar's entire carrier defines what heart, and ball sack is all about. JMM kneels to no one.
