Can someone please post a photo of Bobby Pacquiao!? I have heard so much about this guy from this site, but I have yet to see a photo of him.
You want a shot of him lying on the canvas or a regular photo. There are ample amounts of both. (laughs)
to the author you contradict yourself there my son, though its you opinion and i respect that.
You say that Hopkins is the best p4p out there, and yet he embarrassed Eastman..well if he is the best p4p that would be expected. Howard for all his heart is a one paced and limited. You hear very few brits saying eastman would win. I predicted a wide UD to Nard. Be nice to see if he could handle Joe C someone with real power though outside his weight. (tho i quesiton calzaghe's love for the game at this juncture but still would be an interesting fight).
Secondly the fight wasnt that wide, check two of the judges scorecards it was hardly a massacre was it. And newsfalsh Tito and Oscar were both beaten inside the distance, this wasnt as wide as the fight against Allen. Really half a decade you cant have watched BHOP much lately can you?
Thirdly you seem to encompass the whole european scene on this one fight which is blatently stupid and shows a distinct lack of respect and knowledge.
Do some research there are some good fighters on fringe world class out there and you also fail to recognise Junior witter dumping Ndou on his arse twice something that neither Cotto not Mitchell could do.
that was on the same card mate, surely if you are going to say things like is that the best you have, then you would have watched the undercard as well as the main event.
oops! ;)
here some world class brtis alone to make ya think!
Hatton V Kostya for the universally accepted as linear light Welter champ
Woods V Hoye IBF light heavy champ.
Brodie v Chi last year twice. brodie can come again if he drops to S-bantam (where wayne mccullough is also looking to secure a rematch with larios)
Harrison - WBO feather champ
Nelson - WBO cruiser champ and avoided like the plague by other champs.
David Barnes may well work his way up to meaningful shot this year and is one to watch at welterweight.
Joe Calzaghe universally accepted as super middle number one.
Junior Witter now being lined up to fight Gatti
Esham pickering European Bantam champ
Nicky Cook european feather champ.
Carl Froch up and coming prospcet with real venom in his punches at super middle.
Carl Thompson the old warrior still out there and would give any of the top ten a decent nights work at Cruiser.
Enzo Macc, agian cruiser weight with real power and look for him to emerge in the next year as a world force.
Wayne Alexander looking to secure a title shot against Daniel Santos
As you can see, the british scene is flourishing and no we dont need to put all our hopes on Amir Khan, what we do have to put our hopes into is more intelligent reporting than above as to the true state of the game.
thank you and no offence intended. I just dont agree.
:boxing:
P.S. I thought Vitali K the number one heavy in the flagship division was from Europe? Silly me.
LETS HAVE ALOK AT THE UNIVERSALLY ACCPETED NUMBER ONES IN THE DIVISIONAND SEE HOW MANY ARE FROM THE US. NUFF SAID. :
THESE FROM BOX REC NOT MINE:

so in fact you have 5 independently ranked champs out of 16.
hardly a clean sweep in fact your great rivals Mexico have claim to be more dominant.
Wrong. But, nice try.
depends on each individual situation.
Often it is said Lennox lewis ducked Chris Byrd and John Ruiz, which really I find a bit of a no brainer, he didnt duck them they werent financially viable fights to anybody (tv co's lewis, promoters) compared to Holyfield / tysons of the world.
Actually, back in 1992 during a promotion involving the so-called heavyweight championship tournament, Riddick Bowe was not happy with the WBC mandatory which he was saddled with so he dumped their title into a trashcan rather than defend it against Lennox Lewis. Bowe said that there were more lucrative fights out there and his career wasn't going to be mandated by an organization who would put anyone as their top contender.
Lewis said that Bowe was a coward and that Bowe dumped the title in order to duck him. Bowe said it was a smart business decision.
Fast forward to July of 2000...Lennox Lewis is stripped of the WBA heavyweight title for refusing to fight mandatory contender John Ruiz. Now, fast forward to September 2002 where Lewis avoids a potential distasterous match with Chris Byrd by vacating the IBF heavyweight belt. Of course, Lennox Lewis says that both instances were "business" decisions.
The same thing that Riddick Bowe said in 1992 and Lennox called him a "coward".
A duck is a duck and real champions don't duck opponents.
Why would Oscar risk another blowout loss so soon after his last three disasters? Everyone knows that he lost the fight against Felix Sturm...good thing that the judges were in Oscar's pocket.
Mayweather by late KO.
Name: Samuel Peter
Age:24
Country of birth: Nigeria (now fighting out of Las Vegas)
Record: 22-0-0 (19)
World rank: 12th
Height: 6'2"
Reach: 75"
Stance: orthodox (right handed)
Trainer: Pops Anderson
Best fight: second-round KO over Jeremy Williams on 12-4-04
Peter's last five opponents all have strong winning records and he's won them all. But, don't assume that these opponents were worth a shit. His blowout win over Jeremy Williams was a fantastic win and probably did alot to catapult him into the heavyweight spotlight, but then again...with the big division in its current state, Butterbean could get a title shot. Please don't mistake Samuel Peter for a real strong contender, because he isn't. Until he does more than piss on a campfire, he's still a cupcake with a flashy record.
Bruseles did good, lasting 8 rounds, against pound 4 pound
#2, being unknown.
He lasted that long because Pretty Boy allowed it to happen. Don't think for a second that Floyd couldn't have blown out this underclassed punching bag in three or less rounds. Ever the showman, Floyd played with his prey like the clever cat that he is until he grew bored and then went in for the kill. It was predictable and systematic.
Beating the piss out of an old man a second time wouldn't impress me...but I always enjoyed seeing Lummox Lewis on his back. So, I hope they do fight again.
Regarding fear, Lewis kept coming forward, even in round six. Fear doesn't usually make you march forward like Lennox was doing. Regarding being exhausted let's be fair, both guys looked like shit. If Lennox was exhausted, then what do you say to Vitali hangin' all over Lennox in order to remain vertical at the end of the sixth? Regarding being knocked silly, I believe Vitali was almost decapitated at one point and also had a little cut around his eye?
Well, I actually watched the fight. I don't know what you were watching, but you go ahead and believe whatever you like if it helps you feel better about yourself. The bottom line hasn't changed...Lummox Lewis retired to avoid Vitali and that's a fact. Lewis has ducked so many times you'd swear someone was shooting at him.
Enough said. End of discussion.:D
Good! Klitschko can now finish the job and batter Lummox Lewis into re-retirement in front of all his mindless fans. He embarassed Lewis before and he'll do it again. The first time they fought, the WBC sent their ring doctor in prematurely to rescue the battered and losing chumpion. Anyway, we all know that his return is nothing but a big payday. Other than being embarassed by Klitschko again, Lummox has nothing to lose here. If he wins (no way expect to bring a gun into the ring), he gets to be the immortal champion (laughs). If he loses, everyone will just say that he was too old and pat him on the back and say, "Hey, Ali and Holmes tried to come back, too." Then he can slink back into retirement and we can be rid of his overrated ass forever.
VK will win the fight regardless.
Opinion will always vary on that subject, but which fighter refused a rematch and retired and which fighter wanted the rematch and is now the world champion? Can't twist that fact.
An immediate rematch meant a title loss for Lewis and he KNEW that, so he ran into the safe and warm arms of retirement in order to dodge a career-ending bullet.
Because of his immense greed, now Lummox wants the fight. He can't win, but he's a money whore so he'll take the monster check and retreat after the loss.
Enough said. End of discussion.
I think you need to go brush up on your boxing history because that is NOT what happend..
In 1992 HBO paid a ton of money to get the 4 best heavyweight in the world in a tournement to unify the belts.
Fighters were
Lennox Lewis
Evander Holyfdield
Razor Ruddock
Riddick Bowe.
The first round match ups were.
Holyfield vs Bowe.
Lewis vs Rudock.
They all signed the same contract. They would fight and then the winners would fight eachother early next year.
Lewis and Bowe both won. Bowe pulled out of a contract he signed to fight Lewis.
Bowe did not take on better fighters or go for "more luctrative fights" instead he opted to fight Micheal Dokes and Jesse Furgeson two underserving fighters.
The difference between what Lewis and what Bowe did was Lewis went after better fighters not easier fighters.
He gave up the WBA belt because Akinwande was his #1 a fighter he already beat. Akinwande was going to fight Holyfield for the vancant belt, but he got sick and Ruiz was put in as #1 because Don King bought it for him.
Lewis gave up the WBA belt to fight Micheal Grant the guy thought to be the second best heavyweight on the planet at the time and a Lewis/Grant fight was by far the best fight at the time.
Lewis gave up the IBF belt to get the fight with Tyson done. Lewis/Tyson was by far the biggest heavyweight fight of the past 15 years.
One guy gave up his belts for easier fights and the other gave up belts to make better fights.
and no, sorry no one thought John Ruiz and Chris Byrd were dangerous fights
Except Lummox Lewis.
Yes, if he is the undisupted champion he sometimes calls the shots. I.E. Bernard Hopkins.
Interesting quote since Lewis' first title (the WBC version) was plucked out of a trashcan handed to him while he was on a beach in Jamaica. That's what we in the business call a "paper champion". He was never undisputed. Lummox Lewis' legacy will always be ripe with controversy, beating up old, washed-up fighters and dodging the challenges of some of the contenders.
Oh, and Bernard Hopkins did exactly what Don King told him to do up until the beginning of 2004 when his contract expired with DK Promotions. Remember Morrade Hakkar? C'mon! Hopkins didn't want to defend against that guy! Hakkar was a nobody, yet somehow was ranked #1. There were better fights out there, but he had no choice due to promotional stipulations. So, don't feed me the Hopkins line unless you've done your homework.
Enough said...end of discussion.
People have said that Kostya's reign will come to an end against this guy or that guy and that he didn't stand a chance against Judah or against Mitchell (either time!). He crushed both guys all three times. What more do you mental midgets need to see which can possibly prove anything but the obvious? The only person who can defeat Kostya Tszyu is Kostya Tszyu. When Hatton gets beat then you'll whine about Cotto or Gatti or whoever is up-and-coming. Go sit in the corner, shut your mouths and lick your wounds. Everytime Tszyu wins, he defeats everyone of his detractors and critics...by knockout.
Enough said.
I have always been more of a hater towards Floyd but I am defending him on this one now. THis was Floyds 1st fight back from a 21 month layoff, you think he was gonna step right in with Mosley or Cotto? Hell no, anyone coming off a layoff takes a tune up and him fighting Marquez is a hell of alot better than him fighting some no name welterweight for his tune up. ALso everyone who picked Marquez to win is now crying saying FLoyd was so much bigger, well that didnt seem to matter before the fight when you said floyd would lose but now it does? WTF everyone talking about FLoyd fighting Pac and Pac would destroy him, did you retards forget that Pac has been in all the same weight classes as JMM and he started at a lower weight! Why is it not ok for him to fight Marquez but he HAS to fight Pac?
And the weight issue, the reason Floyd is a great fighter because he trains like no one else, he walks around when hes not training for a fight at no more than 160 so there is no way he was more than 56 for the fight.I bet he was within 5-8 pounds against Marquez 148 on fight night. Speaking of which Pac has weighed in at 148 his past 2 fights so he would weight the same against FLoyd so then all the dumb asses that said Pac would upset floyd could then bitch about Pac being too small. LIke I said before I have definetly hated on FLoyd before but after his incredible performance how can you losers find even more stupid excuses to take away his credit for the win? This shit is getting way overboard. Floyd just did eveything right in the fight, end of story he won fair and sqaure, stop your crying.
He did what he always does: run, slap, jab and run until his opponents gets tired or sloppy and then he pounces. It's a good strategy if you're a wuss. A real fighter fights, he doesn't run.
