Due to this thread by Carnivore/Tunney (see also his post here), I simply couldn't resist finding out who NSB posters find more exciting to watch - Wlad or Floyd?
Note: if you don't like watching either of them but would rather watch one of them than the other, please still vote for the one you would rather watch.
It honestly doesn't make sense to me why anyone would prefer Floyd's style, but different strokes for different folks.
It's because he's extremely good at what he does. It isn't the most crowd-pleasing style (I usually prefer more offensive fighters myself), but his skills are extremely refined and executed to near perfection. If you love the art of boxing, you should be able to understand what I'm trying to get across. I guess it depends on what you're expecting and what you're looking for in a fight.

Most of Wlad's stoppages these days are the corner throwing the towel in after 8 rounds of punishment or the ref stepping in and stopping it.
I'd like to see Wlad go back to the days of putting people to sleep instead of holding back and being cautious. Steward took that away from Wlad a lot like he did when he was with Lewis.
No, you are being narrow-minded. It just means that some people find KOs exciting while some people find close fights that go the distance more exciting.
Like I said before, different strokes for different folks. Learn to be more tolerant! :nono:
I don't have a problem with someone finding Wlad more exciting than Floyd because they like watching his KOs. Just with them claiming that you can statistically measure how exciting a fighter is based simply on their KO percentage - that's ridiculous.
And no one found Gatti-Ward or any of the other Fights of the Year that went the distance exciting because of the fact that they went the distance. The point is that what's important to most people is what happens during the whole fight, not just during the last few seconds. If those fights had ended by KO, that might have added to the excitement a little, but it wouldn't have made much difference either way, because every single round of those fights were packed with excitement. That's why they were voted Fight of the Year.
As for being tolerant of other people's views, considering that you claimed recently that only a homosexual with a penchant for black men could possibly like watching Floyd - and you also claimed in this thread that anyone who doesn't find Wlad exciting is by definition not intelligent enough to have a mind of their own or to make their own judgements, you should try practising what you preach!
Why are you such a snotty bitch when it comes to Wlad and his fans, Dave Rado? :lol1:
I respect him as a fighter, and I respect those of his fans, such as ~ Alar ~. who show that they appreciate boxing. But anyone who pretends that you can statistically measure how exciting a fighter is simply by looking at KO ratios is not someone who appreciates boxing.
Wlad has 47 KO's in 53 wins.
Floyd only has 25 KO's in 40 wins.
Do you prefer statistics to watching fights?
Did you know that the The Ring's 2008 Fight of the Year (Vasquez-Marquez III) went the distance?
So did all three fights in the Gatti-Ward trilogy, and two of those fights were also voted Fight of the Year.
So did all three fights in the Barrera-Morales trilogy, and two of those three fights were also voted Fight of the Year.
If all you're interested in is KO percentages then why even bother watching fights? You may as well just stay at home and read statistics all day if that's what turns you on.
You're not intelligent enough to even understand how you can be influenced by what you hear commentators/analysts say on the TV! :) Sadly, only the brightest people are able to think for themselves, while most sheeple just blindly follow.
Congratulations on being boxingscene's most narcissistic poster, as well as its most patronising one.
It honestly doesn't make sense to me why anyone would prefer Floyd's style, but different strokes for different folks.
I like watching some defensive boxers like Winky Wright and Yuri Foreman because there is creativity rather than repetitiveness in what they do. But others like Floyd Mayweather, Yuriy Nuzhnenko and Corey Spinks put me to sleep.
I wish people could watch ALL of Wlad's fights, and see he has different strategies depending upon each opponent. Look at what he did to Ray Austin and compare it to his fight with say, Thompson. He uses a great variety of punches and methods, but it depends on who he's fighting.
And that's what it comes down to.
and once again you bring race into it,how pathetic/retarded
The other thing that's retarded is that he blames it on the media. As if no one on boxingscene has ever seen any of Wlad's or Floyd's fights, and as if no one but him has a mind of their own.
Tunney/Carnivore is the most patronising poster on boxingscene.
Without a doubt, Wlad is more exciting. When Wlad is in the ring, a KO can come at any time, regardless of how good his opponent's chin is. :boxing:
I have almost all his fights on video, and I've watched them over and over again. I look forward to seeing Wlad's fights - they are to me what the superbowl games are to an American football fan!
I've never been able to watch most Floyd Mayweather fights all the way through, with a few exceptions like the N'Dou and Hatton fights. I wanted to fall asleep soon after I started watching his Baldomir fight, I just couldn't stay awake.
The result of this poll is indicative of where most of our boxingscene posters are. Many in the media in the US (and to a lesser degree the UK) have been unfairly negative about Wladimir over the years, because they're uncomfortable with having a heavyweight champion who is not African-American, or British like Lewis. If you made the same poll on a German, Russian or Ukrainian boxing site, most people would surely vote for Wlad.
But what do you have to say about those, like me, who appreciate all styles (including Wlad's), but prefer Floyd's?

how exciting a fighter is not always reflected in their KO ratio, but ur obviously not aware of that
and once again you bring race into it,how pathetic/retarded
Floyd's more dynamic when he fights then Wlad. His hand speed and reflexes are fun to watch. How he avoids some of punches he does amazes me. Wlad isn't awful, but Floyd is better to watch.
I appreciate both men's fighting styles, but Mayweather has far more verve
Watching Floyd is like watching an artist do his thing while watching Wlad is like watching a scientist do his thing
I prefer Floyd, but I appreciate pretty much every style in Boxing... but for me Floyd is overall more entertaining, maybe that is cause he is my favorite fighter though.
