I'd rather see ABC (or preferably NBC or CBS) cover actual fights.
That's what I'm talkin' about. I'm ready to see these major networks get back into the fight game.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Floyd is simply the better fighter. With all due respect to Marquez, he's just not on Mayweather's level. No matter how deeply you analyze their individual traits, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the superior boxer.
don't fight like he did against Oscar
a gameplan more similar to the one against N'dou would be more effective in my opinion
I agree. Floyd was gettin' caught with a good number of jabs when he fought De La Hoya. Marquez is an accurate, precision puncher who can put together some amazing combos. If Mayweather leaves himself open, then Marquez will capitalize on those openings.
I think roach has said on multiple occasions that pbf/pac is the biggest fight out there and he is willing to match pac up with pbf... the problem is that floyd wants all the money
Yeah, but Freddie said that he hopes Mayweather prices himself out. He even stated that his dream scenario would be for Marquez to upset Mayweather, so that he could avoid matching Pacquiao with Floyd altogether.
Freddie Roach has already admitted that he doesn't like the way Manny matches up with Floyd. Pacquiao doesn't match up well against slick counter-punchers.
Diaz isn't really a power puncher. He wears his opponents down with his punch volume and pressure. Paulie is a slick boxer with fast hands and feet. He basically sticks and moves. Juan isn't the fastest guy in the world, so Malignaggi can win by keeping his distance and stopping Diaz from working his way inside. The only problem is that Malignaggi severely lacks power and if he can't keep Diaz honest, then the Baby Bull could potentially break the Magic Man down.
I'm lookin' forward to the fight. I'm a fan of Chad Dawson, but I think people are prematurely countin' Tarver out. He's gettin' older and looked bad in their first fight, but I think Antonio has the capability to surprise everybody. My money's on Bad Chad though.
Yeah, Hatton didn't look too special in the footage, but then again we didn't get to see all that much. That's one thing I like about Pacquiao, he allows people to have full access to his sparring sessions.
Hatton usually looks pretty lean at the weigh-ins. He did look slightly thinner today, but I think he'll be properly hydrated and ready to fight by tomorrow night.
I'm excited to see Mayweather Jr. back in the ring, but I think this whole fight is nothing more than an over-hyped tune-up bout. Marquez may give Floyd a few problems, but he's no serious threat.
Freddie seems to have high hopes for Khan. I recently read that Freddie said Amir would be his next world champion and a future top P4P fighter. I trust Roach's instincts, so I'm eager to see how Khan turns out.
