Miguel Cotto has always said he wont shy away from a combat and Manny Pacquiao wouldn't be the exception. Not even the weight would be a big obstacle.
After ensure everyone all his focus is at the preparation to defend his title against Joshua Clottey on june 13 on MSG, "Junito" Cotto restated yesterday that he doesn't have a problem with the possibility of making a fight against the Filipino Pacquiao, just as publically stated by Bob Arum, president of the promotion company of both, Top Rank.
Another question was if the recent Pacquiaos victories make him afraid of him.
"Not at all". We will go prepared as we have done in the past, like we have done to all our fights.A boxer with good movement and good defense, will give him problems, just like Erik Morales did on their first fight". Recall Cotto referring to the UD that Morales got against Pacquiao back on march 2005.
looks like cotto is gonna be with top rank for a long time
u remember this was called like that a long time ago!!!!! :fing02:
and it seems that is gonna be like that ... but still....
we are only missing one piece of the puzzle.. and thats a victory over clottey....
nothing is secure till that fight.. cos if he looses.. arum will shit on him and tell him.. .hey u know what :fu2: go sign with somebody else.. im not giving u a chance to screw my CASHCOW.
This just hurts boxing in the long run. No one in the US, besides poverty stricken Puerto Ricans, knows who Miguel Cotto is. Cotto comes in, puts Pac to sleep in a couple rounds, and there goes the Pac hype train. People will be like, "Who is this guy?" Even if Mayweather-Cotto is made after that, it still doesn't 1/2 the PPV buys Mayweather-Pac would get.
Boxing suffers in the long run, and everyone is happy as long as Mayweather doesn't get Pac.
are you serious?????
well cotto already fought and beat shane so leave him out of it. the balls in cottos court hell decide when the rematch happens with no problem. pac idk, floyd avoids all the top 147
Cotto has fought and will fight everyone around his division, including a cemented HOFer, two guys that were promoted as "the guy that no one wants to fight" and is willing to give some advantage to the P4P king only to get the fight done. Yet there are people that question his heart for standing 11 rounds with a plastered fraud, while getting on their knees for fighters that don't even fight the elite within this division, people can be such hipocrites.

what would be your perfect scenario?
142 seems reasonable. Also it should be put in the contract, that if Cotto doesn't make the weight, then he will be forced to pay Manny the amount Manny would have made from the fight, and the fight should then be canceled.
^^^^^^^^^^^^
why dont ask cotto t ofight him with just one hand?
hehehehe :nono: to your demands..
hes willing to go down to 143

.si no pq siempre he querido ir a ny... nunca he ido.. y pues... ahi seria la perfecta.
Cant wait for this fight this is the fight i most want to see!!! Cotto vs Pac at 145 sounds good!
145? hell no. If Cotto comes down to 142, then I am all for it. But at 145 he has a extremely unfair advantage. Matter of fact If I was Freddie Roach I would make sure the fight took place at 141 or 142 lbs so that it would be a title fight, and with all the money that would be on the table, Cotto would make the weight.
frist cotto has said he would fight mayweather anytime he is ready that is old news remember it was said that mayweather left boxing becaues he did not want to lose to the best fighters in his division, will one of those fighters was cotto
