What I've learned the hard way with Pac is simply that everytime I've seen him fight a more skilled technical boxer he's made it a tough fight and has earned a close decision or Knockout, the only fight i thought he lost was the first JMM fight, the second was close and i had JMM by 1 point. the fact is Pac's not gonna rest, he's not gonna give rounds away and if Cotto's cut then he's gonna stop him. But I really don't see Pacmans bothering Cotto in such a manner. Think about it, does Pacman have a good uppercut? That is the punch that gives cotto problems not straight or hooks. Combine that with his hard stiff and might I add again very quick jab. Advantage Cotto.
You don't think Freddie Roach will have Pacman working on the uppercut in training camp?? Pacquiao didn't have much of a right before ricky hatton, but because Roach believed that was one of Ricky's weaknesses they worked on it and what happened? First round knockdown right hand. But almost any strategy that doesn't involve pretending to be Goldberg or Stone Cold Steve Austin can be formulated to defeat Ricky Hatton. Hatton's fight game has more holes in it than a report from the LAPD.
True, and although i did see great improvement from Cotto I still see some of the same flaws, he doesn't clinch, he doesn't keep his guard tight, and he still can't fight going back, all flaws Pac will take advantage of.I don't know man, I'm having a hard time seeing it. I feel the way I did before Money May fought Hatton, "get this fight on so we can all just shut the **** up". I'll have to see it with my own 2 eyes to believe that Pac can really beat a real world class welter.
The fact that I've not posted here in maybe a year should let you know I could care less about points. No disrespect, it's just serves me no purpose
w-l-d(win lose or draw). I just had something on my mind and decided to voice on the best avenue available, my favorite boxing site.
He has good power and Hatton is not the hardest guy to hit, one of those punches were bound to hurt him. Hatton running straight into the punch was a big factor as well. I wonder if the turnbuckle could've made it worse. The turnbuckle looks to be very padded though, and he didn't hit it nearly as hard as Tua did(lol).
lol yeh turnbuckle must of hurt and his head was spinnnin to he didnt even see the hook from floydI just watched Hatton collide with the turnbuckle again and you know it was a much harder collision than I remember. His head beat the shit out of that turnbuckle!LMAO!!!
nah, he jsut had to fight more...which is why i hated how he fought baldomir, hes always had good pop in is punches...
good fight though i was glad to see hatton ko'ed, haha
and floyd did great....i was happy for him too...You also have to remember he fought Baldomir with everlast gloves and broke his hand. I'll never forger his pink Breast Cancer Awareness gloves, a very thoughtful and humanitarian gesture but a bad move for his brittle hands.
I'm really really happy that finally one of the biggest hyped fights in the sport was exciting to watch and ended with a KO.
it was a great fight, mayweather proved he is the best of this generation (although i still feel he needs to fight cotto before he retires for real) and hatton is one of the classiest guys in the world. i watched the fight with about 15 of my friends who are all very casual fans and they were all patting me on the back at the end of the night and saying thanks for showing me a good fight.
needless to say i owe a thanks to floyd mayweather and ricky hatton for a great show.
ps- jeff lacy looked like shit. i don't think he's going to ever have a title again.I'm guessing Lacy was never that good to begin with.
OK as a former personal trainer I must interject here; intramuscular fat is along the lines of essential fat mass. All fat is catabolized the same through oxidation and through that oxidation process even essential fat mass can be dangerously catabolized. The catabolization of essential fat mass between the muscles and organs can be dangerous to normal bodily functions. One thing you must also realize is that muscular size doesn't necessarily influence muscular strength. There are people with much higher concentration of fast twitch muscle fibers and they are not particularly swollen; they just have greater firing percentages of their motor neurons and better neuromuscular strength. I said all that to say that merely by looking at someones physique you can't determine who the more powerful person is.Oh and about Butterbean, his phyique could be indicative of simply training for neuromuscular adaptation not muscular hypertrophy; like some of the guys in the Strongman competitions.
I personally feel that Tyson could have been a top 3 great of all time only if he had kept his head on straight. I was one of the blindest of Tyson fans even as a young boy 7 years old when he beat Holmes in 88' and very saddened when Buster Douglas knocked him out when I was 10. If only he remained focused and determined his place in history might not be a "what if".
can some one please sum up the pro's (if any) and cons for the big 4 belts as precisely and concisely as possible please.CONS: If you become the undisputed champion you must pay all of the sancioned bodies fees just to defend them. You must pay them to be their champion, the biggest con in professional sports.
So Butterbean is much bigger and has a strength advantage over say, a Shannon Briggs (the 270 version that fought Ibragimov ?)
Impossible to just look at someone and tell if they're ripped or not, I'm sure you've heard of intramuscular fat, you know like that marbling in say, a ribeye?OK as a former personal trainer I must interject here; intramuscular fat is along the lines of essential fat mass. Man I've only heard the name but every post I hear about Sven Ottke fails to be flattering. I've never seen a fight of his all I know is that a few years ago he was one of the undefeated champions and because of that I assumed he was damn good.
I actually despise Ottke. I wish I didn't but I just can't help it, he got so many screwed up, horribly corrupt dodgy hometown decisions that were so blatantly obvious he lost I feel disgusted by him and boxing in general in Germany. I don't think anywhere in the world are there more terrible robberies than there. Undefeated my ass! He has about twenty losses!
In fact I believe he is one of the most overrated hack champions I've ever witnessed and his pathetic excuse for boxing should have been shut down with his first loss...which unfortunately never did occur...even though he lost many decisions...if you know what I mean? I can't believe some people actually rate him highly or as some kind of defensive boxing wizz!?LMFAO!!!
i think people are under-estimating shane. floyd fought a great fight on saturday but mosley is a completely different style for him to deal with. shane will bring fast hands, good power and a JAB, all of which will cause floyd problems. im not saying that mosley will definitely win this fight but i think its a lot more competitive than people here are suggestingOk Mosley might have speed and power, but he also has the weakest pitter-pat jab I've ever seen...oh wait, Judah has one just like it! A jab like his won't take "Money May" out of his game one bit and we've all seen that Mosley these days is only looking for huge overhand rights. While he'll never quit like Judah did, he will get comprehensively out boxed more and more as the rounds went on and if "Money" fight like he did against Hatton, he may actually put Mosley on his ass or at least buckle him tremendously.
I'm training 5-6 days a week here in Atlanta in hopes that I could ever be 1%as good as "Money May"!!! He is my inspiration in the fight game; his style is what's called boxing my friends!!! One of the Trainers at my gym has been training for 50 years and he says that boxing doesn't exist anymore. It's a craft that must be honed a craft that means hit and not get hit. They constantly tell us that a boxer picks the punches he wants to connect with and as flush as they choose to connect. The don't have to punch for the bleachers because they're punch will be so accurate and precise that they will achieve the desired effect from a technically sound flush accurate punch. We work on fundamentals, not just walking into a ring and brawling. I would love to fight as magnificently as Floyd does, to be able to pick and choose what punch I will fuck you up with, because then my friends will the sweet science be totally under your grasp.
I guess with his natural advantage of most of his opponents doing what he did last night is possible against anyone he fights. The better the opponent the more cautious he will fight. I'm not sure what was going through his head but, destroying an opponent who was there for the taking, wasn't wasn't on his mind. As often as he landed flush with that jab, he could have followed it with a sharp right hand almost ever time. His performance was really disappointing, but he dominated the fight none the less.
If Klitschko beats Brock, which is up in the air, he says he wants Valuev. If the "S-Hammer" beats "Money in the Bank" then Valuev will recieve his first loss against the S-Hammer.
To be perfectly honest I think since Toney is a bigger name than Peter, and Toneys' American, the WBC is trying everthing they can to get an American fighter a championship. Now I know the WBC is based in South America, but still Toney is a bigger draw than Peter, and money is the prime motivator in this world. But if Toney goes along with Shilstone's program we might see the most impressive version of J-Lot(James "Lights Out" Toney") we have ever seen. That would make me happy because J-Lot is one of my favorite fighters, and seeing him in superb condition, and again fighting for a world championship would be alright with me.
This is boxing! Potentially the most corrupt sport in all of the world. You need not ask question that question logic, simply because throughout history boxing has shown little or no logic. It doesn't even have an organized governing body, how the hell can any decisions made by flaoting governing bodies have any credibility. For God's sake the IBF is in the back pocket of Don King, and the WBC is well known for absurd actions. Why the fuck do we have 4 world champions in the same division? Why the hell do we have 4 governing bodies for one sport? These problems will continue unless reputable pro and veterans band together to get once and for all one universal governing body and union of associated boxers. Until then, we the future pros and current fans will continue to see the ultimate regression of the former sport of kings.
Mayweather is a fucking dick. He's a disgrace to boxing - Seriously, he's a twat. He's talented, sure, but he won't draw any money in the future, because he's a dick. His interview with merchant was a joke, and proved what a hypocrit he is. Merchant asked him about being an entertainer, and why heput on a shit show, and he goes off on Merchant. Wanker. He's a prick who will be knocked out when he steps up against someone who isn't going to roll-over and be tickled liked a fucking bitch.
Damn son, you're mad like he fucked your wife, sister, and your mom.
Then why hate on the whole boxingscene posters?
Let floyd do his thing, Margarito will do his. And then we'll see who people will be asking for Floyd to fight next!Um...I think you might not understand what hating actually means. I'm peeping these clown ho card, i'm not hating. Hating is what you do when you unjustly judge someone or develop jealousy for them. I'm simply speaking to those who hate PBF because he's better than they could ever dream of being. Shit I dream of being as good as he is, I love the dudes fight game. Unlike T.O. he hasn't pissed on anything or anyone that I respected.
Then please rephrase your sentence, instead of using "everybody", use "some" when describing people going against floyd.
Why are you getting so defensive there partna? If you ain't say shit you never even had to post anything! Have you ever heard the statement "Thou protesteth too much"? If it wasn't you I was talking to you never would have said anything. We don't have to continue this, if you're not a hater then you're not a hater.
I may hate his character but I put my bet on him so not all floyd haters always lose. :lol1:Then stop hating and start participating. "Heal the world, teach people not to hate. Teach haters and busters how to congratulate"
I second that I wish I had that hand speed. I'd be the undisputed HW champ and nobody could contend. It's easy to hate PBF. He's got a loud mouth, and is arrogent. so what he backs it up. Will he be beat yeah someday. Not tonight. lol I got the handspeed, but I damn sure don't have his overall skill set. Not even close!
I thought Baldi won rounds 7, 8, and 12. 120 - 108?? No way. Boxing is a subjective sport. Baldomir wouldn't have won anyway, so charge it to the game. I personally don't think he won a single round.
Find an article where i said Baldomier would win, and i'll give you all my points.
You don't have to defend yourself if you never said anything....Right?
