:boxing: I Watched this one last night and again this morning, In this fight its the first time that Joe gets Knocked down, If you havnt seen this fight its worth a gander to see how Joe replys to his knocked down..For those of you who have seen it what is your take?:boxing:
Hopkins, will mug him amd foul him ALA winky wright. ..
as far as mnunurner saying "no way, he beats Hopkins"...thats just wack. Joe has a better chance then JT did..but you cant sleep on Hopkins he is willing to foul his way to victory.
I agree.
However we are talking a guy with awesome speed and skill and most importantly in this fight stamina.
Taylor beat Hopkins at his own game in two borefests (what was the punch count?), Calzaghe wont stop throwing shots and Hopkins only chance in my opinion is that he catches Calzaghe with a counter and knocks him out.....however Calzaghe has a great chin so.....
LMAO, Calzaghe got up and KO'd Mitchell immediately after the knockdown in the 2nd round. Joe Calzaghe has something Roy Jones Jr. will never have...a big heart and a great chin...Jones Jr. has no heart and a glass chin.
his 1st match against tarver he was drained from comin down from heavy.. was soft and not in great shape.. won that fight on heart fully...
Yeah, the thing is, unlike Roy, Joe got back up and won. :luvbed:

Its not Ottkes fault. Byron Mitchell was stupid enough to take HIS title to Germany to fight Sven Ottke.
Honestly, what would inspire you to take your title to Germany to fight Sven Ottke?
Same deal with Charles Brewer. He took HIS title to Germany. Why would you do that? Germany has a well established tradition of stealing world titles and distributing them to their own fighters.
Its not just Sven Ottke, I don't think any German champion has ever lost a title fight in Germany.
Calzaghe took his fight to Germany to fight Veit. He just took it out of the hands of the judges though.
I actually despise Ottke. I wish I didn't but I just can't help it, he got so many screwed up, horribly corrupt dodgy hometown decisions that were so blatantly obvious he lost I feel disgusted by him and boxing in general in Germany. I don't think anywhere in the world are there more terrible robberies than there. Undefeated my ass! He has about twenty losses!
In fact I believe he is one of the most overrated hack champions I've ever witnessed and his pathetic excuse for boxing should have been shut down with his first loss...which unfortunately never did occur...even though he lost many decisions...if you know what I mean? I can't believe some people actually rate him highly or as some kind of defensive boxing wizz!?
totally agree it was shamefull to see so many fighters robbed against ottke.
I actually hold no grudges against Ottke, he did nothing wrong. It was the judges who turned his name to mud, they are the ones who should be named, shamed and forever in disgrace. (unless they were paid off, in which case Ottke probably would have known and it WAS his fault)
Ottke was a joke, in the Reid fight he was constanly winging to the ref and trying to get Reid disqualified. I also have strong suspicions that the judges and refs were paid off during Ottkes career, hes a fraud.
as unlikely as it sounds, I thought the ref could have been paid off in the Reid fight, Reid got warned several times for having the audacity to punch Ottke.
Mitchell was getting hurt in there, you'd have to be somewhat of a cunt to complain about that stoppage.
Though in theory he could have let is go another half a round. Which would have been utterly pointless.
Its a shame, because as I said he was a decent fighter.
doesn't his name just repulse you though. In fairness its not his fault really. He was limited, but decent.
quick stoppage, home town ref. Joe missed his last ten punches...:cop:
:boxing: Lol it was lucky that it was stopped!!!Have you seen the fight? If the ref didnt step in when he did, Someone would be going home in a Ambalance:boxing:
Man I've only heard the name but every post I hear about Sven Ottke fails to be flattering. I've never seen a fight of his all I know is that a few years ago he was one of the undefeated champions and because of that I assumed he was damn good.
Bernard must really be in it for the money now. Accepting a mult-million contract to finish his career on a loss. All that business end of things has gone to his head. :)
