How about teach him not to get hit so often..There's a start..
At some point he's gonna get hit cleanly. Danny hit him with one clean shot Prescott hit him with one clean shot both KO'd him. Once you get to a certain level you can't avoid being hit cleanly it's gonna happen no matter what. Floyd avoids getting hit cleanly that's what makes him great. Khan is no Floyd.
I just had to vent real quick guys...I just got tired of all the it's not his weight class and poor little Floyd talk when I look back in history and see all these great fighters move up and fight bigger better fighters. They weren't afraid to lose they just wanted to test themselves and put Boxing center stage. To me Mayweather vs Golovkin would be bigger than Mayweather and Pacquiao at this point and if Mayweather called out Ward and said meet me at 164 the Boxing world would go crazy, but instead he's fighting Amir Khan...and that is not good for Boxing and all these damn fans supporting that type of shyt are hurting the sport.
Floyd vs Ward????man this site has gone full retard
So Duran can fight Barkley at 168 but its retarded for Floyd to fight Ward?? You wouldn't pay to see that?? Pop Floyds dick out of your mouth homie
Ward did say he would drop down to 160 for that fight but thats not the point i actually understand where your coming from on that topic most casual's who think like this are also big UFC fans and just like we never seen GSP fight andeson silva or silva fight jones or cain and all those mixes in between it's not his place no one should expect so much from one man ... but he should atleast be fighting all 154 champions and contenders since he is the number "1" guy there ..
AND THATS GOING BY STARTING WEIGHT .if floyd started at 147 then yeah all that would and should be expected from him
But Duran started his career at 118 and fought for a belt at 168?? DLH started at 130 he didn't cry about going to 160?? Jones started at 154 I believe and ended up fighting for a damn Heavy Weight Title?? Lmao why can't Floyd go from 130 to 160 at least?? He's good enough to do it...so why not. Robinson went from 147 to 175.
Paul Williams isn't that fast and fights inside for being so tall. Vargas would eat him up (Prime Vargas that is) because he had solid power and excellent technical skills, he as an awesome amateur. Williams is real raw, but is naturally athletic, and has good power. Vargas had a good chin until Tito changed it forever. I'd give it to Vargas all the way.
Vargas entering in a cage with a tiger against Wright. He also went toe to toe with Wright and won that fight if you ask me. It was close, but Winky was on the defensive a lot, as he usually is.
Yeah, McCain is a big Boxing fan, he even fought while in the Navy. It would be good to have one World body governing this whole thing. Too much money in it the way it is, though.
The greatest Colombian fighter was/is clearly Antonio Cervantes. Not only Colombian, but one of the greatest all time. He didn't have that freakish punching power that most Colombian fighters have today, but his skill was truly second to none. "Kid Pambele" is in my top 5 JWW all time, and that's saying a lot!
Hbo is not the leader in sports. Thats espn.
They are professionals in the ring. Nothing videotaped is disrespectful. When they show football players crying is that disrepectful? No.
HBO and ESPN are undert the same parent company and both have claimed to be leader in sports. EPSN is of course, but outside of that HBO does more commentating and specialization, like Boxing, Real Sports, Inside the NFL (not anymore), and everything else that they do. It was disrespectful to slow it down and put it in front of the world, after everything was over. Only to market the blood of the sport, and show how violent it can be. We all saw Cottos face, we saw his son crying, we saw him get badly beaten, no need to slow it down and show his face dripping with blood. Especially since they've never done that before.
Well we're talking about arguably the hardest hitting WW of all time. I mean Tito would hit people and they would never be the same (Ried, Campas, Vargas.) Mayorga had a good chin until he met Tito. At 147 Tito's power was brutalizing. I believe it would be an accumilation of punches that would eventually do Margarito in. It would be a good fight and I wish I could see it, but I say 10 round KO, Felix "Tito" Trinidad.
Tito is nowhere near the harderst puncher in Welterweight history..
You're fool if you think otherwise.
For one, I said arguably. Secondly, tell me who is? Hearns would also make a good arguement. Tito put people to sleep at WW, I don't care what you think. He even KO'd Joppy who was a Middleweight and never had been KO'd before, I'm not sure if he'd even ever been down. Tito was a devastating WW puncher. You're a fool if you think otherwise.
Arguello had a great chin and real power. He could cut the ring off and and his only losses came to Aaron Pryor when he had already been through wars, and was at the end of his career. In his prime Arguello beats Floyd, cuz at 130 Floyd was quick but real raw. If he was ever caught cleanly and Alexis would have done that, Floyd would have been in trouble.
Anyone who has Boxed will tell you that a person throwing slow punches like Margarito usually is heavy handed. Some fighters have power from speed and some just have heavy hands. They don't look fast but when they connect they make deep impact. Tony is heavy handed that's why his punches look slow, but that's why they break down opponents.
ANyone who can't see that Oscar is scared is just lying to themselves. Yeah, sure he has nothing to prove, which he doesn't. That still doesn't mean he's not ducking Margarito, it's the fight everyone wants DLH to end his career with and he's not going for it.
Larry was a halfback and defensive back for Oklahoma University.
You know he done it before.
Really, I didn't know that. He doesn't seem to have that kind of size. I know he was in the Army for some time, and thats where he started covering Boxing.
Every and any MMA fighter, especially the ones who are considered stand up fighters, but than flail like a fish out of water. Or the ones that do silly kicks they saw on t.v one day. It truly is an embarassment.
Definitely Ike, I think he had what it took to takeover the heavyweight division. He had an exciting style and people who'd of loved to see him fight. Career was cut really short.
Looky here doggies. De La Hoya and Hatton are better than Cotto. It wont make much sense(cents) for Floyd to go down in talent just to make 4 or 5 girls on Boxingscene happy. Why doesn't Cotto call out Hatton? Because he knows Hatton would tap that ass doggies. De La Hoya and Hatton and even Paul Williams are better opposition than Cotto. Thats what it is and it is like that. Thats the reality doggies. Quit hatin like little bitches and get with the program.
You know nothing about this sport obviously. Hatton should have lost to Collazo, who lost to Shane, who lost to Cotto. Williams lost to Quintana, who lost to, guess who? COTTO! DLH is old and could have beat Floyd if he stayed with his jab. All roads point to Cotto! Floyd doesn't want any part of it, cuz that prescious record is getting tarnished, if it does.
Where have you been reading that the ratings have been crappy?
The Delahoya vs Forbes and Hopkins vs Calzaghe were very good ratings, sure they aint doing what they did when George Foreman fought on HBO or when Trinidad fought Whittaker, but they are doing good ratings.
I would like to know where you are reading that the ratings have been bad.
On this damn site!! Where I get most of my Boxing news. I forgot which article it was but it was about the upcoming B.A.D show. And they said ratings are going down. What the hell is this about? I see this site full of Boxing fans just like me. And I've been on plenty more sites just like this. Why aren't we watching!!? It's up to us to show all these mainstream people whats up. Boxing won't die, but it's up to us to keep supporting it.
It's just a rivalry amongst the Boxing community. At the end of the day we are Hispanic and get categorized the same by White America. We share similar foods, music, and of course our language. To me I look at it as being from New York or Cali, of course the culture is different but at the end of the day you are American. The Puerto Ricans, Colombians, El Salvadorians etc. all blend in well amongst the Mexican community here in Texas. I know plenty of Mexican fans that think Cotto is better than Margarito and want to see him win so he will go KO Floyd.
Whoever wins will get their shot at DLH and Floyd. Probably in that order as well. If Margarito loses I see him in a rematch with Williams a fight with Zab and Berto is likely as well. If Cotto loses he would probably do the same.
Yeah it's five minute rounds for 3 rounds. Last time I checked 5 x 3 was 15! 15 minutes are you kidding me! And 10 of them are spent laying down humping each other. Boxers fight more than double that and still look ready to go. Where as MMA fighters fight 5 min and their ready to throw in the towel. Get real and get out of here. Boxing is the best.
What are people on this site really that ignorant???!!!! Am I the only person who watches and understands Boxing??? What in the hell is this twilight zone I'm living in!!!!! The biggest duck going on is clearly Floyd ducking Cotto!!!! I mean heeeeelllllllllooooooo does anyone not understand the importance of this fight. I can't believe I even have to explain this. Did anyone not see what Bradley did to Witter. Bradley C-class American Witter overrated British fighter....who cares about Hatton-Witter!!!!????? WHO CARES!!!? Floyd-Cotto is what everyone should be screaming for instead it's some fight between two overrated bums that would lose to Floyd or Cotto at the same time. I can't believe this is even an arguement.
I never read anywhere where Ward said he was rooting for Guerrero?? And if he is it's cuz they go way back. Floyd expects everyone who's black to root for him. Dude is kind of a douche bag not everyone's gonna root for him.
