Sven Ottke
also, people wanted him to fight Pavlik,Joe chose deadshot RJJ
Ha, Sven Ottke... the most protected home cooked fighter in history, he wasn’t in joes league
AJ can actually box, hits very hard and is strong as a bull.. he will be 250 odd for the fury fight and don’t be out wrestled..
I have AJ winning this despite of mauling we’ve just watched.
I think money will dictate this is the next fight, it’s too big
You don't get the point. Nobody is saying that Tyson is a bad fighter or that he never had the potential. I'm saying that obsession with Tyson from casuals is getting on nerves sometimes. They say he's the BEST fighter EVER after Ali.
Some casual fan got emotional when I've told him Tyson's resume isn't all that. I've told him Lennox Lewis, Holyfield has better resumes, and there's a lot of other fighters from other divisions with a far superior resumes....and he was like What you've been smoking, with the expression like I've said some dumbest **** he ever heard
Tyson was a beast in his early years, only boxing geeks think otherwise. Almost every single boxer interviewed rates Tyson as almost untouchable at that period.
You think 6'3 216lb Ali could take a Wilder right hand flush on the chin? You think he could rope a dope picking punches off his guard would work against him? Today's heavies are much larger, that means increased durability, there are no more 5'11 guys like Frazier. It's filled with 250lb guys that are just physically bigger.
Wilder's power is ridiculous and undeniable.
You do realise chicken legs is only 225lbs him self?
If wilder can’t knock you out he can’t beat you it’s as simple as that.
I’d add Lewis the to the big puncher list, I rate him as the top heavy in any list
I don’t complain I just beat people at their own games. Unless you’ve got posts calling out the anti black dog whistles then you can kindly shut the f**k up about anything that I post.
Your the biggest racist on here, you bring up race in almost every single thread.
This is how a lot of you idiots really think though. Black people discussing race is racism to you clowns lol. The same cowards will accuse blacks of “playing the race card”.
How about you learn the difference between the words “your” and “you’re” dumbf**k. Leave the discussion on complex issues to folk with an IQ higher than their age.
Posters did more than just bash Tank you illiterate Doritos smelling piece of s**t.
I couldn’t care less about your name calling because I know you wouldn’t have the heart to look up at me in the eye offline, let alone be disrespectful. You know it too.
How come every single thread involving a black boxer you pop up and turn it into something it isn’t, it’s happened a few times...your a very negative/bitter man.
Tank is trash, plenty white and Mexican boxers are trash too, what’s to argue about.
Tyson was dead, I would not include him in the list. Only Lewis still brags about beating that shot shell of Tyson (full of Zoloft, for good measure).
Ruddock had been softened by the very Tyson.
Klitschko was giving Lewis hell before suffering that horrible gash.
Lewis was a good fighter for sure, but definitely not all-time top 3.
PS getting knocked out by Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman while in your prime doesn't help.
Ps. Ali was dropped by many, including Henry Cooper. That means nothing, just that you were in competitive fights and found a way to win
I still have him beating chicken legs, I used to think he had Fury’s number too but I think he’d win on points.
Fury raises or lowers him self to the opposition.
I’m probly the only one that thinks AJ should actually get bigger, this getting lighter and soft is a bad move for him. He should throw heavy jabs and clinch, lean etc until the later rounds...only my opinion
I watched it with foreign Commentary, I thought Cannello was walking him down at will and catching him with counters when he wasn’t.
Kova is a shade of what he was and should hang the gloves up, he should have been shoving and bullying him all round the ring, in if anything Cannello looked stronger.
Our family get together for big fights, have a drink and have some food.
My co workers are casual fans, most my gym buds are real or casual boxing fans
Taylor outboxed and schooled the yank you americans are soft easy fight.
Are you for real, best fight I’ve seen in ages, takes two to tango...
Goes to show what happens when you don’t marinate a fight till both fighters are near to retirement
Close fight, wrong decision.
Could see a draw or Prograis by a round, but he didn't steamroll him, and Taylor was coming on around the 7th & 8th. I think Regis won cause Taylor was missing shots, both fought well though.
US fighters have to go for the KO or they'll be subject to this.
As far as rounds go there was one or two in it, but as far as the flow it of the fight, Taylor had him hurt. Fight of two halves ...
I dunno, but it’s sad when past greats and not do greats struggle to string a sentence together by middle age ...
I’m actually glad to I went with bodybuilding over boxing
All I asked for was a name YOU THINK Wilder would have had problems with, concerning the guys Mike fought up to the Berbick fight.
I'm ''obsessed'' with resumes. Sue me :dunno:
Name a guy mike would have problems with upto wilder fighting Fury?
I think Tyson was a great fighter. I can't deny that. But to say he could beat any heavyweight all-time is just ridiculous. I think he could completely dominate lesser competition but when he went up against another elite fighter or a very determined good fighter (Buster D) he folded. In other words, he was very good but is vastly overrated by some.
Along the same lines I think Ali is often overrated. Yes he was a great champion but he wasn't unbeatable. I see Ali as the Holyfield of the 60s and 70s. Took on a lot of great fighters and went to war several times but took some losses in the process.
I think any heavyweight in the top 10 all time has the tools to beat any other on any given night.
I can’t think of a single fighter you could argue would be unbeatable.
I think Lewis is probably the best all round heavy, but he was vulnerable at times too.
Boxes slower than George Foreman at the end of his career, just with out the power.
Dubois would tear him up, I’d go as far to say he’s a few fights off being ready for a shot
Top marks if someone can photoshop a spine into Chavez
The Mexicans must be down st the moment, Ruiz couldn’t be bothered to train, and son of a legend doesn’t train hard and lacks heart, getting booed out the ring is bad ****
I strogly believe that prime young Tyson was clean. But noone can be 100% sure, true.
Look at mike as an early teen, he was a huge muscular kid...
His prime at 220 ish he was clean as a whistle
I’m an ex bodybuilder I think I have a good eye for it, in some of his later fights post prison he looked a bit juicy to me.
Holyfield is the most obvious juicer in boxing, it’s not even worth arguing about anymore, Roy Jones too when he moved up.
Wilder is doing what Mike was but is getting nothing but hate.
No...mike was a complete fighter with beautiful movement and brutal force.
Wilder looses every round he doesn’t knock you out,he’s an awful fighter with a huge punch and a talent for landing it.
Winning is winning.
Wilder wouldn't lose a single rd vs the guys Mike fought leading up to him being the youngest HW champ. I don't know how a fight fan can credit Mike for beating the guys he did YET call other guys resumes trashy :lol1: !
Wilder looks like trash, the question I was answering is why Mike gets praise and why Wilder is dismissed. He has lost plenty rounds against very mediocre fighters. We all know he has the equaliser, there is no disputing that. He is a terrible boxer, only a totally biased fan boy could try and spin that he is some master boxer.
It’s cool on here to knock Mike, but whatever is said about him, he was hard to hit, had a great work rate, fast hands with great combinations and an incredible jab for a short guy punching up.
If Wilder had half of Mikes skills he’d be one of the best ever.
If you can name a guy Mike beat up to his fight with Berbick YOU THINK would trouble Wilder, I'd like to know his name.
Imho, Wilder wouldn't need as many punches to end those guys.
You think mike would have went 12 rounds with the fat Hiatian ? Wilder has fought 1 elite fighter in Fury, Ortiz is an old man, older and no where near as good as Holmes who mike gets no credit in beating.
Why are you obsessed with who he’s faced I was born in 81 I have no idea who beat on the way up...I do know Wilder has took the easy route all the way and only now feels he can fight the best.
I’m pretty sure mike fought and beat 8 of the top 10, there’s a long list who Deontay hasn’t fought, I’m not saying he couldn’t beat them, he just chose not to.
I honestly can’t tell the difference.
He takes about half an hr to finish a sentence
If football (soccer) players have a link to early Alzheimer’s from heading footballs what damage does 20 + years of sparing and fights do to you, if you honestly don’t see a link your kidding yourself
Your not meant to get repeated blows to the head, it is your choice that you want to tho
The prevalence of PEDs in sport is making boxing more dangerous than ever for sure. That's not to suggest that steroids are a new creation - only that their use is more widespread than ever before. At least one of the boxers OP mentioned is juiced to the gills, 100%.
Your kidding, they didn’t even test in the 70’s and 80’s... there’s no new drugs either, just the same old steroids with molecules tweaked to remain unknown.
The only real advances are EPO and IGF, growth is nothing new and was available totally undetectable from late 70,s
That 50 times better than his "preparation" for the first fight. If he can overcome mental health issues, drug problems and being 150 pounds overweight he can overcome anything.
Am I the only one who hasn’t forgotten his ‘mental health’ began and ended after failing a drugs test ?
Like an amateur boxer vs a professional in my opinion.
Holyfield lands the hard shots and roughs him up. A stoppage wouldn’t be out of the question.
Holyfield was possibly the best cruiserweight in history
Only cruiser to give him a fight is Haye, Usyk hasn’t got the power
