Was Kovalev winning or was the fight fixed?

Kovalev should have taken some risks and gone for a stoppage in the second half of the fight. He should have known that if it went the full 12 rounds, he'd never get a decision anyway. maybe he lost focus, or maybe he just didn't really give a ****...probably the later TBH.

It looked fixed to me, seriously. Like a light sparring session on Kov's side where most of the jabs were just tapping Canelo's gloves. Despicable, I'm watching more and more MMA the way boxing is going. Cheat Canelo is destroying the sport for sure.

If WBO175 gets vacated, the fight for the vacant title will be Zurdo vs Umar Salamov who looks like a Wal Mart Beterbiev. And we all know how much the WBO loves to put straps on Top Rank fighters. I dont see Zurdo fighting Beterbiev though, 39 fights at 168 and his most notable are Jesse Hart (twice) and the corpse of Artur Abraham. Not to mention Zurdo looked SOFT at 175. Like they told him he could gain seven pounds and he heard twenty seven.

Kovalev was given too much credit for jabs that were not landing. He was flicking his jab and Canelo was blocking with his high guard. I can't remember a power Kovalev punch in the fight. Canelo made the fight , he showed great defense and hit Kovalev with power punches . It wasn't close .

The bigger guy was backing up and couldn't hurt the smaller guy moving up at all. I had Kovalev winning by a healthy margin until the KO. I knew if he didn’t win by KO he was getting robbed. I don’t believe he took a dive, that was a legit KO. yeah a KO that kovalev welcomed. it was definitely a hard blow no doubt but you have to make it look that way to sell it.

It is pretty hilarious that even with all the holding back Kovalev did, he was still winning the fight. That's all with the jab, and not jabs to do damage like in his last fight when he literally KO'd a LHW KO-artist with a jab. But really even by refraining from any power punches or combinations, with the soft offense to make Canelo look competitive, it still wasn't competitive untill Canelo signaled the final stage of the fix. Very hard to make it look convincing to intelligent people when you got a naturally much bigger, better fighter pretending to be inferior. +1 GBP even labeled kov as from russia. dudes been reppin big bear for a long time every fight prior to this.

If he was winning he wasnt winning by enough to get a decision over Canelo. You have to beat Canelo like Floyd did and make the judges abort the robbery.

The fight is not fixed. It's madness to think otherwise. A lot of us predicted kovalev will get stopped or KO'ed, it just didn't happen to be a body shot KO. Kovalev has been ko'ed to the head before by eleider alvarez, and canelo is a way better fighter than eleider alvarez. Canelo has respectable power to keep guys like GGG and jacobs at bay, and kovalev is a way weaker version of himself who fought scared and was tired in the late rounds.
