I know this is a obvious statement and everyone in here knows this, but with the recent thread of the long time closed circuit promoter saying boxing is dead makes me say this. Boxing is the worlds oldest sport and will live on longer than any other sport. Sure it may not be AS big here in the states as it used to be, but thanks to every other country in the world it is still doing very well. Even though American may not have a whole lot of great champs anymore, all the foreign fighters always fight here to make the big bucks. Even with the MMA which might be taking some attention away from boxing, I think it has also brought some attention back to boxing. Not all people love boxing and hate MMA and the other way around, I think there are a lot of people that like both. I know quite a few people who started watching boxing because they are MMA fans and just plain like to see hand to hand combat but didn't watch boxing before because it is not on free tv like UFC. Also there have been many lower periods throughout the years of boxing and it always bounces back. I am not worried the least bit about the future of boxing. It is too big to every die completely. Well, first of all +1 for the Zappa av, one of my idols. Anyway, I've always felt that it's not really possible for boxing to ever die. It's been around forever, literally. However, it'll get smaller - professional boxing did that to itself by only having a few big fights a year, and with nothing but total and utter crap for the undercard which in turn stopped growing the sport and making fighters! I remember when I was a casual fan of boxing watching a card Mike Tyson was on, feeling bored and annoyed watching the fights before the Tyson fight. MMA, more specifically the UFC, has every fight on every one of their cards be a big fight, a really well matched fight. I just read an article on how PPV is cheaper for bars to buy UFC events rather than boxing, and UFC dates happen every moth without fail, stuff like that is what's killing boxing. I think stuff like Golden Boy's Fight Night Club is great, but it's too little too late, maybe if that was going on 20 years ago right after boxing was stopped being shown on World Wide of Sports it would have grown the sport, but I think it's too little too late now. It's like Jazz. Jazz ain't dead. A lot of it sucks, a lot of people have misconceptions about what jazz is, but trust me, it exists and will never die. It's just that both Jazz and Boxing had their height in the middle part of the 20th century. Makes me realize I was born about 5 decades too late....

I think Arreola wins but Jason Gavern is not bad, so don't judge Quezada on that alone. I was surprised that Banks didn't steamroll Gavern on the Vit-Sosnowski undercard. Would be interesting.
