If it's Kirkland, Canelo has a hard fight ahead of him. But thats the way it should be.
Cotto has it a bit easier with the other Irish guy Andy LEE.
Anyways I hope it happens May, no other fight can compete unless it's Pac Mayweather, who knows maybe we'll get lucky and get both.
Martinez>>>>>>>> Kirkland by miles.
Awful..TmT fighters are garbage features for every Mayweather fight. Hes too cheap to pay well known fighters to fill in the undercards with the exception of Garcia/Matthysse who he pretty much was forced to do to meet ppv expectations from the fallout of Guerrero.
Did you read your post? They'll wreck Mayweathers numbers apparently translates to possibly reaching a mill.
Apparently 'translates'? :lol1: wrecking meaning take away didn't Canelo state he wanted the May and Sept days back.
Didn't Canelo-Angulo and Canelo-Lara sell the same as Cotto-Martinez? Cotto is called the 3rd biggest draw. Yet Canelo just matched Cotto-Martinez PPV buys with fighters who have never been on PPV, and nearly doubled the PPV amount sold with their common opponent Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Only time Cotto did better in recent years was with Trout. Cotto-Trout did 1.4 million on the ratings, and Canelo-Trout did 1.1 million.
Canelo and Cotto is a natural fight and it will generate at least 600k PPV's, median prediction is 800k, and if the fight is hyped up and promoted to the max I can see it breaking 1 million and beyond.
Yes because everyone knows the media captured this image of a young hungry fighter in his prime. ..the media sold it well when he fought Mayweather.
Did you see how sh.it that Cotto/Martinez undercard was? Almost every PR fighter was coming off a loss Jorge Melendez, Wilfedo Vasquez Cotto/Martinez basically sold on its own esp being a Top Rank promoted card which there known to do that, provide a dull undercard. GB has options on how to stack an undercard when it comes to Canelo. Everyone rants about how Canelo brought these breaking numbers against Mayweather but that wasn't the case after he took the lose.
I just read two users on the 1st page who complained he was fighting Rubio to duck GGG. Then they said he was ducking.
Rubio is solid top 10 MW. A good 1st title defense.
The irony SMH. Stylistically i don't like the fight but Rubio is a top 10 I'm sure had Sergio defeated Cotto Rubio no doubt would of been next in line for him and I'm sure with no complaints.
Great logic. Canelo's a ppv fraud yet they'll break the record somehow :lol1:
Did you even read the post where did i say they would break numbers?:thinking: DECENT numbers but not for a Dec date...in May or June they have a better shot of reaching a mill.
I'm not interested in Rubio I feel Cotto outboxes him easily to a UD but it is what it is with the defense option after a hard opponent and I'm glad to hear his next fight is free on HBO. Canelo can wait with his fraud PPV 'starism' his fans make him out to be bubbbuut he brought most ppvs against Mayweather :lol1:...I'd save it for Cinco de Mayo weekend and wreck Mayweathers numbers or save it for the June tradition.
Like 75% of NSB thought Sergio would ktfo Cotto.
I thought it would be a close fight but was leaning towards Cotto; now everyone is talking about Sergio's knees.
Welp :lol1:
Yup. While some where saying Cotto's banking on Sergio's health, Sergio was banking on Cotto's size. I've heard it all the week leading to the fight "Cotto is too small for the Jr MW alone Sergio's too big".
It wasnt just his knees. His punch resistance was shot at the end of that fight too
:haha::haha::haha:
Watch out we have a nsb professional boxing trainer
Yup that's what happens I remember them talking about it while Fortuna kept puffing through his nose. And surely that's what happened after a round..I'll take q tip jabs up the nose instead.
You are a pathetic scumbag. Why is it you never come against Floyd and Broner? Ever? Not once. All you do is run around jumping into threads defending those two sub-humans and their antics (which, let's not forget, are deliberately designed to be annoying, to be provocative, to antagonise people - which makes you defending their ass even more laughable and idiotic).
People don't like this clip because it's by someone who has just come off an appalling fight/performance and is simply posting this sh*t, like 99% of his crap, as a cheap way of getting attention. It has as much merit as him leaking a clip of him getting head. The intention is the same. And the more and more this idiot slips into irrelevancy, the more stupid clips will be all he has to fall back on.
Also pretty funny how two Floyd stans (sweet, you and Adrien have that in common, though he is a bit more relaxed about flying onto BoxingScene to protect Floyd than you) have the nerve to call anyone/anything boring. Mayweather is in terms of excitement, one of the worst PPV stars of all time.
Completely crucified Jack Dempsey 100000% facts here :rofl:
Nah. Murray, Macklin, Chavez, Williams and Pavlik all floored him
This is not true
No what I meant to say he's gone down at least once in those fights. It's nothing new to see Martinez consistently go down and get up to continue.
Canelo isn't the ppv stud ppl make him out to be. Sure he got 2.2 mil with Floyd because they really captured the image of this undefeated young fighter who could handle Floyd for his first L apparently that wasn't the case and on the very next fight his ppv weren't even a quarter of what he made.
I'd say 1.7mil on a December month would be decent. With the Martinez win over the weekend it propelled Cotto's popularity and not that it means much but with Roach on the corner he gives him that extra shine.
Long live Cotto is right..I'd say 6,7, or 8. He won't be up there too long he's in a weight class unheard of in his range but as a fan it's an honor to say he's on the p4p list, 3rd biggest draw in boxing, and a 4 division champ being Martinez has never been above 159 and Cotto doing it all way past his own prime.
If he retires tomorrow I'm satisfied sadly money would be his motive to continue.
Bro there have been like maybe 10 cards to ever pull in that many buys. Tad better than decent.
Your right but we still don't know what the undercard would provide. 1.7 may be a long shot but not impossible its a shame Mayweather got these Mexican holidays hostage.
Cotto by decision but if I were him I'd invest heavily on making sure there's beyond neutral judges even by all means sacrificing some concessions. There's always that 2-1 judging against you when Canelo's around let's not forget especially in the Mayweather fight those judges made that L look good.
Cotto's had 3 catchweights in his entire career... Canelo has had 3 catchweights in his last 3 fights, maybe try to avoid that topic.
:biggthump:biggthump: but but he's only 23! Can you give him a pass?
And like WBO doesn't hook up PR boxers? lol
Fact is, Cotto is NOT a true champion and neither is Canelo. Both definitely aren't the epitome of a warrior.
And if you want to get technical. The catch weights that Canelo did also benefit the fighters he was facing Angulo/Lara as well as him. This wasn't a drain in progress type like Cotto's to Margarito/Martinez.
I do nothing but laugh at your posts. Especially the ones you say ppl 'spin' on the audacity of you :rofl:
Didnt Canelo win his WBC 154 pound belt by way of vacant against a welterweight in Mathew Hatton? and if my memory is right Canelo has 3 catchweights in his last 4 fights? right? Right?
He actually came overweight for his 'first' title fight being even at a CW. Normally, you lose the title on the scales before the fight even starts how he got it he should thank his yayo WBC connect.
