I'm a fan of Cotto. He's the type of fighter you can't help but respect. A true vet. That being said, do you all realize who he's been in the ring with? It's not worthy of hyping him to this extent.
Delvin Rodriguez, lmao... and a 39 year old Sergio Martinez who we all know is way passed his prime.
Anyway, you guys can continue to drink that kool aid. There's a reason Cotto took that bs fight over 10 million with Canelo.
Canelo beat Trout, who destroyed Cotto, and Lara, the guy everyone is avoiding.
I do think Canelo vs Cotto will be a great fight because both come to fight. But, Canelo will stop Cotto.
Roach doesn't have a magic wand. Stop with that. Cotto should stay away from Canelo and fight dudes that are fading.
I like both these guys a lot so I hope they don't fight but if they do, Canelo by stoppage or "no mas."
:boxing:
If you're really okay with everybody disagreeing with you (other than the Broner fan, who himself doesnt count anyway), then why do you feel the need to announce it? Who are you really assuring here?
So far most agree. Other than the Puerto Ricans, who have to call out the race card. And may I say, have the most biased fans on here, ex: PRBOXINGCOTTO, yeah...
I, for one, think Cotto is good. He's just not "NEW" or "BACK." He fought Delvin freaking Rodriguez and a shot Sergio Martinez. He did this because he wanted to test himself, to see where he's at. He's a very smart business man and he's vert smart with his career wise. He's building momentum. Until I see him in the ring in a 50-50 fight, and THEN performs the way he has...he's nothing "NEW."
Remember Cotto, with Pedro Diaz, gave Mayweather a solid fight.
I'm guessing he wasn't BACK then? Lol.
The only time I saw canelo hurt was when Miguel cotto's brother landed a nice shot on him I wonder how good his chin is.. can the new rejuvenated cotto hurt canelo?
Can't remember what round but Floyd buzzed canelo's ass too he cracked him with a right and Canelo's stopped in his tracks and started back tracking. The kid is good but he is very beatable. I personally think he has a problem making 154, he has simply outgrown the division.
Martinez two big problems were:
Cotto - he fought a great fight
A long ass layoff after an injury, that looked healed to me.
Look Martinez got hurt early, couldn't recover and then everyone and their brother want to jump on his knees were bad. Whatever......
Let's say Cotto knocks Canelo the **** out, what's the next excuse to be trotted out???
At the top people, fighters win, fighters lose that's reality. It's a tough game,if you can't deal with that GTFO!!!

Canelo can take a punch, Cotto not nearly as well. If Cotto fights a fighter that can take a punch as good as he gives, he'll get seriously hurt. Cotto is tailor-made for Canelo. Canelo's last fights were against stylistic nightmares in Mayweather and Lara so fighting Cotto will be a walk in the park. Canelo by TKO.
Cotto's chin is above average but Canelo can defintely hurt him in there, but I think Cotto can hurt Canelo too. He's mainly fought smaller guys most of his career and Mayweather, Lara and Trout aren't power punchers by any means. Angulo doesn't really have any power either, but especially in that fight.
Cotto had to go lower against Manny and I counted that one for him as well.
You have to go by draining an opponent. Canelo hasn't been trying to do that. Like I said, it benefits both boxers. Still a diva act and I hate catch weights as it is. Not fair to the honest hard working boxers that don't have that luxury.
Cotto isn't taking PEDs. Gavin MacMillan is very good at what he does. I think he has more to do with building Cotto than Roach to be honest. Roach has always been overrated/overhyped.
One that he had to go lower in. I see how you're trying to spin it but just FYI, I'm not calling Canelo the epitome of a warrior either. He's a diva just like Cotto.

Months? Since June 7th. "Something is up" is purely sufficient for now. That's all anyone knows. We'll see how this situation develops. If you're speaking as a fanboy save it.
You were saying BEFORE the fight that you wouldn't be surprised if Cotto looked faster, stronger, and quicker than ever before while clearly insinuating you believed he was juicing.
Come out and accuse him.

I'm not using a logical fallacy. I'm not outright downplaying your accusations either.
But I'm well aware of how the state and quality of an opponent can make a guy look like a mini Tyson, much like how guys facing bums can look like monsters until they step up to the higher level.
So I need your eyes to tell me something? :lol1:
I'll pass.
We shall see. But Martinez's legs were pretty clearly done, you could see this from the opening bell.
Did I say anything about Martinez's legs in that post? No. I didn't.
More 'logical fallacy' at work here.
If you're gonna accuse him of juicing, just come out and say it. You've been beating around the bush with that for months.

Well, he's the same Cotto, he's just beating some new ***.
Cotto is a really fun fighter to watch. If Cotto's fighting, then I'm watching. That's for sure.
I came to the conclusion (after 1000 PED discussions with my older bro) that it's unfair to accuse a fighter of taking PEDs when the only evidence to support such accusations are improvements in the ring i.e. seemingly more power, quicker hand speed etc…
imho Giving the fighter the benefit of the doubt when there is no shred of tangible evidence of PED use should be the best route.
Can you imagine if you were failing a class and you end up writing an A+ final research paper but the rest of the class thinks that you cheated when in reality you just worked your *** off?
Now, I'm sure I haven't read every single piece of news on Cotto so I'm not sure if he's ever been implicated in any PED use, so if he has, then my argument for him is moot. However, I haven't found anything like that.
This is what you call 'logical fallacy.' If you can't see the speed, the lightness in his feet, the quickness in his reactions, the increase in his punching power - then you're a moron. Something is up and it isn't just his opposition the last two fights. His next match should make this overwhelmingly apparent.
If you're gonna accuse him of juicing, just come out and say it. You've been beating around the bush with that for months.
