4. 0 wow factor. no athleticism. no power. just a lot of fouling.



i scratch my head at how this dude even carved out a career for himself in pro sports. and now he critiques people who actually fight within the rules of boxing. This dude is the biggest con job in boxing history. Period.

I’ve been saying he’s overrated.
Having an “undefeated” record doesn’t mean you’re automatically better than everybody or anybody.

Ward boxed beautifully. But people don't have to take my word for it, they can watch the fight and judge for themselves.

Round 2 is a perfect example of how boxing fans often have no idea what they're watching. They think Ward just clinches to spoil, but you can watch him here and he's using the clinch to muscle Kessler around and land punches. Fighting in the clinch has become such a lost art that people have forgotten how a fighter can use the clinch to really put hurt on someone.

Ward was masterful at fighting in the clinch. He would negate the other fighter and position himself to land his own shots. But Ward haters just claim he was doing nothing but foul and spoil.

He was the dirtiest fighter I've ever seen at that sort of level. Amazing how he got away with his 'style' he was a damn cheat and before a piece of **** like just the facts or 'goldie' accuses me of being racist I said the same thing about wlad, both hiding away nations where they could get away with cheating, although in ward case its even worse cause they robbed opponents too when he should have lost. Ward was just a horrible fighter all round to watch, his 'skills' were very overrated too as he sc****d past froch by one round and lost to kovalev and had to cheat to win rematch. Literally last punches he threw in his career were low blows.

People can **** on Ward all they want but he was one of the most supremely skilled boxers of the modern era. The man was very good at everything, and great at many things. Few fighters were as good at transitioning between offense and defense at any range like Ward. He could dominate inside and outside.

The man basically beat Carl Froch with just his left hand. In fact he didn't just beat him, but dominated him.

I hate what happened in the Kovalev rematch as much as anyone, it made me stop watching boxing for years afterwards. If you're denying just how excellent a fighter Ward was, though, you're flat out wrong.

No offense but apart from American networks hoping for the next Leonard and people like Nelson on sky trying to jump on the black wagon, who remembers ward?

He did nothing before the s6, then joined and somehow fouled his way to a win over Kessler, had an easy path through the tournament but then actually showed some balls against froch.

Just when I was getting to like him he ducked bute, ducked a froch rematch, fought nobodies and finally faced kovalev, only to lose. He then fouled his way to the single worst win of the decade.
