A contract with a blank date that they were waiting for Hearn to give them.

That's the reason you believe Hearn wanted the fight next? Because he sent them a contract that DIDN'T state the fight was next? You're not making any sense.

Then why is AJ a 16 to 1 favorite over Povetkin, but only a 2 to 1 favorite over Wilder? You're not making any sense.

Here we agree completely. But also let's mention feigning interest in the Wilder fight also leveraged Povetkin's team into making a deal and not pursuing a purse bid, since Hearn could just sign the Wilder fight (and possibly even a rematch) and make Povetkin wait a very long time.

Then why did he turn down 50 million to fight the best after asking for 50 million?

How is that proof Hearn preferred Wilder next? He was negotiating with Povetkin and would have been asking for extensions anyway to avoid a purse bid. For months, Hearn stated Povetkin was likely next and Wilder after that. Why would the extensions change that?

Depends on the sanctioning body and depends on the situation.

Generally sanctioning bodies make their money from selling title shots and they sell title shots through regional titles, eliminators, final eliminators, interim titles, etc. Making people pay to move up the rankings in hopes of getting a shot at a recognized world boxing championship.

The problem with unified champions is that fewer mandatories are getting title shots, so there is less incentive to pursue a shot as a mandatory as the wait becomes longer as the unified champion goes through the rotating mandatories.

However, you have some champions who are making such large purses that the bodies all want a piece of that action and it's worth dealing with the downside of a unified champion.

If I ran the sanctioning bodies, I would do everything possible to crown and maintain an undisputed heavyweight champion, while allowing the other divisions to remain fragmented. Casual fans would be more accepting of multiple champions in lower divisions if they at least knew who the world heavyweight champion was. Heavyweight boxing was massive in the 80s and 90s during that five year period with an undisputed champion. Boxing would benefit so much if there was an undisputed heavyweight champion at all times.

That's not true. Wilder verbally accepted a Fall 2018 fight. Hearn did NOT send a contract that reflected that term.

Of course he was going to send back a signed contract. You can't be this dense. Why would he send back an UNSIGNED contract?!? You can't seriously be this ******.

I've never worked for Al, but I have worked for a couple PBC promoters.

I've never claimed to work for the sanctioning bodies. In fact, I've repeatedly denied working for the sanctioning bodies and have said numerous times I want all of the sanctioning bodies to go bankrupt.

Wilder's team believes RIGHT NOW is the most susceptible AJ will ever be and that he's getting better with each fight.

So regardless of what you think, I can tell you as someone who speaks regularly to Wilder's promoter and does business with him that the whole Wilder team desperately wanted the AJ fight ASAP. They felt their best chance to beat AJ was this year.
