Welcome back. You've been away for 3 years but don't worry, wilder still hasn't fought anybody. Enjoy the fights this weekend.

It's actually funny that both Wilder and Joshua get a lot of hate on here. You would think it's because of the one thing they have in common. There seem to be a special kind of hate reserved for Wilder. Klitschko fought nothing but bums for an entire decade and no one said a word. And he was incredibly boring doing it. Now people are literally expecting Wilder to beat King Kong or else he's a fraud.

I definitely don't hate him, but when any fighter talk they better back it up with their resume or facts. Kell Brook chats rubbish that his resume couldn't back up prior to his last two fights and i called him out on it.

Wilder chat the same thing and i called him out on it on here, my thing is don't say certain stuff when your resume doesn't agree with you. Am all for bigging yourself up, selling a fight, trash talking etc But be aware of calling yourself the man of the division or accusing others of ducking you when you haven't done much in 9/10 years.

All-time great? That's hilarious. He has terrible technique and his fanboys try to tell us he has better technique than Marquez, Arguello etc; and he's got the worst 10 year resume of any championship level fighter ever. Seriously, the same folks that talk about him as a great fighter are the same ones thrashing Lomachenko's resume and Loma has a better resume BY FAR and that's with 11 fights vs. 39 and 4 years as pro vs. 10.

On top of that he's assaulted women before, started a street fight in front of a man's wife and kids, is a racist, is dumb as rocks and has wished death upon opponents. We are supposed to like this guy?

I am not a Wilder fan but I agree a lot of the hate he gets is unjustified. He needs to fight better people without a doubt. He has power but I think his skill level is not good. The windmill punches are embarrassing for a 32 yr old champion with almost 40 pro fights.

However, he must scare the bejesus out of the top HWT's because they either cheat when they are signed to fight him or suggest they will fight 3 times before fighting him.

There are plenty of non-black people doing well in boxing. According the transnational rankings (my preferred rankings) there are only 2 black guys on their P4P list.

But go ask them. But maybe following golf or tennis with more white people isn't as enjoyable as a combat sport. And maybe MMA has too many foreign mfers & wrestling is kinda gay.

Race has a lot to do with the same people liking Wilder and hating GGG. Black dudes hate on Golovkin for similar things Wilder does. When someone calls one of you out for it, screams of "you're racist" come out even though it's not.

I like Wilder. Will continue to do so and will cheer on them for their fights coming up. However, Wilder is barely taking his first real crack at competition. Ortiz is coming off surgery and isn't as young. I know that will hurt the Wilder groupies but it's true.

Is it really racially motivated to point out the flaws with Wilder? I have a lot of problems with jumping to that conclusion...for one thing King Kong is as Black as any African American in America. Batiste was a Creole Cuban who gladly sold his people down the river, so was the whole appuratus in Detroit by the way, who sold the city to white investors... the final lawyer who gladly sacrificed pensions for workers there was part of the black Burocracy, he was hired by them to do the dirty job. So my question is who is blackest here? the Creole from Cuba, the member of the Black Burocracy in a major city? or the fighter from Alabama with a banjo on his knee?

Under these conditions one must ask, how does Wilder identify? He is not thuggish so he does not identify as a street guy, you know like Bronner or Spadafora... Please don't misunderstand, I am not equating thuggery to Blackness, just asking a general question here. In my white guy mind, he does not appear to be a Black fighter so much, as an American fighter who happens to be Black! I mean seriously! Wilder to me presents very much as a wholesome individual. Does not mean he can't take care of business when it gets dat way, but he certainly acts like a gentleman...reminds me a bit of Holyfield that way...I could even see him as a well educated black southern gentleman who happens to be Black when he ages.

I mean the OP of this thread comes from a Canadian city with the largest Italian population in North America, several Black posters have said they have no particular love for Wilder...thats not much of a sample but it does perhaps tell us something. I get that some fighters are appropriated by one ethnic group or another...fighters like Gatti, the Italian Stallion! just like Rocky!!! Mayweather as a Black man who is rich and famous...etc etc. I just don't see it so much with Wilder. Not that he is not a black man, not that he is acting other than a black man...simply that there is a such thing as an American, and a Southern Amercan, and a new class of Southern Americans, both white and black, rising up from the poor to the middle class with an education.

Wilder does a good job learning the craft, he is smart, but when he starts this saturday, things get real quick, he is in with a crafty, very talented fighter who can avoid one punch if it is not set up... and his color won't matter a bit.
