Why has GGG's career been moved so slowly?

I'm absolutely certain that had Ward made a move and told ROC to make the fight at a time when Team GG was desperate for fights, the fight would have happened. Ward did nothing. Where was Ward before and after the Monroe fight? He's very much around blowing up smoke. ROC his new home was itching to make fights, any fight. Ward did nothing.

at that time Roc CEO Dave Iskowitz went on record saying Ward would need a few tuneups before facing any serious threats......

do you guys think you criticize golovkin as much as you criticize mayweather, or vice versa?

You sure it's this? I want him to fight Canelo-I just think Canelo has a few less riskier options that he can make big money fighting so GGG may find himself in the same position he's been in for some years.

I am tired of him beating huge underdogs. I'm surprised others are not as well given "no chance to win" has often been cited by NSB posters as the reason they do not like watching fights?.

Canelo will be an underdog too. Most people agree that Golovkin will beat him.

The only fighter who GGG would be an uderdog against is Andre Ward, a LHW.

It's not that other fighters are that bad, it's Golovkin who is that good.

OK. as I explained to DreamerUSA my pointing this out was in response to posters who criticized Jacobs title defenses because he won a vacant belt. GGG didn't even win the belt, he got elevated.

It's not a criticism of him as much as it is pointing out reality when one of his bandwagon jumpers get out of hand.

Again, I don't see how its unfair.

Again, why does it matter if fans are criticizing Jacobs? Jacobs is clearly one of the best in the division and deserving of a title as he just proved by crushing a top five mw. As you saw in the other thread-I agreed it is somewhat petty (and done in part to needle GGG diehards) if taken out of context. Within the context of that discussion-I think if you find Jacobs' defense lacks credibility because of the way he won his title, I would expect you to feel the same about GGG's defenses.

GGG makes money by fighting low caliber opponents so there is no need to move him into more dangerous waters right now. He is just going to be fed weak opponents with no chance to win until the Canelo fight.

Basically, he is personifying the very thing posters complained about for years. Now, they suddenly understand the concept and see the merits of it.

That's the point. Ward's dilly dallying attitude made him look weak and Team GGG would have capitalized on it and went ahead with their challenge at 168.

His willing ness to fight only certain guys and not others at 168 is something I felt he deserved criticism for so I criticized him. I have criticized HBO for protecting him. I said its hard to complain about 155 when he said what he did regarding 154.

I have NEVER blamed him for being avoided, only for making fights I felt were BS or beneath his skill level. Other than that, what have you seen me criticize him for?

Again, we are operating in an environment where GGG is likely not to get a shot at the MW title he covets. SO we are discussing th choices he and his team make while waiting. Can we please not forget that.
