Everything else people are complaining about is trivial bull****, I want to see fights not some walk out or ring announcer.

It just feels like a ship without a captain. The ship is cool and pretty much self piloting but still it needs someone to make sure everything is working the way it should be.

I agree about the rest, some stuff I get watching without commercials or without bad language filters is much cooler but it is not like they won't show a dude getting laid out over and over again. The announcers I don't know I kind of like Marv Albert because he is more hands off, although him in combination with Ray Leonard may not be workable because Leonard seems to work best when an announcer draws stuff out of him which is not what Marv does.

I would never allow Guys like Lara or Dirrel headline fights.

As a hardcore fan, these guys turn even me off to the sport. They sure as heck won't build you the casual fan base.

They need to create superstars who will build a following anxious to see their next fight. This means quality fighters who fight at least 4 times per year and a 'supporting cast' of up and comers who fight 6 times per year. They have to create rivalries. People need familiarity, they need a favourite to cheer for, a reason to tune in. They need to create some NAMES that will make the show 'must see' viewing.

WWE would never have worked if you only saw Hulk Hogan, or whoever your favourite was, twice per year on your TV. Baseball or football or hockey would not be successful if you only got to see your team two times a year.

I really think Haymon is bringing up his stable of fighters the right way...

          He's going old school.

To appeal to the casual audience, he has to provide some sample servings free. In return, his fighters (product) gets exposure.

Bringing up his fighters in this fashion not only gets him new consumers, but he also gets an opportunity to bring up his fighters slow.

Julio Cesar Chavez, Duran, Hagler, Hearns, etc. we're all brought up in a similar fashion. They were slowly introduced to a national audience on free television.

Not the most exciting match ups, intially, but it led to household names... and eventually we had some of the most epic match ups between some of the most storied, slowly brought along pugilists in a not too far forgotten era.

These moves Haymon has made has all the potential to propel some of these fighters right smack dab back into the spotlight - all while on free television - or into the shadowy corners of obscurity.

More than anything it is a slow and effective way to introduce us, and the casuals, to new eventual PPV stars...

And right back to the bank he goes.

          Mayweather smiles.

-don't focus SO HARD on the story, after one of the shows a month or so ago it seemed like everyone involved with PBC has had cancer or some affliction affect them that seemed promotable, get people interested in the matchups, the people, not just one guys personal struggles

-throw some fights in regions where they make sense for the fighters involved, the battle of Ohio going down in Nevada is beyond ******ed, either change the name of that fight or throw that fight in Cleveland or Cincinnati, you won't need to give out tickets & you'll have a more passionate audience which can bring excitement to fans at home to some degree

-those NBC primetime shows need to all be EVENT fights, HBO quality events with more buildup than they are getting now in as many avenues, the cards should be loaded & they need that BIG FIGHT FEEL

-stream the off TV undercard fights on the PBC website for free, weigh ins & media **** should be on the PBC site as well, this is one of the times when TR is doing a lot of stuff right, TR is showing undercards, weigh in & many media things for their big fights on TR.com

-ditch the big name announcers & get some people that are passionate about boxing, one of the problem with boxing announcers is they are like people in bad marriages talking about love cuz of so many of the issues involved in boxing with corruption, excessive champions, bs decisions, etc & so on, they are cynical as **** & that transfers over to the viewership, get some new faces who haven't seen too much boxing bs, but are actually passionate about the sport, find the new Al Bernstein & Max Kellerman basically whos gonna find the positive in any situation & don't focus so much on the negative aspects of boxing but can put the negative aspects in prettier frame when necessary instead of going on anti-boxing tirades as the Atlas' & Lederman's can do, find a Joe Rogan type mfer who you think could have an ****** from watching a fight they are so into boxing that they celebrate the sport from the 4 round fights to the huge even fights

This would be a great thing. Schaeffer working his magic with sponsors & **** will be HUGE for PBC. I suspect PBC's growth will happen once/if Schaeffer gets involved.

Haymon cannot tell them what to cover on their sports news shows anymore than he can tell CNN what they should cover as news. If that became public knowledge, the scandal would force ESPN to cancel all boxing programming and coverage.
I have HBO and Showtime just for the boxing and a lot of my hardcore boxing friend's do to, a lot of the older guys at my job have HBO and Showtime just for the boxing and the older guys don't even speak English all that great. I watched the show True detective the first season, it was alright never got into the game of thrones to be honest.

I would never pay to watch sports, any sports. It costs me 15 bucks a month for 5 movie channels and 2 HBO stations and that includes something called Cravetv which is an on demand service that gives me access to almost the entire Showtime and HBO programming back catalogue along with hundreds of other older TV series such as every Star Trek series and Seinfeld, Friends, and much more. I can access this from my television directly or from any computer or portable device such as a tablet or smart phone. There is more programming available to me on that bonus than I could possibly watch even if I watched Crave exclusively 24 hours a day for the rest of my life.

                  Cravetv.ca

As far as I am concerned, boxing on HBO costs me nothing at all.

Same here. I do watch movies & the occasional show on each channel, but truth be told if there was no boxing on either then I wouldn't have them.

The top reason I got HBO & SHO was for the boxing cards.

Obviously the matchmaking needs to improve because Robert Guerrero vs Joe Schmo doesn't deserve prime time viewing. What would you do to improve the PBC series?
Honestly nothing, especially this early into the whole thing. Besides that, they've already changed some of the things that were bothering me (keeping the Hanz Zimmer Oscar music to just the thematic elements of the PBC broadcast, giving the fighters more discretion in the music that they walk out to, having the fighters accompanied to the ring by the chief second/third, showing the belts at the end of fights).

Just hoping that quality matchups keep coming
