What would you do to improve the "PBC" series?

Same here man if there was no boxing on those networks I wouldn't have them, I ended up getting a new deal with Comcast were I get all the premium channels like HBO,Showtime, Encore, cinamax and Stars for 20 bucks a month for a year which is a cool deal.Comment

I might actually consider dropping Showtime pretty soon...they're stable is hurting majorly now that HBO swiped Canelo and PBC has depleted them of the vast majority of their fightersComment

HBO has put on the best fights of the year so far. The fights this weekend continue that trend, Walters-Marriaga is going to be a war between two KO artists.
You look at the year so far, how many of PBC's roster has actually gotten any airtime? Not too many guys and the year is half gone. It's great to have all these guys in the stable but it's another thing to promise each one the world and be able to deliver.
Step up the production quality, bring back the ring card girls, have traditional intros with an announcer, and regular ring walks with actual music.Comment

If they're going to keep the format, almost wrestling like, they should just go for broke and unleash the beast. Let the fighters free to go and instigate, or call out others from the stage or after figts. Let it become somewhat of a spectacle like wrestling, with over the top drama and personalities. Real fights, but inflated drama to make casuals eat it up. It would be so great!

Haymon is working to present the product in a clean way for the masses; Sprite and Oscar Mayer, aren't going to have their products affiliated with girls in short short and push-ups, overly excessive profanity, and a center ring featuring 50 bodies with ten different organizations/parties all needing mention. Its not being afraid of change, its basically the concept of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Boxing has been fine as it is for decades, but haymons cards have more of a ufc feel to them. Something about a fighter walking alone to an ring,to the tune of generic, family approved music makes me think of a conveyer belt. If haymon somehow betters the sport, then more power to him.
He initially took things to too clean an point, but he's found about where the masses are fine with.Comment

This toned down, family friendly stuff is ******...
Boxing is an adult sport...and is perfect for reality TV... The cast of characters trump anything in any other sport...
They need to bring out boxing's personality and not try and suppress itComment

^^^^^ this.-don't focus SO HARD on the story, after one of the shows a month or so ago it seemed like everyone involved with PBC has had cancer or some affliction affect them that seemed promotable, get people interested in the matchups, the people, not just one guys personal struggles
-throw some fights in regions where they make sense for the fighters involved, the battle of Ohio going down in Nevada is beyond ******ed, either change the name of that fight or throw that fight in Cleveland or Cincinnati, you won't need to give out tickets & you'll have a more passionate audience which can bring excitement to fans at home to some degree
-those NBC primetime shows need to all be EVENT fights, HBO quality events with more buildup than they are getting now in as many avenues, the cards should be loaded & they need that BIG FIGHT FEEL
-stream the off TV undercard fights on the PBC website for free, weigh ins & media **** should be on the PBC site as well, this is one of the times when TR is doing a lot of stuff right, TR is showing undercards, weigh in & many media things for their big fights on TR.com
-ditch the big name announcers & get some people that are passionate about boxing, one of the problem with boxing announcers is they are like people in bad marriages talking about love cuz of so many of the issues involved in boxing with corruption, excessive champions, bs decisions, etc & so on, they are cynical as **** & that transfers over to the viewership, get some new faces who haven't seen too much boxing bs, but are actually passionate about the sport, find the new Al Bernstein & Max Kellerman basically whos gonna find the positive in any situation & don't focus so much on the negative aspects of boxing but can put the negative aspects in prettier frame when necessary instead of going on anti-boxing tirades as the Atlas' & Lederman's can do, find a Joe Rogan type mfer who you think could have an ****** from watching a fight they are so into boxing that they celebrate the sport from the 4 round fights to the huge even fights
rest of the criticism is whatever, but creating an outlet to see the non-televised fights would be interesting to have.Comment

Exactly.
And lets just live in the present any damn way. Lets fully hype the fight cats are watching instead of talking about some fight that may or may not be going down in the future or some fighter that isn't fighting today.Last edited by Eff Pandas; 06-09-2015, 10:04 PM.Comment
