  • Is Arum going to be promoting Cotto for this?

Why would Floyd work with Arum for Cotto and not for Pacquaio?

Something tells me this is a mutual power play to get Canelo to give in to Cotto's demands and Pacquiao to give in to Mayweather.

It also imply s that Cotto doesn't have a contract with Arum.

Basically SHO/Haymon screwing Golden boy for taking Canelo across the street.

No, he wouldn't. But I think it's unlikely this fight happens.

      • Make it happen! Cotto whips his ass in a rematch!

        The Cotto/Roach/MacMillan connection is unstoppable!

          Why do you doubt it?

Seems they've made more headway with the Canelo bout. But I think it boils down to what's more lucrative to Miguel. A-side of the Canelo fight or B side of Mayweather.

nobody ever questioned Floyd's legacy. becoming lineal champion doesn't mean nothing when you beat inferior fighters too win those titles. Floyd was favored in every one of those fights in those 5 weight classes. and whats your point about Floyd starting at 160. cotto started at 140. neither guy is a middleweight. and winning your lineal in the 6 weight class against a guy you already beat. that's real impressive.

lol go back and read the responses in this post..plenty of people want to see cotto vs floyd 2. let me put it to you like this. Floyd vs cotto 2 will do more ppv buys then pac vs algeri or vargas lmao.

Floyd/cotto 2 wont do more buys than Floyd/pacquiao. people are saying they would take a rematch if no pacquiao fight, not instead of a pacquiao fight. and if becoming lineal champ at 160 was so important he would have fought Martinez when he was champ.

wrong again that's all you and people like you talk about, I Haven't talked about it since 2009 when pac refused drug testing. i knew he was scared to face floyd who is ten times the fighter marquez and morales are and they handled pac easily.

baldomir handled zab Judah easier than Floyd did. is he better than Floyd? no.

pacquiao handled hatton and cotto easier than Floyd. is he better than Floyd? no.

nobody talks about floyd vs cotto 2 that's why it's over 30 pages long. got it. the only people that think floyd is scared of pacquiao is once again people like you. those of us who follow boxing know that pac refused drug testing and a 50/50 split in 2009, that told me all i need to know about pacquiao.

I never once said Floyd was scared of pacquiao. do some research. I been saying for 5 years that he beats pacquaio. but that's just opinion. I actually seen Floyd beat cotto and I don't need too see it again.

so a Hofer like gatti who was the WBC 140 champ for two years with 5 succesful title defenses wasn't legit, and baldomir who defeated judah who was the unified champ at 147 wasn't legit either. do you have syphilis?

what is zab Judah biggest win? cory spinks. yea great win.
what is baldomir biggest win? zab Judah. yea ok
what is gatti's biggest win? jesse james leija. yea ok. gatti won a vacant title against branco. a guy I know you never even heard of. he never beat anybody. but that's a great win for Floyd huh?

floyd has a legacy outside of pacquiao not sure why that's so hard for you to comprehend. syphilis of the brain seem to be the diagnosis.

what does Floyd legacy have too do with him fighting pacquiao? he has a legacy outside of maidana, ortiz, and guerrero too. nobody said he gotta fight pacquiao too cement his legacy. he should fight pacquiao because he is the 2nd biggest draw in the sport and the 2nd rated welterweight in the world behind Floyd. whats so hard too comprehend about that.

              leonard/hearns
              Tyson/holyfield
              de la hoya/Trinidad
              ali/frazier
              Hopkins/taylor
              jones jr/toney

just a few examples of number 1 vs number 2 fighting in a division for supremacy. but you don't want that.

lol way better I don't think so.. cotto beat mosley when he still had something left and he's never been knocked out cold.

and mosley is cotto's best win. that's the only hall of fame fighter he ever beat. you accuse pacquiao of being on steroids and say you know all you need too know. but shane mosley was caught taking steroids and you credit cotto for beating him. pacquiao beat morales, barrera, marquez, cotto, mosley, oscar, hatton, margarito, clottey
              cotto beat Judah,mosley,rodriguez,foreman,jennings,mayorga,ma garito,martinez

you tell me what resume is better. and don't forget the ass whooping that pacquiao gave miguel

the question is one you need to have a semblance of life. I have moved on from pacquiao and his fear of needles you need to do the same.

At this point in their careers cotto is greater he is the recognized middleweight champion of the world and has mega fights with floyd and canelo lined up..pac is fighting algeri and vargas next and moving back to a jr. division lmao.
when you mention pacquiao and cotto name 20 years from now. we all know who the greater fighter of the 2 were. pacquiao ran right thru cotto. but cotto is better than him. you sound ******.

bottom line, I been a Floyd fan since 1996. but I been a boxing fan before Floyd turned pro and I will be a boxing fan after he retires. there is no reason for Floyd not too fight pacquiao next. you make more excuses for Floyd than he makes for his self. his daddy said its gon happen. his uncles say it should happen. but you wanna see Floyd fight a rematch against somebody he beat already instead of a new fight. if you wanna see floyd fight cotto go too youtube.

real boxing fans wanna see the two biggest names in boxing fight.

******s wanna see a fight they already seen

It's because we all saw it coming and because an obvious true contender is being screwed that this pisses me off more. This is a worst case scenario speculated back when Cotto and Martinez signed to fight each other that will kill off a middleweight lineage stretching back quite a ways.

I really hope it doesn't happen. This year has been really bad and starting off next year with this wouldn't promise very good things.

I don't mind seeing Cotto and Floyd fight at all. Floyd hasn't looked too hot -- I suspect it could be even more competitive this time around.

As far as bogus title, most of them are. Sucks. We see every fight like that coming...months in advance since that's when fights are announced. So I don't think that's an issue. If you didn't stop watching when Manny fought for a catchweight title against a Margarito who hadn't accomplished anything at that weight...we'll get over this one. At least Cotto beat the man and, more important, it's actually a competitive matchup.

                  • i wouldn't be unhappy with cotto-mayweather ii and golovkin-canelo. sucks that the lineage is lost, but this way we are guaranteed at least one good fight (whereas golovkin-cotto would quite predictably just be a sickening beatdown)

the cable company has the final say as too which fight it would distribute on ppv
Thanks for confirming that. I think it's ****** to put a ppv on a night where there is a quasi free show on another network. Free or ppv a lot would opt for the free methinks. Two ppvs does seem even bumber but does not seem out of bounds for some if the silly things we've seen as of late a la sho contract with may at 32 mil a fight. I too however don't think it will happen

I saw another of ur posts about no one wanting to see may v cotto 2. You should google that. Quit a few articles talking about that fight over the years since their first. I certainly want to see it. However. I certainly want to see pac v may 2015 would be an uber year is may fights cotto in may and pac in sept or vise versa. Perfect way to end contract and shut everyone about being scared. Hope springs eternal.
