Froch isn't one to bull**** around and he has pretty much said he's only interested in action fights that fans will love. More power to him but that's also a backwards admission that he's not interested in Andre Ward again.

All in all I'm glad to see 80K showing up for a Froch fight. I've been saying for going on 5 years he's the only British fighter worth supporting and it's about time the idiots like Haye and Khan get pushed to the backburner for The Cobra.

I think Delvin Rodriguez is the only guy you could say was anywhere near close to being a bum on Ward's recent resume so I don't know where you get this idea that he'll be fighting bums.

Froch annihilated Bute, got vengeance on Kessler and is rematching the best non titlist in the division, in fact, Groves is probably the best fighter at 168 not names Froch or Ward.

All that might be true, doesn't change the fact that H2H Ward soundly beat Froch (the #2 guy).

An old win? He virtually cleaned up the division and dominated everyone he fought! Ward's history has shown that he doesn't fight "subpar" opposition. And at the end of the day, he's still the man until someone beats him. Full stop.

Well let me correct myself... Froch isn't interested in fighting Ward in the US and Ward isn't going to travel to rematch a guy he beat comprehensively the first time.

I don't think there is even a 5% chance of that rematch ever happening simply based on the logistics.

Look at Ring Magazine's rules. You seem to be using their ranking system as Gospel, I was just telling you the only 3 ways that Froch will ever be ranked above Ward by the Ring.

I used the ring magazine to show who was ranked where at the time. We all know the ring magazine has strict rules for their 'lineal' championship, however that shouldn't disregard what should be.

Thank you. You say that Ward will always be above Froch no matter the opposition of both guys. Froch can never top Ward. That is if both win out obviously.

Nobody is their right mind had Bute #1 and even if they did the results in the ring have proven that he was never better than #5.

He's ripping Ward for not fighting anyone good while at the same time he is saying Bute was #1 when Bute had fought absolutely nobody with a pulse.

Bute's resume is actually one of the most pathetic in boxing history for a champion with at least 5 defenses.

Wtf man. Why are you trying to rewrite history? Kessler wasn't fighting at the time, and before Froch/Ward met - Many people said Bute was the best of them.

Incl loads on this site. There was no logic behind having Froch #1 behind Ward when he'd just gotten beaten and there was a dominant champ fighting and knocking everybody he fought out. Even if he fought subpar opp.

Bute was also a massive favourite to win their fight.

Who's rankings are we talking about here?

Ring champ has to be beaten in the ring. Sanctioning bodies would have each of their champs as top dog. Personal rankings can be whoever you want (not that it has any legitimacy), so anyone can put Froch no.1 if they feel that's right.

But Ward is the best fighter in division. Don't let ticket sales cloud our judgement here.
