So you guys are basically saying that Ward can just continue fighting bum after bum after bum (make that 1 bum a year), and Froch will never ever be able to surpass Ward despite facing much much better opposition? Really?
Should Froch be no. 1 if he beats Groves?

I couldn't care less about Ward or his fighting style - I would say the same for everyone else. The WBA has rules about that for their world champions. If he fails to meet them then he has to be stripped, and in that situation I would consider it ok for Froch to be considered #1.
But it has to be due to rules that are already in place. Not just because you guys don't like Ward or his fighting style or his nationality or his choice of opponents.
But is he obliging his duties with the WBA?
When is the last time he fought a mandatory? Just asking. Seems like the WBA are happy to let him sit on the belt without fighting. I don't even think they have any eliminators anymore. And if they do, like Gonzales-Groves - it's for Froch's "regular" belt or whatever. If he's not the second "super champ" already.
Basically the WBA is a mess and even if they were to strip him, he'd still be regarded as champ by others.
How long is long enough then? 5 years? 7 years?Well essentially, they are fantasy rankings but that's beside the point.
You do realise that Ring Magazine will never....and the Rock means never.....rank Froch above Ward unless...
A. He beats him
B. Ward retires
C. Ward is inactive for so long that he has to hand in the title.
The guy hasn't beaten anyone of note in 3 years - how long is he allowed to sit and rest on the throne?
This isn't about who ring mag will have as champ anyway though.Comment

I think Delvin Rodriguez is the only guy you could say was anywhere near close to being a bum on Ward's recent resume so I don't know where you get this idea that he'll be fighting bums.
Unless he rematches Kessler.Comment

Look at Ring Magazine's rules. You seem to be using their ranking system as Gospel, I was just telling you the only 3 ways that Froch will ever be ranked above Ward by the Ring.
So it isn't about the Ring Magazine but you're using the Ring Magazine rankings? Urrr hurp durp durpComment

So you want Carl to move up in any Ranking for beating a guy he already beat, tell me which part of that makes sense.Comment

His whole argument is made moot by the fact that Froch really has no interest in fighting Ward again because he himself doesn't like his chances of reversing the decision.
Froch isn't one to bull**** around and he has pretty much said he's only interested in action fights that fans will love. More power to him but that's also a backwards admission that he's not interested in Andre Ward again.
All in all I'm glad to see 80K showing up for a Froch fight. I've been saying for going on 5 years he's the only British fighter worth supporting and it's about time the idiots like Haye and Khan get pushed to the backburner for The Cobra.Comment

Nobody is their right mind had Bute #1 and even if they did the results in the ring have proven that he was never better than #5.
He's ripping Ward for not fighting anyone good while at the same time he is saying Bute was #1 when Bute had fought absolutely nobody with a pulse.
Bute's resume is actually one of the most pathetic in boxing history for a champion with at least 5 defenses.Comment
