Should Froch be no. 1 if he beats Groves?

The current no. 1 at SMW is Andre Ward. He hasn't fought an opponent with a pulse in nearly 3 years and doesn't appear headed for a bout any time soon.

Is it reasonable to replace Andre Ward with Carl Froch if Froch beats Groves on saturday?

      Me personally....no.
Unless Ward has completely fallen off the map with a years absence, Ward still the man to beat

Hes already #1 in my book. The Froch vs Ward fight was very close that could've went either way but the fight was where all of Ward's super 6 fights were - America. He was the only fighter that fought all his fights in his backyard.

        After the super 6
And Froch beat a undefeated Bute, Kessler and a undefeated Groves

Ward beat a severely weight drained Dawson who got sparked out in last than 1 round and Edwin Rodriguez who failed to make weight and was drained

Win or lose Froch > Ward

No. Froch lost to Ward head to head, so how can he be #1 over Andre?

              He's already #1.

Ward hasn't faced a good super middleweight since 2011.

How can the ranking solely be based on Ward beating Froch 3 years ago?

When Froch fought Bute, many considered Bute the #1 incl SMW. Froch wiped the floor with him. He's then gone on to beat the consensus #3 + George Groves who's now #4/5.

All the while Ward has beaten..............

                No one.
