Roy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dempsey and Johnson, not close imo.

That said Roy is definitely top 40 or so, don't have a list so don't really have anything too show but it sounds about right to me, great resume, incredible talent, don't think I'd have him in my top 20 though.

in atg list, roy is def not in the top 20. it shouldnt even be debatable based on what criteria an atg list should be based on.

in a h2h list, rjj ranks extremely high and i wouldnt argue with anyone who says he is the GOAT.

What do you actually base this off though? Just the fact that he was dominated?

I'm asking what the difference was between this build up and any other build up. How do you know he didn't train for the fight?

i remember toney saying he didnt take roy seriously but that could have easily been an excuse.

roy beats toney anyway regardless on how hard toney trained.

well from all the reports from his handlers, trainer, and everyone in camp,, Its not a secret that toney liked to eat,,, He was near 200lbs with about 3 weeks till the fight,,, and about 17 lbs over the week of,, He was basically pulling a chavez jr

What's the difference between that and the McCallum fight?

He was always that heavy going into camp and always had to shead of loads of weight for every fight he had at 160-168.

This was the case for all of Toney's fights yet he was only out of shape for the one with Roy Jones. Why? Seems to be the only reason is because he dominated him.

                Maybe Roy's just that good?

I'm not going to argue with anybody that says they think he's a top 20 atg but really its a resume v H2H thing.

resume wise I dunno ... just possibly sneaking in ... possibly not quite

But h2h he is WAY ... WAY up there.

Of course he took Roy seriously.

Toney has an excuse for every single fight that he didn't win or dominate.

true but I saw an interview a while a go where toney said that he was in great shape but roy was just too good ... so maybe he's getting more honest in his dotage
