    @ Sugar

Sure resume holds him back, but had he only fought Frankie liles and Eubank he'd be a lock right?

    Lol you're killing me tonight

Face it, no matter what Roy did, it would've never been good enough

They would def help and raise his stock,,,

If he unified vs Eubanks in 95 and say unified with liles in late 96 early 97 in Roy's last fight at 168,, yes it would have raised the stock immensely,, it sure as he'll beats ancient mccallum and Lucas and Brannon etc

        Collins/Eubank couldn't hold ancient McCallum's jock strap.

Liles does nothing for Roy as an ATG... No more than what Montell Griffin has already done... Hell, at least Griffin beat Toney twice. You keep bringing up this stuff about belts, but again K-9 was a belt holder, that doesn't mean he needs to be fighting Mayweather.

You're talking about unifying, but I'm pretty sure Roy did unify at at 175, but that still wasn't enough...

Point is, if you're coming up with all these excuses for who Roy beat (i.e. Hopkins, Toney, McCallum, ect), I just don't see how Nunn, Liles, Eubank, Collins or even Benn miraculously changes your mind.

You say the Hopkins fight wasn't that big, but it would've been no bigger than a fight with a Euro guy like Eubank at the time.

No matter how you cut it, these guys you talk about still don't change your mind about how you feel about Roy.

Unifying at 175 and his run their and higher makes Roy a top 50 atg..instead of just a hall of famer

Honestly when it comes to atg and rankings, it's really splitting hairs,, there have been over a million boxers in the history of boxing and i got Roy top 50, yet I'm perceived to be trying to discredit him, when all I'm really doing is saying why he isn't top 20....

Now you're str8 trolling. I was referring to you talking about belts and unification as if that meant anything

Besides, like I said earlier in this thread, my criteria for GOAT/Top 10 ATG obviously differs from yours

I ain't trolling,,, if Roy had retired after his 168 run, and never went higher then 168, he would be a hall of famer but hard to tell if an atg,,, with his impressive run at a higher weight which he did beat pretty much everyone out there but michlewski and not really Roy's fault on that one, and heavyweight title, and level of dominance over that period clearly shows he is an atg, top 50 lock

Whatever happened to SCTrojansBaby? He was like the last remaining member of the RJJR GOAT club.

Jones might be in the top 20. His resume is greater than Mayweather and Oscar imo

Not even top 20. There is an absolute ton of guys with better resumes. He was awesome, but highly overrated.
